temperatures we enjoyed on thursday, they are long gone. warmer weather is moving in with humidity that could trigger powerful storms later on today. outside we go to meteorologist chris sowers with the accuweather forecast. what time are we talking, chris? >> reporter: most of the afternoon is all right, between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. that's when the line of storms coming rumbling through. let's look at the temperatures before we talk about the thunderstorms. it's a delightful morning around the delaware and lehigh valleys. 55 degrees in allentown. no humidity. poconos 55, you were down to 44 in the poconos. 64 for philadelphia. millville, 63. cape may, 66. dover, checking in at 65. here's satellite and radar, what's happening we have a warm front cutting through central pennsylvania this morning. that will push through within the next couple of hours, let's say between 10:00 a.m.,

11:00 a.m., the front races through. the humidity increases ten fold. we'll be talking about comfortable conditions right now, and awful conditions this afternoon, it will feel like new orleans with the humidity climbing as we expect it to be. we expect a heavy line of thunderstorms to develop. some of the storms could produce damaging winds. we could see hail and brief, intense downpours. some of the wind gusts could exceed 60 to 70 miles per hour. once you get past 06 miles per hour with the soil as damp as its been, the trees start losing branches and uprooted trees. when i come back i'll show you the timing and which areas will get hit worse. i'll have the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. right now, gray, it's beautiful out here, almost fall-like. the change is coming. with the severe weather possible

car. the car rolled down the street on the unit block of herman street before stopping in bushes. new this morning, a driver faces dui charges after leaving the scene of the accident after a hit-and-run in center city police say the 48-year-old victim was hit on the 200 block of south broad street at 2:30 a.m. the victim had just stepped from behind a wawa delivery truck when this happened. the driver took off and was arrested a short time later. the victim is in serious condition at jefferson hospital. 7:04 if you're just waking up with us, a community has the difficult task of complaining the murders of two young children to their children and police say the siblings were killed by their mother. last night people who knew them held a vigil. parents play for aerial and her 7-month-old brother saint lee i- leo trying to make sense of no sense. children, both of them, they were such sweet innocent children. >> reporter: 40-year-old sophie hines is accused by police of suffocating had your children. police found them in the home of a relative and they say she confessed to suffocating them with a bed sheet. i can't imagine a mother take her children's lives. >> reporter: fox chase day karen center were cared for there up until a hearing master determined in late april they could be placed back in the custody of sophia hines and anthony singleton the father of saint leo. she was grateful for everything she had. >> reporter: for parents the most difficult part was trying to explain the tragedy to their kids.

my son has questions he wants to know what happened, i don't know what to say. it's tragic. >> reporter: the children released balloons in memory of aerial and saint leo. her lawyers say she is suffering from postpartum depression and in a contradict ward. a -- psychiatric ward. a teenager is recovering after being hit riding a bike. it happened in the city's frankford section last night. search continues for the driver who never stopped. the teen was rushed to st. christopher's hospital with a leg injury . a pizza delivery driver who was shot in the head after a robbery is talking about the horrifying ordeal. he said two men pulled a gun and forced him into his car they demanded money and forced him to

his knees and shot him in the back of the head. somehow he was able to runaway and flag down an officer. they told me i have to change my name to miracle. many people who suffer the same condition don't survive. police are searching for the two suspects. many would say that the grand farewell that happened in louisville, kentucky was fitting for the boxing legend known as the greatest. funeral services were held for muhammad ali. a casket carrying ali's body made it through neighborhoods in places that played a key role in his life. will smith was among the pal

muhammad ali died after a long battle with parkinsons. philadelphia officials are aiming to keep 911 calls from being bogged down with nonemergency issues. the goal is to look at alternatives to call ambulance for urgent nonmillion issues. those not in -- nonmedical issues, those who are not in dire situation are taking away resources who need them. please do to the hesitate to call 911, unless it is medical emergency. officials added on average, ems crews respond to 7 hup calls

burning bus said she owes her life to the driver. the bus' engine caught fire in plainville, new york. cindy march wheeled her wheelchair to the back of the bus, the ramp did not work and the driver got her out. he got me out of the wheelchair and carried me down the stairs of the bus.

states new orleans and tampa, things like. we're expecting that this afternoon, 2:30, reading, lancaster, 70, 69 in allentown. philadelphia, 66. most everybody at least at some point gets into the low 70s before the line of storms comes racing through. right now the radars look harmless enough. there's not much out there. we have a cluster to the north upstate pennsylvania. everything to the west it is cleared, that changes as we get the heating of the day and the increase in the humidity. 4:00 p.m., south jersey you're doing already. delaware all right. the immediate surrounding suburbs of philadelphia is all right. we get into the far western suburbs, the outlying areas, lehigh valley poconos starting to see the showers and storms explode and erupt within an hour's time frame. 5:30 it's in the city, clearing the jersey shore by 7:00 p.m. it's a quick-moving system. any neighborhood is fair game to

see the storm. you're talking half-hour are 40 minutes of rough weather. the key time frame is 4 to 8:00 p.m. the storms are racing through at 40 miles per hour, expect to see 40-mile an hour wind with the thunderstorm more likely 60 to 70 miles per hour, possibility of small hail. 60 to 70-mile an hour winds will take down branches. you get to 70 that will uproot trees. we'll see how the line intensifies over the neck several hours. this 90 will feel like 97. late-day thunderstorm a good bet. wind sustained 10 to 20 miles per hour. jersey shore, sunshine, increase in clouds, thunderstorms are late probably after 6:00 p.m. 80 degrees today, windy and warm tomorrow, 88 no sea breeze. the exclusive accuweather

everyone, 7:24 saturday morning, future tracker 6 later this afternoon, after 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., radar is indicating heavy thunderstorms. i went over this this morning, i want to touch on this again, because melissa will be talking about this at 6:00 p.m. there's two kinds of segments that you don't want to see. one is a hook echo and one is a bow he canning. heecho. you get into the middle of bow which would be southeastern burlington county and ocean county you could have wind up to 60, 70 miles per hour. we have a bow here and a bow here. maybe the line starts out

straight, no strong, powerful wind as of yet. it starts to bow a little bit and even more so, you get into south jersey, you have to worry when the radar looks like that. the wind in the middle of the bow is 70 miles per hour. 40 up here and 40 down here, 60 to 70 in the middle of the bow. looks like the time frame will be later this afternoon. first part of the afternoon is fine, 4:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., the storm blows on threw. police are looking into allegations against an eagles player off the field. ducis rogers has more on that. >> reporter: good morning, eagles receiver nelson agholor is the focus of an alleged sexual assault investigation. philadelphia police the allegation was made by a dancer at cheerleader strip club in south philadelphia saying an

assault took place around 3:00 p.m. on thursday. that was shortly after the team ended mini camp. no charge have been filed. the eagles are aware of the situation situation, but they will have to further comment. nelson agholor's attorney said his client is innocent. baseball, summer air poof pitching perhaps both. the ball was flying around the fashion -- the park in washington, d.c., too bad the nats were doing most of the hitting. freddie galvis comes home, 2-0 phils. third inning tommy joseph goes deep. the first of two on the night for joseph. things turn south from there. game tied at 4. hallton gives up 7 runs.

>> reporter: no more storms. for most weekends we've talked about storms and showers, today is no different. the good news is they are moving so quickly if you pick up a thunderstorm it lasts half-hour, 35 minutes tops. it's long gone and on its way. it's beautiful out here this morning. temperatures are comfortable, we have high, thin clouds starting to overspread the skyline. nice stuff for the month of june. 53 in pottstown. fleetwood, 56. the poconos got down into the mid 40s this morning. warrington, 58. levittown, 58. center city, 54. 50s and 60s for south jersey and delaware, as well. sea isle and woodbine 57. warm front in the process of pushing through, even though it feels comfortable out here right now, a noticeable change is heading this way. by 11:00 a.m., that's when the

this is her performance in orlando last night. this was a merchandise sale and meet and greet after her show where she took pictures and signed autographs for her fans. that's when a gunman walked into the venue with two guns. we know that the gunman walked up and shot christina and her brother tackled the suspect and the suspect shot himself. the suspect died from a self-inreflected gunshot during -- self-inflicted gunshot investigators are working to find out why the gunman targeted christina grimmie. her fans mourned on social media where her videos amassed millions of use over the past three years. wide receiver, nelson

agholor is accused of sexually assaulting a woman inside a philadelphia strip club. jeff chirico has the details. we are not confirming any particular player. >> reporter: philadelphia police are not naming names, but the eagles front office is, confirming nelson agholor is focus of a criminal investigation after alleged sexual assault. 27-year-old female dancer alleges she was sexually assaulted. >> reporter: nelson agholor hired a lawyer who said his client is 1,000 percent innocent of any criminal conduct and doesn't expect criminal charges to be filed. it's very early on, quite some way to go, before you can get to the part of talking about charges. >> reporter: nelson agholor visitorred the club after off season mini camp ended nearby, the eagles released a same time

saying we are aware of the police investigation involving nelson agholor, the organization has been in contact with nelson and the property authorities in philadelphia. nelson agholor who is on summer break until training camp until late july won't be doing much relaxing as the special victims unit investigates serious allegations against him. the first step is to interview the victim and get the story and the accusations that are being made. >> reporter: police will pull surveillance soda to try to corroborate the allegations. in south philadelphia, jeff chirico channel 6 "action news." new from overnight, a crash in philadelphia's port richmond section left homes and businesses without power. police say a tractor-trailer and a car were going the same way on aramingo avenue. the big rig was making a wide turn and the driver did not wait and tried to make the same turn.

the tractor-trailer and car collided snapping the pole and knocking out power. police say the car's driver is in the hospital and will be cited for dui. this morning a man is in the hospital after being badly burned when his car caught fire in south philadelphia. chopper 6 hd was over the scene on the northbound lanes south of broad street last night. police say the car crashed into the center center lane concrete divider. an "action news" viewer captured the car engulfed in flames. the 24-year-old driver was rushed to hanheman hospital to be treated. the man charged in the killing of a pennsylvania state trooper will likely of an outside jury decide his fate. prosecutors and all agree that a jury from outside pike county can hear the case against eric frein, he is accused of killing

brian dixon. the deal would keep the trial in pike county, a judge must approve the decision. the military will pay for 70,000 blood tests for those in bucks and montgomery counties who have been exposed to contaminated water. governor wolf asked for the tests in warminster and horsham. chemicals in the drinking waters were discovered ten years, it centers around two navel centers and air guard station. the navy and national guard will pay for replacement water and install filtration systems. njt released their new budget and they project a required increase of -- ryder

dramatic video from arlington, texas, masked gunman ambushed a jewelry dealer as he came up to a convenience store. the victim ran to the store, but caught by a gunman. the man holds the door shut, the victim gets away and gets inside the store. the suspect drove off, no word on what they got away with. look at this here, this looks like a picture from the wild wide west. it's a parking lot in oregon

where a man on horseback chased down and lassoed an alleged bike thief. the man unlewded his horse from the trailer and jumped on it and chased down the suspect. he used a lasso and pulled the suspect back to the store. police arrested the alleged bike thief. wow, you don't see that everyday. >> reporter: the "wild coundown" coundown" -- wild, wild west. storms later today. >> reporter: one particular neighborhood might get height -- might get hit for a half-hour. within that half-hour it could be wild. let's get you outside and show you what's going on down the jersey shore. that's the place to be today you want to escape the heat and humidity, sea breeze kicking in and the threat of storms not until later this afternoon. jersey shore should be nice during the late morning hours and the afternoon. beautiful shot in cape may.

radars are clear. it's not going to stay that way with the storms expected to press in here between 4 and 8:00 p.m. 90 degrees is the forecasted high. which is good 8 degrees above average. the last three or four days, we've been stuck in the 70s with no humidity. it's going to be a shocking change. with the humidity it will feel like 95. 55 in allentown. reading, 56. lancaster, 57. cape may, 67. dover, 65. here's satellite and radar, what you're not seeing here is the increase in the humidity through the carolinas and the virginias. that will surge north. the warm front is right here, thing of it as a door, once that pushes through it opens up and let's the humid air pour into the area. the cold front pushes into the warm, sticky air mass and that triggers the showers and thunderstorms. you can see that yesterday evening through the great lake

states. we'll see something similar to that later this afternoon. the clearing across portions of northwestern pennsylvania we'll see the thunderstorms spark up here let's say between 4:00 p.m., and 8:00 p.m. or 9:00 p.m. speaking of 4:00 p.m. we'll stop it there. this is future tracker 6 you can see the line entering parts of the viewing area, far western suburbs, berks, lee high county. allentown reading getting hit at that point. it's through the city at 5:30. the storms are moving at 40 miles per hour. 6:00 p.m. it's in the heart of south jersey and 7:00 p.m. it's cleared the coast. so, again, we're looking at maybe a half-hour to 35 minutes worth of rough stuff and the storms are gone, they are quick-hitting. storms will produce a lot of cloud to ground lightning strikes. breefer -- brief and intense downpours. anywhere from 60 to 70 miles per

planes will fly overhead. good news for parents, teens are having less sex according to the government survey on youth risk behavior. 40% of high school kids say they have never had sex. that's a 6% drop. cdc found decrease in illegal drug use and other risky behavior. graphic pictures helped people kick the habit. 40% attempted to quit if they received a pack with a graphic picture warning that's compared to 34% with a text warning. researchers say this is a low cost way to make a difference. you've heard about the recent recall involving sippy cups, experts say bath toys and sippy cups can become a breeding ground for bacteria and mold. abc collected the items and sent them off for testing the results are surprising.
