little 2-year-old attacked by an alligator at disney world last night. is he identified as lane graves of elk horn, nebraska. >> he was within the immediate area of where he was last seen. it took some time to go through and make sure in the waters and it's kind of murky, there is likely no question in my mind that the child was drowned by the alligator. >> the alligator snatched lane while he was in ankle deep water at the floridian hotel and spa. they caught and euthanized alligators in their search for the boy. police in orlando are undergoing stress counseling outside of the pulse nightclub therk are working to reconstruct the killer's movements. 39 people died when omar mateen

six people including two officers were taken to the hospital for observation and treatment. fortunately everybody is going to be okay. this is the scene at 3rd and tabor in olney, following a collision a police suv came to rest in front of a church and the black car came to a stop on the steps of the church. the two female officers were responding lights and sirens to assist another officer, when they came to the intersection they collided with the black sedan, carrying two adult women and two children in the backseat. >> i heard the siren and my daughter ran out first and said oh my god it's a bad accident. >> george was doing work nearby and came to look. >> the lady in the other car was driving the car with her mother and started screaming at the cops. somebody had to calm her down because she had kids. >> everybody was taken to

south van buren streets. a 12-year-old was shot in the thigh and essence told "action news" she and her friend chris were innocent victims, they were playing tag when they got shot. >> we started running and chris dodged behind the car and i looked back and he was on the ground. >> pow pow pow. >> i got up from my bed and said oh christian. >> christian is recovering, a 15 shot remains in critical condition and a 16-year-old victim also remains hospitalized . police in the lehigh valley are looking for this man who robbed a bank wearing this mask. it happened at 10:00 a.m. at the first niagara bank. according to officials, the suspect entered through the back door and pulled out a silver handgun, he is described as 5'8" with dark scruff on his skin, a

dye pack exploded during the robbery. anybody with information is asked to call the upper macungie police department. the corruption trial of congressman, chaka fattah, is official any in the hands of the jury. vernon odom is live with the details. >> reporter: good evening monica, it's jury has just been sent home for the night and they are resume deliberations tomorrow morning. this could take a long time and there are many counts here and so much at stake. it's another long day for congressman fattah and all others involved in this case that took five weeks to try. judge harvey bartle took five hours charging the jury and reading them 100 pages of what they are doing here and vote not guilty if there is a reasonable doubt. one juror was dismissed. the reason is not disclosed. there was a paper trail but no

signatures by the 11 term congressman. the prosecutors want the jurors to believe the word of two admitted felons and two former fattah consultants that testified for the government. saying they helped to hide money pilfered from an array of nonprofits. the defense says that the once powerful congressman had no idea what they were doing >> they say fattah is a crook that stole money from his own campaigns to pay off debts and reenforce his lifestyle. >> there are many, many counts to consider here and many against four co-defendants of fattah's. many believe there will not be a verdict until next week. i'm vernon odom, channel 6 "action news." >> thanks. time to get a check of the "action news" traffic report for you. >> it's midweek and matt pellman in the traffic center with the low down on the slow down. >> verdict is in on 95, not a

great ride, jammed up in the northbound lanes but it's better than it was this morning rick and monica when we had the huge truck fire at girard that blocked all lanes for several hours, everything is open this afternoon but just congested and they are coming out at 10:00 tonight to fix the guardrail damaged in the fire and then at 11:00 the vine street expressway will close. a mess later on and busy now and extra busy on the schuylkill because of the phils game and the dolly parton concert at fairmount park but if you are headed to firefly over the weekend, things are better, the crash at christiana and 1 has cleared. will not get better until the weekend for the admiral wilson boulevard, emergency construction continues through through at least this weekend. we'll check it again in the next half hour. >> thank you matt.

chopper 6 hd was over the scene. the driver of the truck sustained an arm injury but is expected to be okay. the truck stopped traffic in the car lanes for about 90 minutes. the hotel portion of the revel casino has not reopened just yet but some members of the chamber of commerce says the city is bouncing back. joe kelly says there is a billion dollars worth of investments happening there. the showboat is expected to reopen as a none gambling hotel. >> the bleak forecast is for the

health check tonight. it's been 10 years since we lost our friend and colleague gary papa to prostate cancer. ali gorman is joining us at the big board with more. >> reporter: gary's prostate cancer was rare it started young in his 40s and it was aggressive. and he shared his story to help save other men from the same battle. the run is named after him, and another celebrity is helping to spread the word. >> his voice has been heard on

local radio for decades. steve morrison from the preston and steve show on wmmr makes listenings laugh with his jokes and quick witt. he is hoping to spark listeners and men to be proactive with their health. steve is a speaker at this year's gary papa annual run. he was diagnosed with the disease two years ago at age 54 and he was seeing his doctor regularly and the cancer was caught early. the whole message was that being out ahead of it saved my life. >> steve had surgery and is now cancer free. he urges other men talk to your health care provider, and get the appropriate screening and follow-up. he tells me he feels honored to be associated with gary papa and

his message and although gary lost his life, he likely saved many. >> the lives he has saved through his journey and what he encountered is almost incomprehensible. that sentiment was recently echoed by another philadelphia favorite. >> he lived a great life and is now making a difference when he is gone. and philadelphia was better for having gary papa here. as for screening for prostate cancer, all men should talk to their doctor at least starting at age 50, if you have a higher risk start in your 40s. that goes with anyone with a family history or african-american. as for the run this sunday all of us from "action news" will be out there. there is time to sign up. a 5-k run and a 10 k walk and a fun walk. we have all the details at 6abc.com. >> i'll do the fun walk and 5-k

meteorologist cecily tynan, is here with the forecast. >> hi monica and rick. we have wet weather on the way. right now most of our region is rain free, we have a few light sprinkles across south jersey and most of it is dying down and one batch heading towards mays landing and another one to sea isle city. and most of the city rain will be falling when most of us are asleep. timing now temperatures are cooling off thanks to the clouds, philadelphia 77 degrees and we hit 80 earlier today. you see the area seeing the most sunshine, allentown 83 and wilmington 73 with clouds, a shower moved through an hour ago and cape may point relatively cool at 69 degrees. satellite 6 along with action radar showing after yesterday's bright blue skies and sunshine the clouds rolled in and this is in advance of a warm front and what will happen is low pressure will develop off the coast of

this warm front and that will bring us an easterly flow tomorrow. that keeps us socked in with clouds and helps to bring in showers tonight. the call from accuweather tonight, late night rain with a rumble of thunder and with the cloud cover temperatures not dropping all that much generally in the 60s but the good news is if you have evening plans, the dolly parton concert at the mann or the phillies game it's looking dry. the steady rain should be holding off until midnight. we say dry evening and early tomorrow morning this is when we see the bulk of the steady rain early at 5:00 in the morning steady rain is rolling through and affecting the first half of the commute. rain around 10:00 and it's brightening and peeks of sunshine and a secondary low early friday morn that will clip areas to the south, so the best

>> it's four years and nothing has been done. >> a lawmaker declares he has had enough and demands congress acts on sweeping gun legislation. and the case of the mother found murdered in fairmount park. now the details of the hours past. we are learning more about the orlando nightclub shooter, omar mateen. he passed a psychological test as parts of being a security guard. nobody saw signs of mental or emotional distress and more questions are surfacing about mateen's wife, they have seen her at several locations including pulse. she has taken a lie detector test. what involvement did she have with this attack. and now 25 people remain in the care of doctors and six are in critical condition and doctors warn the death toll could go up.

tonight the families of the 49 people killed instantly are making funeral arrangements for their loved one. gloria rivera is live in washington with more. >> reporter: good afternoon. you mentioned it. officials are looking closely at omar mateen's wife asking her probing questions, what did she know and when did she know it. and processing evidence of the crime scene, going back weeks months and years focusing on the horrific attacks for what did anyone else know about what he planned. >> did his wife, noor salman know he was planning mass murder. officials say she allegedly went to purchase ammo with mateen and visited pulse nightclub with him at least once. and now the fbi is asking for help. >> no matter how small the information can be, i want to

gun control on capitol hill as well as the investigation into the orlando massacre. watch it all tonight at 6:30 following "action news" at 6:00. the authorities have identified the woman found brutally murdered in fairmount park. 29-year-old toy bryant was found yesterday near the mann center for the performing arts. a couple on their way to work spotted the body. they was found stabbed and handcuffs and shot in the back of the head. a german town father charged in death of his son. david armstrong charged with endangering the welfare of a child. his child was taken to the hospital with severe injuries and died two days later. from our delaware newsroom, two arrests are made in a carjacking at the dover mall. 22-year-old benjamin buyer and trevor cox as well as another man approached a 18-year-old in

the parking lot outside of dicks sporting goods and threatened him with a pipe and baton and stopped and ordered the driver out of the car and then the suspects drove off. a formal arraignment was set for an accused double murderer. ronald dorsey is accused of shooting dolly evans and ruby thomas in may fair. their bodies were founds in august of 2014. dorsey will be arraigned on july 6. james meres plead guilty earlier and they say they were out to rob evans and thomas. trenton police are investigating a collision that sent a car into a building it happened at 1:30 this afternoon when turning on to west hanover street collided with a silver nissan, it drove into four vehicles before it came to rest crashing into the corner of a building, the driver suffered minor injuries and it appears
