and tuesday, i'll have the details in the seven day. >> this morning police in bucks county will be back at a home where 12 young girls had to be rescued. one of the girls was gifted to a man when she was 14 years old. the man father's day two children with the teenager. the man is lee kaplan, the girl is 18 years old and mother of a 3-year-old and 6-month-old. police say the girl's parents who you see here daniel and savilla stoltzfus gave their daughter to kaplan as a gift during difficult financial times. kaplan and the parents are being held on a million dollars bond. this disturbing case was discovered after a woman contacted police on thursday.

jen betts said she would see young girls in blue dresses standing outside. >> whatever i would see these small children, little girls never any boys, my heart would break, because they looked unhappy, fearing their lives. >> stoltzfus are the parents of the other nine children in the home. they are in the care of the children and youth services in lancaster county. jeff chirico has the latest. >> i've been telling my husband and for years, something isn't right. >> reporter: jen betts said she filed complaints before but never had proof something criminal was happening inside the house she passed each day. the color of the shutters and van in the driveway matched the faces of the children who lived here. >> i saw girls last week who looked unhappy and sad in the blue dresses. >> i thought was odd the way

they were dressed. because we're not an amish neighborhood. betts complained 6 months ago when the infant was brought home. nothing happened. finally she called child services. news of what lee kaplan did inside these walls leaves them struggling to understand. neighbors say they are relieved it is over, and the children are safer. >> it's like i, finally, they will be where they need to be and the abuse stops. >> reporter: betts was so intent trying to figure out what was going on inside the house, two years ago on halloween she

knocked on the door, hoping someone would answer so they could peep inside. neighbors say a huge weight has been lifted off the neighborhood and their thoughts are with the young girls. jeff chirico channel 6 "action news". >> daniel and to savilla stolts gave kaplan their 14-year-old daughter after they had a fallout with the amish community. the couple blamed the amish church for financial problems and declared themselves born again christians. according to court documents, they gifted their teenage daughter to kaplan as a way of thanking them for helping them get you out of a financial prob. the quarryville neighborhood said the news confirms the suspicious about the family. >> you stopped in, you asked why you there, he don't have

block of south 15th street where they tried to rob another man. they fired at this man, but they missed. >> we're in the investigation, this whole ordeal should be on camera. there are good cameras in center city from broad and walnut. the man who was shot is in his mid 20s and in jefferson university hospital where stable condition. there will be no charges against two police officers in cumberland county for the death of a man in their custody. 32-year-old philip white died after being arrested. vineland police say he resisted arrest and was handcuffed and restrained. white become unresponse issue and later died from respiratory distress. bucks county man is facing charges from a vigilatne

suspect. dennis was charged with a number of crimes. the bucks county d.a. said jones was not justified in shooting him. it is back to the drawing board in the corruption trial of chaka fattah after the judge removed one of the jurors. the judge dismissed that man yesterday and replaced him with an alternate. the judge ordered the jury to begin deliberations again, the 11-term fattah is charged with racketeering, bribery and money laundrying and fraud. dozens of protesters stood outside the hotel where trump was holding a private fundraiser. one of those detained had a gun. the man said he is a supporter, and the incident was all a

misunderstanding. it is legal in texas to carry a firearm in a holster. trump said he hadding an advocate for gun rights if he became president. hillary clinton does not have any public events scheduled for this weekend, but a democrat party forum in phoenix arizona is taking place between her supporters and bernie sanders supporters. they are talking about how to shape the environmental platform for the convention next month in philadelphia. keystone's state unemployment rate rose .2%. the state labor department points out that thousands of

low, 85 degrees by 2:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m., 85. we start come back down later this evening, temperatures into the low to mid 70s. thank you for the update. 6:32 police are back at a bucks county home today where a dozen girls were rescued, ages of months to 18 years old. three people this morning are behind bars including the man police say fathered who kids with the teen. that teen's parents are also locked up. we have team coverage, dann cuellar has it is details on this -- has the details on the disturbing crime. >> reporter: this is 51-year-old lee kaplan charged with assault of an 18-year-old girl and related offenses. police went to the home on child welfare concerns. they found him living in the tiny house with 12 females raging -- ranging in age of

months to 18 years old. according to the criminal complaint, kaplan admitted he sired a child now 3 years old when she was 14 and sired an additional child now 6 months. he tells authorities that the girl's parents daniel stoltzfus and savilla stoltzfus gifted the girl to him after he helped them out of financial ruin. authorities have found in evidence that the other girls were sexually assaulted. in addition to kaplan, the former amish couple are in jail for related offenses because they knew kaplan was having sex

with the girl and did nothing about it. they are being held each on $1 million bail. >> neighbors of lee kaplan say for years they knew something was not right. jen betts filed complaints in the past, neighbors complained 6 months ago when an infant was brought into the home, on wednesday she called the child abuse hot line. >> i wasn't going to let go, i saw children in the driveway they looked unhappy and sad, again in the blue dresses. >> neighbors are relieved that their years of questioning are over and that the girls are safe. daniel and savilla stoltzfus have been living in the rented farmhouse in quarryville. some of the neighbors are shocked hearing the details of their arrest. >> i don't think something like that would happen around here. >> this has been a quiet area. >> reporter: "action news" has obtained court documents that showed the couple had a bitter falling out in 2003 with the amish church that ended up with the home being seized and their business going under. stoltzfus declared themselves born again christians. in court documents, the bucks county d.a. said they quote gifted their then 14-year-old daughter to lee kaplan for helping the family out of financial ruin. i spoke with their 19-year-old son john at the house, he said his folks are quote, good parents. another quarryville neighbor told me this unfolding story about daniel stoltzfus and his

everyone, 6:55 saturday morning, looks like a nice, quiet weekend for the delaware and the lehigh valleys. everybody east of the mississippi river, we have high pressure firmly in control there's philadelphia right there. high pressure sitting right here. high pressure usually acts like a protective dome. the winds blow in a clockwise fashion around the high. so all the storms will be out here over the next few days, this is where the air mass is a little unstable. there's a couple of frontal systems out there. as long as the high is over top of us you can't get the thunderstorm activity in here. the high will drift to the southeast over the next few days, by tuesday, everything shifts and we get into some of the active weather, some of the showers and storms. from now until then it looks
