identified a woman kill by a cross bow inside her northeast philadelphia home. authorities are searching for a vehicle stolen during an armed carjacking outside a local apartment complex. the big story on "action news" this noon is the supreme court issuing the most important decision on abortion in nearly 25 years. the justices voted to strike down restrictions on abortion providers in texas. meghan hughes reports from the high court in washington. >> reporter: good afternoon, a huge win for the clinics and the women they represent. justice briar writing the authority opinion saying it placed undue restrictions on abortion access. justice kennedy held the key vote it set a precedent for the country. the justices heard arguments in early march, the first major case after justice scalia who

on certain types of domestic violence offenses and overturned the conviction of virginia governor. the police officer who was shot several times is getting out of the hospital soon. officer christopher dorman is expected to be released from penn e presbyterian center where katherine scott is live with an update on his recovery. >> reporter: officer christopher dorman has been seen doctors all morning, we know he has been cleared for release and expected to leave around 2:00 p.m. folcroft officer christopher dorman was shot seven times, three days later he is expected to head home an unbelievable turn around for the 25-year-old patrolman hit in the face, four times in the chest and one time in the leg and groin. police believe his bullet-proof vest saved his life.

authorities say officer christopher dorman confronted a man at a folcroft apartment complex, a struggle ensued. the suspect drew a gun and opened fire. the kenny chesney fan received a phone call from the country superstar from his hospital room. the hope that he can now continue to recover in his own home. the suspect donte brooks island was recently released from prison for drugs and firearms. else being held on one million dollars bail. his next court appearance is early next month. officer christopher dorman served as a volunteer firefighter, when he leaves today it will be with police and fire escort back to folcroft will he will continue to heal. >> stay with "action news" always officer christopher

meteorologist, david murphy joins us at the "action news" big board. >> reporter: sarah on storm tracker 6 live double scan we're starting to pick up showers in pottstown, gettysburg and no lightning yet, but this looks like a thunderstorm that's beginning to pop. not looking at anyone strong storms, but you want to take cover from lightning if you see it. we have a cold front to the north and west slowly working in our direction, ahead of it, we are starting to draw the southwesterly air up and that's humid air to the south. we'll feel the humidity levels rise and eventually we'll see the showers and pop-up thunderstorms make its way closer to us. looks like the best chance of seeing this today is in the northern and western suburbs not so much philadelphia south and east. we'll cloud up, but it's about a sunny start. you can see the clouds with the rain showers getting closer to us, and we'll push cloud cover

philadelphia before midnight. police say an armed man broke into his former girlfriend's home. the new boyfriend shot and killed the man in the kitchen. the alleged shooter fled, but was apprehended by police nearby. two children ages 8 and 10 were asleep upstairs during the shooting. philadelphia police have identified the woman shot and killed with a cross bow inside her northeast philadelphia home. investigates say 42-year-old pamela nightlinger died from her injuries an hour after the incident. police were called to the 3100 block of willits road at county 930. a witness identify her husband as the suspect. he is in police custody right now. annie mccormick will have more details on the investigation ahead in the live report at 12:30 p.m. police had to break up a fight during a wedding reception in burlington county. at least one person was taken

exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. it's getting more humid out there. >> reporter: it is, as we go through the next several hours, certainly, sarah. storm tracker 6 live double scan we have a hint of pop up precipitation well to the north and west of the area. you can see green showing up and red and yellow near harrisburg and pottstown. it will be a while before this stuff pushes closer to us. from 3:00 p.m. on allentown, reading, and lancaster you have a shot of picking up a spotty shower or thunderstorm. most of that stays off to the north and west today. as we take a look outside, we have sky6 live hd and the beach. i'm surprised there's not more people out there. i guess some people are sleeping in or making their way down the shore. it's not going to rain at the shore, it will cloud up and get humid. 79 degrees, the dewpoint which
