orlando, florida, where orlando police are saying a nightclub shooting is a mass casualty situation. apparently people have been injured at the pulse club. about an hour ago, orlando police off a controlled explosion outside the club, police have been advising people to stay away from the area. we have learned from the police, the nightclub shooter is dead and orlando police say is a mass

orlando apparently to commit this crime and then had plans to travel back to where he came from. police say he fatally shot himself after killing grimmie. two guns were found on him. the venue did not have a metal detecter or pat down. christina grimmie was a youtube star and went on to the voice to start her professional career. her brother jumped on him to stop him, 120 people were at the venue, police say her brother's bravery may have prevented others from getting hurt. her brother said she is more than my sister, -- above al she was my baby sister she loved

latin night, described as a gay premier nightclub, people were dancing getting a drink and they hear gunfire, some people describing getting to the ground and crawling out. others we spoke to milling about after the shooting. we responded to the area a few hours ago because their cars were parked here. they said they were texting with friends inside the club holding themselves in the, hiding out one saying his arm was shot texting with his friend outside the club. the hospital as i said is a block away from me, earlier when we responded had families out there waiting. we know the fbi has responded. we heard the controlled explosion around 5:00 a.m., that was an explosion that law enforce. said it was controlled by law

enforcement. around 5:15 a.m., we did hear a barrage of what sounded like gunfire coming from the scene. around 5:30 a.m. we were seeing trucks rushing back and forth, one truck with what appeared to be first responders give cpr making drops at the hospital. as i mentioned it's a scene with a lot of heavy police presence and authorities, this is as close as we can get to the nightclub where a night of dancing turned into terror. fbi police all on the scene, right now we're awaiting for a briefing to them, that will be in a half-hour, we'll come back to that when we have that information and much more on "good morning america." and now to our breaking news from orlando florida,
