the show if you live near orlando florida, i'll be at the plaza live, please come out, bye. her fans are taking to social media to suppress their shock and grief. r.i.p.christina become the top-trending #on twitter. stay with "action news" and 6abc.com as well as our other platforms for more on the life and tragic death of christina grimmie. it is now 9:03 we're tracking other stories of the morning, a driver is in custody and facing charges after a hit-and-run in center city. the action cam was at the scene around 2:30 a.m. on the 200 block of south broad near the wawa. police say the victim was hit as he stepped out from behind a delivery truck. the driver took off, but did not take police long to locate the car. the driver was taken into custody and faces charges including leaving the scene of the accident and dui.

that victim is in the hospital listed in serious condition. eagles wide receiver, nelson agholor is facing serious allegations. he is accused of sexually assaulting a woman inside a popular philadelphia strip club. jeff chirico spoke with police and nelson agholor's attorney. we are not confirming any particular player. >> reporter: philadelphia police are not naming names, but the eagles front office is confirming that nelson agholor is the focus of a criminal investigation of alleged sexual assault that happened at the cheerleaders strip club thursday afternoon. a dancer alleged she was sexually assaulted by a member of eagles. >> reporter: nelson agholor hired an attorney who said his client is 1,000 percent innocent of any criminal contact and doesn't expect charges to be filed. it's early, very early on, quite some way to go, before you

can get to the part of talking about charges. >> reporter: nelson agholor reportedly visitorred -- visited the club after off-season mini camp finished nearby. >> reporter: the eagles have said they need in touch with nelson and the proper authorities. nelson agholor who is on break until training camp in late july won't be doing any relaxing. first step is to interview the victim and get the story and the accusations that are being made. >> reporter: they have not interviewed anyone from the eagles organization, police will pull surveillance video to corroborate the allegations. in south philadelphia, jeff chirico channel 6 "action news." a woman is facing dui charges for crash in port richmond that left a neighborhood without power. this happened in the 3900 block of aramingo avenue.

police say a car turned cutting off a tractor-trailer what was going in the same direction. the car and big rigged collided taking out a pole and power lines. the woman driving the car was taken to the hospital. peco is restoring power to those affected by the outage. local community is trying to cope with the death of two young children allegedly at the hands ever their mother. dover, 73. millville, 73. atlantic city, 74. this is the system we're watching along with satellite even radar, the area of low pressure up here across southern canada. that will swing through the east and push through new england today. here's the warm front pushing through now, followed by a cold front pushing through western portions of pennsylvania. it's that cold front that will trigger the late-day showers and thunderstorms. let's time it out for you, a lot of you have outdoor plans, saturday afternoon summertime, let's see what's going on. 4:00 p.m., the line of showers and thunderstorms should be out to the west in malvern, pottstown, levittown, norristown, probably seeing thunderstorms at that point. an hour later these storms are zipping through. an hour later it's in philadelphia. woodbury getting hit. glassboro, cherry hill. salem, wilmington, maybe as far east as hammonton. 6:00 p.m., salem, probably still getting hit pretty good. smyrna, dover, delaware, for the

skew, gandys beach, woodbine, sea isle city, avalon. atlantic city getting hit pretty good. 7:00 p.m., wildwood, cape may, picking up the storms, everybody else it clears out nicely, we'll see the return of sunshine. the key time frame 4 to 8:00 p.m. this afternoon. before that it's a combination of sun and clouds. after that it's a combination of sun and clouds. the problem is when you get hit with the storms they will produce 60 to 70-mile an hour winds. let's say you pick up a storm within a half-hour you could get wind damage, trees down power outages things like that. heavy downpours are possible and maybe small hail. this afternoon, turning hotter and humid, 90 will feel like 95. late-day thunderstorm is a good bet. winds out of the southwest. these are normal wind speeds 20 to 30 miles per hour. in the thunderstorm it could

hitting the road this summer, gas prices will be at their lowest level in years. a gallon of regular should average 2.27 through september. that's down 13% from last summer. it is the lowest price that has been recorded in 12 years and lower than the national average 2.36. 9:19, the democratic national convention is weeks away, hotel rooms across the region are filling up. walter perez with that story. >> reporter: it is expected that 50,000 guests are being booked across the delaware valley when the democratic national convention arrives in philadelphia this summer. the greater philadelphia chairman about her -- chamber of

commerce said it's another event that puts understand in the spotlight and generates business for hotels in the city. if you want to compare its like the army navy weekend and you think about it on a regional basis we should be in great shape. >> reporter: officials from the tourism convention board have been thinking of it on a regional basis. the board launched an aggressive campaign to have people stay in the suburbs during the convention. they set out kits on social media and created a brochure in the form of a website for the democratic convention. it seems to have worked. at first it was estimated that hotels in the area would have 5,000 rooms booked. we're happy to report back we have 15,000 hotel nights

agholor. >> reporter: good morning, eagles receiver, nelson agholor is the focus of an alleged sexual assault investigation. philadelphia police say the allegation was made by a dancer at cheerleader strip club in south philadelphia. she said the assault took place inside the club on thursday. it was after the team ended mini camp. eagles say they are aware of situation and have no further comment. nelson agholor's attorney said his client is quote, 1,000 percent innocent. the ball was flying around the park in washington, d.c. it was 80s night. second inning check out goodell, freddie galvis comes home, 2-0 phils. tommy joseph goes deep. the first of two on the night for joseph, the phillies are up

happening right now on "action news" saturday at 9:00 a.m., breaking news, condolences continue to pour in for a popular singer and south jersey native gunned down after a concert. they told me i have to change my name to miracle. a pizza delivery driver is speaking out after surviving an execution style shooting. and donald trump and hillary clinton are hitting the campaign trail in pennsylvania. outside we go to meteorologist chris sowers and the accuweather forecast. you're tracking strong storms today, chris. >> reporter: you can feel the difference from when i was first out here this morning 6:30, 7:00 a.m. it was refreshing. now we're noticing the increase in humidity. that's the first of several changes that will takes place

this afternoon. temperatures we've been in the 70s the last few days, today we top out at 90 degrees. 07 in philadelphia. 69 in wilmington, dover, 73. millville, 73. atlantic city, 74. cape may, 70. with the warm front just to our south it's already through sussex and kent county in delawares, as well as cape may county in new jersey. these are the dewpoints the way we look at the amount of moisture in the air. you can see the scale at the top. once we break the 60-degree mark it becomes slightly humid. we get into the 65, 66, 70-degree range you notice the change. when dewpoints get into the 70s it's almost like new orleans. we are expecting dewpoints to climb in the upper 60s and low 70s later on along with the heat and humidity we take a look at satellite and radar. there's not much going on yet, you can see for the most part we're in the clear, only clouds out here, but nothing popping on the radars.

and execution style shooting of a pizza delivery driver who was shot in the back of the head. he did not die. doctors are calling it a miracle. trish hartman has more on the driver's condition and the search for the gunman. they told me i have to change my name to miracle. that's what they told me because, a lot of people come to the same situation, but we can't nobody that survived. >> reporter: the 34-year-old said doctors couldn't explain to him why he is still alive. he was shot in the head monday night while delivering pizza in southwest philadelphia. when my brother came to the hospital, i told my brother to take care of my daughter back home for me and my family. >> reporter: police say it happened around 10:15 p.m. whether he went to make a deliver on beaumont avenue. when the two men came out to the car they pulled a gun and forced him into the vehicle.

when they told me to go into the car, i'm like this is not real, or this is weird. >> reporter: he said the men took $60 and drove him a few blocks away, they demanded he call someone to bring more money. when he didn't, they forced him on his knees and shot him in the back of the head. somehow he was able to run and flag down an officer. with the bullet an inch in the brain he was able to make a recovery. while he said he won't be returning to his old job, he is thinking about what he can do to support his family in ghana. i have to look for what i can do now to help my family back home. >> reporter: trish hartman channel 6 "action news." turning to the race for president donald trump is bringing his campaign to pennsylvania today, the likely republican nominee has a campaign stop this afternoon in pittsburgh. public policy polling shows trump neck in neck with hillary

gandys beach beautiful morning on the delaware bay. 673. vineland, 73. sea isle, 70. hammonton, 73. smyrna, 74. satellite and radar there's a warm front north of washington, d.c. and baltimore. that will be swinging through in the next several hours. the air is very soupy across the virginias and the carolinas. once this cloud deck breaks it will feel uncomfortable with high temperatures near 90 and high humidity levels. with the passage the cold front we see this developing late in the day. 4:00 p.m. it's pushing through upper montgomery and bucks counties. pottstown, and chester county, picking up the reds and pinkish color there that's the heavy thunderstorm activity. 5:30 it's in the city and now in the heart of south jersey, millville, vineland, buena, getting hit hard. glassboro starting to clear. looms it's pushing through

hammonton, 5:30, 6:00 p.m. it's down to the south cape may, atlantic city counties and cumberland county and 7:00 p.m., look at that, everything is cleared out. the sun starts to shine brightly again and the rest of the day looks okay. there's that four hour window between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. northwest to southeast. north western suburbs, berks county, 4:00 p.m. jersey shore, 7 or 8:00 p.m. that's the big threats with the storm. lots of cloud to ground lightning strikes, can't stress that enough. you'll see a ton of those. blinding downpours if you're driving. you might have to pull over. some of the wind gusts could exceed 60 or 70 miles per hour. the tornado threat is low, the hail threat is low, there's a threat there, though. hot and humid, that's the call from accuweather. 87 in reading. 90 in philadelphia for only the 5th time this year. 80 in millville and cape may.

lips. >> reporter: last year during her junior year she started having trouble breathing in while she was running. kind of felt like my neck was closing i was wheezing make noising collapsing at the finish line. >> reporter: in fact this picture was taken right before she did collapse. her mouth would be wide open gasping to get the air in. at first she was diagnosed with exercised induced asthma. when inhaler didn't help she was diagnosed with vocal cord dysfunction. it happens when they squeeze together tightly and don't let air in.
