weather headlines, beautiful weekend overall, today and tomorrow, turns hotter by monday, all of a sudden the 90s return it will be more humid that will trigger showers and storms monday night into tuesday, the weather will turn more active next week. when i come back in just a few minutes, i'll have the details in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. gray. >> look forward to it, chris, 7:02 a.m. police in bucks county will be back at a home where 12 young girls were rescued. police say a gurgle was gifted to a man when she was 14 years old. he father's day two children with the teenager. the man has been identified. here he is 51-year-old lee kaplan. the girl is 18 years old and the mother of a 3-year-old and 6-month-old. kaplan faces statutory sexual assault. the girl's parents, daniel and savilla stoltzfus gave their daughter to kaplan as a gift for helping them out of financial

ruin. kaplan researched legality of it on the internet. kaplan and her parents are being held on $1 million bond. jen, a woman who drives by the home on 100 block of old street road in feasterville she sometimes sees young girls standing in blue dresses outside. >> whenever i would see the small children, all girls, never little boys, my heart would break because they looked unhappy. >> reporter: the stoltzfus are the parents of the 9 other children in the home. they are in the custody of youth services in lancaster county. jeff chirico has the latest. >> i've been telling my house for years something is not right. >> reporter: jen betts said she filed complaints before but never had proof that something criminal was happening inside the house she passed each day.

>> i saw a couple of girls last week standing in the driveway, they just looked unhappy and sad again in the blue dresses. >> they would be in their dresses, and stuff, i thought was odd, the way they were dwressed we're -- dressed. betts said she complained 6 months ago when the infant was brought to the home. stunned neighbors say police rescued 12 girls thursday news of what lee kaplan did inside the walls leaves them struggling to understand. >> who would give up their own child and for money, like are you serious? >> reporter: as police investigate neighbors say they are relieved that years of questioning are over and the children are safe. >> i was crying all morning, i feel like finally, finally they

will get to where they need to be and this alleged abuse stops. >> reporter: police have marked the home off as a crime scene. betts said she was intent on trying to figure out whatever is going on inside the house, that two years ago on halloween she knocked on the door so she could peek inside. no one did answer the door. the neighbors said a huge weight has been lifted and their thoughts are with the young girls. >> police say daniel and savilla stoltzfus gave lee kaplan their 14-year-old daughter after having a bitter fallout with the amish community. the fallout led to the couple's home being seized for sheriff sale. they blame the amish church for their financial problems, then they declared themselves born again christians. they of the gifted their -- they

wawa the man started to run. the suspect chased the man for three blocks to juniper street where they shot him in the leg. the suspect ran to the 200 block of south 15th street where they tried to rob another man, they fired at him, but they missed. >> we're early in the investigation, this whole ordeal should be on camera. there's good cameras up here in center city basically from broad and walnut. >> the man who was shot we are told is in his mid 20s he is in jefferson university hospital in stable condition. delaware state leaders are closing the delaware academy in new castle. that school will not reopen in the fall. the delaware state board of education accepted the recommendations of the charter school accountability committee to revoke the school's charter. state leaders cited low enrollment and low funding. it was back to the drawing

years are in protective custody. we have team coverage for you, we begin with dann cuellar. >> reporter: this is 51-year-old lee kaplan charged with sexual assault and related offenses. southampton police went to the home on the report of child welfare concern. they found him living in the tiny house with 12 females, raging in age 6 months to 18 years old. >> interviewing the children we learned that an 18-year-old had a 3-year-old child and 6 mold child with the adult ---month-old child living with the adult. >> reporter: he sider a child with the girl -- sired a child with the girl what she was 14 years. daniel stoltzfus and his wife savilla stoltzfus had come to an agreement that the girl would be gifted to him.

stoltzfus stated that the daughter was gifted to lee kaplan and got them out of financial ruin and kept them from losing their farm. they sent 9 of their children to live with kaplan after losing their farm anyway. they found none of the other girls were sexually assaulted. the former amish couple are in jail for related offenses knowing that kaplan was having sex with the girl and did nothing about it. each is being held on $1 million bail. in feasterville, bucks county. dann cuellar channel 6 "action news." >> neighbors said they knew something was not right, jean betts filed complaints in the past. a neighbor complained 6 months ago when an infant was brought into the home and on wednesday she called the child abuse hot line. >> i wasn't going to let go, i
