and recalling each and every detail of that night. a night that started with a dream adventure with girlfriends and ended incomplete horror worse than any nightmare imaginable. >> it was beautiful. a bonding experience like any girl could have. >> her first night in orlando and first time in florida. with her two friends at pulse nightclub. >> we were having the time of our lives. akira was the life of the party. >> akira would not make it out alive. they ran back in for their friends. i said we have to go get tiara. so we went inside. we got trapped in there. >> that is the most raw source of her survivors guilt. bringing akira back inside. she didn't make it, and me and

tiara feel guilty about that. and her mom told me not to feel guilty. >> the gunman entered the bathroom and was shooting his machine gun so we are all scrambling around in the bathroom screaming at the top of our lungs and they were all piled in the stall and witnessed everything from the moment he made his 911 call to the moment he reloaded his weapon. >> he said, hey you to someone on the floor inside of the bathroom and shot them and then shot another person and then shot another person who happened to be directly behind me who i am told through the eyes of tiara shields me with their own body so i wasn't hurt. >> the pipes started to burst and the bathroom started to

>> the parents of patience carter got joy when they learned their daughter was alive and the parents of akira did not get that satisfaction, they waited 36 hours to hear she passed. >> i am filled with emptiness. knowing my daughter is not coming home with us. >> it was suppose to be a celebration of life for the murray family. a celebration of kira murphy graduating and her full basketball college. >> i keep seeing her face. >> akira and her cousin tiara parker and friend patience carter, begged the murrays to go to the pulse nightclub. it was a place that 18-year-olds could attend. >> i didn't really want her to go. dad take me. dad -- >> i said to myself she is on

vacation. the murrays dropped her off and then at 2:00 a.m. they got the text messages. come get us now please they shooting. they jumped in the car and frank particularly drove to pulse. >> i receive aid phone call from daughter, saying mom i have been shot in the arm help me please i'm scared. i'm bleeding so bad please help me call the cops and at this point she was in the bathroom and i guess the assailant guy was there with them. >> it was chaos and those with akira say she stayed on the phone with police and directing them to where they were held as hostages in the stall by mateen. they were should close but so far and did not learn of akir's death for 36 hours. they still don't know how she died an autopsy is pending.

the loss is unbelievable. >> i have to know that she died for a good cause, saving her cousins and friends and was happy until the day she stopped breathing. >> reporter: coming up at 6:00 i sit down with tiara parker, she was with patience and akira in the nightclub in the bathroom stall. we'll hear her story she was released from the hospital yesterday. we'll have more on the horrifying details inside of the pulse nightclub. >> so much of it heart breaking. thank you. meantime the fbi is investigating reports that gunman omar mateen was a regular at the gay nightclub that he attacked. and the wife of omar mateen is being considered for possible criminal charges this after a law enforcement officials says she may have known something about the incident in advance but claimed he tried to talk him

out of the assault. in the meantime, six of the more than 50 wounds in the nightclub remain in critical condition. so many communes across the region are pausing to mourn those that did not make it out of the nightclub alive. it continued today at st. joe's university. during a mass on campus, students and faculty took a moment to stand and pray for love and peace and stand in solidarity. the coverage of the orlando massacre continues at 6abc.com. they are sharing the stories of those lost and the survivors including the young woman from our area who shared the gripping account of her ordeal. and of course we'll alert you to new developments about the ongoing story. philadelphia police are trying to track down the vehicle and the driver involved in a deadly hit and run. the crash happened at 11:30 last night. it happened in the somer dale section of the city,

investigates say a minivan went through a red light and hit a woman on adams avenue. the woman was walking through a crosswalk and was pronounced dead on the scene. sara bloomquist has a live report coming up at 5:00. we are learning new details about a woman found murdered in fairmount park. the victim was not only handcuffed and stabbed. she was also shot. walter perez has the details. >> reporter: brian investigator dozen not believe the victim was killed in the location where she was found, they believe she was murdered somewhere else and dumped on the edge of a wooded area in fairmount park. it was 8:30 this morn when police received the call of a body in fairmount park near the mann center. investigators arrived to find a woman handcuffs and stabbed

repeatedly and shot one time in the back of the head. they do not know who the victim is, but she had three distinctive tattoos. >> she has loyal across her cash and ka sh -- an african-american woman 3'5" and thin and wearing a white skirt. all investigators could tell us was that it was clear she fought hard to defend herself. >> believe she was in a fight for her life and unfortunately she lost. >>. >> reporter: we should mention that no weapons were found at the scene there, anyone with information is asked to call the philadelphia police homicide unit. reporting live walter perez, channel 6 "action news."

happened in today's court hearing. >> reporter: on the day the little boy was found dead. the father spoke with hours with detectives, talking about relationships and reading bedtime books with the boy. all of it was recorded on video, part of the defense video was to try to suppress the video so it would not be used against the father in court. >> david creato reacting after being told his 3-year-old son was found dead. the emotion played out in a courtroom today. the young father who months later was charged with his son's murder volunteered information on how his 17-year-old girlfriend threatened to break up if brandon was part of his life. >> she is always fighting with

me. >> and was worried that his girlfriend was seeing someone else at college. >> were you jealous? >> yes -- >> the prosecution's theory that david creato killed his son leaving him in a wooded area in an effort to apiece the girlfriend. >> he admitted he was concerned that she was having contact with all of these other men. >> the defense tried to suppress the statement arguing that the 22-year-old was not given a miranda warning and misled when he allowed detectives to view texts between creato and his girlfriend. while he was in the police station he was not in custody at the time and gave the information freely and it was admissible. >> he was free to leave, he was anxious to cooperate. >> it was disclosed today that a plea deal of 35 years was offered to the young father and

arrested in chester county. they arrested eric shoot this morning, accused of using a rival to kill three men over an argument over property. at one point police in pennsville new jersey, warned residents to be on the lookout for shute because he once lived there. and state employees are accused of stealing $21,000 in federally funded food benefits. five are charges and two others are still on the run. attorney general says they made fake abt accounts and sent the cards to themselves and either used them or sold them. the findings are part of a month long investigation. we turn our attention to the forecast and meteorologist, cecily tynan. >> picture perfect, blue skies and sunshine, we'll do a tour of our sky 6's to see how much

that thank you cecily. a traveling symbol of peace and unity is making its way across the country and today it arrived in delaware. the flag of hope stopped in wilmington and they hosted a welcome ceremony where people could place their fingerprints with acrylic paint. it was started in memorial day last year and has been to 48 states since then. >> name the city and state you represent and what does the american flag mean to you. that electronic data base will go with the flag in whatever museum it ends up in. you can go and look up their ancestors name and see what they had to say about the mefrn flag. >> cool stuff. organizers want to end the flag's journey in pearl harbor.

and they are considering the impact of immigration laws created 20 years ago. they held a hearing on the laws passed in 1996 and how they affected the local community. critics say that deportation is skyrocketing because of the way immigrants are received in the justice system. philadelphians testified on the impact of the policies today. the corruption trial of philadelphia congressman, chaka fattah, is drawing to a close. today closing arguments wrapped up in center city philadelphia. rick williams is live in the newsroom with more on this story. >> that is right, it's nearly a month since congressman fattah's trial got underway, today lawyers for fattah and his co-defendants took aim at is the prosecution's case calling it a walking, talking reasonable doubt. vernon odom will have more on today's court proceedings coming

day and night carrying out raids in a paris suburb after a terror attack left two police officials dead. the man and woman were stabbed inside of their own apartment. the suspect then held their 3-year-old child hostage and allegedly posted a video of it all on facebook. the suspect was killed in a standoff with police and investigators say he pledged allegiance to isis. also in paris, 26 people including two police officers were arrested when protests turned violence. they were holding a protest to loosen labor laws in france and they threw projectiles and some 20 people were arrested . here thousands of people are without power after a warehouse fire in los angeles. more than 100 firefighters were called to battle the flames this morning. there were several explosions at the scene fueled by magnesium it

burns power lines and poles and caused 200 people to evacuate a nearby apartment complex. big talkers now the mayor of london is making a bold move on banning all ads with what he calls negative or unhealthy body images appearing in the subway system or as they call it the tube. he says these images can demean women and make them ashamed of their bodies. this big debate started last year of an ad of a model in a bikini, asking the question are you beach body ready. the mayor says if you don't like images like this, if you see them on tv or magazines, you can turn the channel or flip the page, but on the tube it stares you in the face for the whole ride. and now to this, a beautiful story of hope and helping others from california. a young boy up against his own

struggles organizes a toy drive when he realizes his hospital needs more toys. this is hayden he is being treated for kidney disease and waiting for a donor for his third kidney transplant. he was at childrens hospital ucla and noticed most of the toy cabinets were temty and started his own toy drive at his school and the school where his mom is a teacher. >> they will see all the toys in the cabinet and think my mine is blown. >> he raised hundreds of dollars in cash donations and got more than 250 toys for the other kids. he and his mom are dropping it off next week and they hope to make it an annual event. out of the mouth of babes and kids helping kids. >> the kids always figure it

they have all really pushed off the coast season evaporated and high pressure to the north and exerting control and i'm tracking low pressure that will bring us rounds of showers on thursday. that brings the loop and how this low pressure bring its up to the north, it rides over a ridge of high pressure to the north and then slides to the southeast and that brings us unsettled weather and lingering into friday. the next 12 hours no worries at all. another great night for sleeping, 59 degrees for center city. tomorrow the high pressure begins to lose control, we start the day with sunshine and then the clouds roll in and still it's a nice day with a high of 82 degrees, and then heading into thursday, the low pressure will spawn another one off the coast and what that will do is bring us an easterly flow and that brings in the cooler air. 72 is the high and mostly cloudy skies with showers especially

identified as 17-year-old m markale jackson. police have not tracked down the minivan or driver that struck and killed her last night in the light of this fatal crash at this intersection, city and state officials are promising to look into the set up of the traffic lights to determine if this intersection is safe. the roosevelt boulevard has a reputation for being a dangerous roadway for pedestrians, crossing at adams avenue is no easy task. the pedestrian gets a go ahead and the cars get a green light all at the same time. that was the situation last night at 11:00, when a young woman in the crosswalk was hit and killed. the motorist fled without stopping. >> all the motist had to do was just stop. the driver had a green light as did the pedestrian. and like they are suppose to is call 911 and render ai
