in mercer county, back on april 19 and dr. steven mayer superintendant for robbinsville schools and his dog were hit and killed. the girl behind the wheel now 1 years old was charged with death by auto and leaving the scene of the accidents. police say she was talking on her cell phone before the crash. a convicted kidnapper is headed to jail for three decades for snatching a woman off the street and taking her to maryland. and it was all caught on video. john rawlins is live from center city with the story. >> reporter: hi brian, the defendant spoke first in court saying he accepted responsibility for the crime and then began to cry, if he is truly remorseful he'll have plenty of time to think about it with a sentence of 420 months. the victim has completed her schooling but also diagnosed

"action news" delaware valley's leading news program. with ducis rogers, meteorologist, cecily tynan and jim gardner. >> thursday night the trump campaign vetted governor, chris christie for vice president and four atlantic city casinos reach a deal with workers to avert a strike. but the big story on "action news" is the charging of an 18-year-old female in the hit and run death of a school superintendant. it was back on april 19 and when robbinsville school chief robert mayer was killed while jogging before the start of school.

today the mercy county prosecutor charged the driver with a serious host of crimes. trish hartman is live in robbinsville with the full story. >> reporter: the name of that 18-year-old driver is being withheld because she was a juvenile at the time of crash, but today she was charged with death by auto and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and during and around the time of the death, she was talking on her cell phone. authorities say 52-year-old dr. steven mayer, superintendant of robbinsville schools was jogging with his dog dutch on april 19th. now police say that a 17-year-old student was talking on her cell phone on the morning where she struck and killed mayer and his dog amile from the high school. she was headed to the school early for a class trip and police say she fled the scene after the crash. >> he
