good afternoon we begin with breaking news from delaware county. a massive manhunt for the man that shot a fullcroft police officer. he was ambushed and shot multiple time at the intersection of providence and oak streets. the wounded officer is rushed to the hospital. our live team coverage begins with "action news" reporter, john rawlins, joining us live from the scene with the latest. >> reporter: i'm at elmwood. to the right is the fullcroft train station and to the left is the police station to the left of me is where the activity has been. it's an active police situation, a contingent of heavily armed delivers were in an armered vehicle and are now out of sight and moved to the left season right and seem to be getting

ready to take some sort of action. they look like they are about to lay siege to some building back there. a 26-year-old police officer was responded to a report of drug activity. we are told he was ambushed and shot multiple times and he is now in the hospital in critical but stable condition. that triggered the massive manhunt around the train station and police station, various departments are involved and the feds and atf are here. we talked to a person some block as way and he was near an open window and heard three rapid shots fired this morning and a short pause of seconds and followed by four rapid shots and then later heard sirens, all of this occurred at 10:00 this morning, he looked up at the clock as soon as he heard the gunshots. we are adjacent to the railroad

here, and both amtrak and septa trains are suspended because of the proximity to the crime scene. we have not so far heard from any officials at this point. that may change, we are told sometime between now and 1:00 we may hear from some officials at a nearby school center, they are having a briefing. we'll await word from there. this is still and remains apparently an active police situation. john rawlins, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. our team coverage continues at penn presbyterian hospital where the officer is being treated. gray hall joins us with and update. >> reporter: as you know we are working hard to bring you the latest information on this breaking news story. but the most up to date information about this 26-year-old officer's condition is that he is listed in critical

but stable condition and initial reports say he was shot three times but now we are hearing he was shot seven times. lets set the scene, here where the officer is recovering, we don't know this officer's name. he is 26 years old, there are several officers on the scene showing support for the injured officer and we shot video, we counted about a dozen officers on the scene here, and at times we see officers running inside the hospital to check on the condition of the officer. again a 26-year-old officer shot in furoft. he was rushed here to penn presbyterian. in philadelphia. and again a strong show of support here, and it's interesting to see the officers

all right recapping our top story this morning. the shooting of a folcroft police officer, the manhunt continues for the suspect that shot the officer several times. they are combing the area at elmwood. he shot the officer 26 years old and only a year on the force, the officer is in critical but stable condition. "action news" crews are at both locations, we'll bring you updates throughout the newscast and a news conference that we expect to happen within the hour. >> funeral services are being held for akyra murray, the philadelphia teenager shot and killed during the orlando nightclub massacre. friends and family gathered to say good-bye to the promising 18-year-old.

katherine scott is live outside of the monumental baptist church with more on the tribute. >> reporter: the church is packed with people here to remember 18-year-old akyra murray, many are wearing red because it was her favorite color and her teammates are in their basketball jerseys, the funeral is going on now for this daughter, sister and friend. first viewing and then the funeral for 18-year-old akyra murray. >> she was a real nice young lady. >> akyra was at club pulse with her friend patience and tiara. all three hid in a bathroom and all three were shot and akyra did not survive. patience and tiara are still recovering from their injuries
