of course many people like to celebrate the occasion by heading to the jersey shore. no matter where you go or how you celebrate, mother nature is cooperating this weekend. meteorologist karen rogers joins us outside with a look at accuweather. hi, karen. >> reporter: today is an a-plus forecast with a lot of the bs. it's bright, beautiful and breezy. the storms are long gone from yesterday. the breeze is beautiful. the dewpoints are down. yesterday we had dewpoints in the 70s it was oppressively humid. for the today we dropped into the 50s, it's nice and comfortable not just today, but tomorrow, as well. 56 in the poconos, 65 in reading, allentown, 70 currently in philadelphia. 67 in trenton. 68 this millville. 73 down in cape may. here's what to expect today. it's mostly sunny and less humid. we have a nice warm high of 84.

delaware. action cam was in rehoboth beach yesterday. we found people enjoying the sand and the surf and the boardwalk. spectacular fireworks display very poplar way to enjoy the 4th of july. jeff chirico was there to see it all, and he talked to people who were celebrating the 4th in philadelphia. >> reporter: the 4th of july weekend launched with a bang, fireworks lit up the sky over penns landing while the ben franklin bridge showed off its patriotic colors. the philadelphia orchestra, start started the night with the concert featuring bobby hill who gained fame after his impromptu performance with pope francis last year. >> it is magic feeling this is where it happens. >> reporter: at river rink the slight breeze helped break the humidity for folks who spent the

"action news" was at citizens bank park in south philadelphia last night for a fireworks show to kick off the holiday weekend. the display followed the win against the kansas royals. there will be another fireworks show after tonight's game, as well. if you're looking for a fireworks show this weekend head to our website 6abc.com and there you will find a list of local events broken down by state and county and times and locations for july 4th festivities. your time, 7:05. firefighters are searching right now for a person inside a burned out home in morton, delaware county. another person has already been pulled from the house on the 600 block of cedar street. 911 calls came in at 5:00 a.m. this morning. crews found heavy flames when they arrived on the scene. officials have not released the

details of the condition of the fire victim taken out of the of home. workers in atlantic city, plan to be on the boardwalk this holiday weekend, they are enjoying the holiday or working, they are picketing the casino. workers from trump taj mahal plan to be on the pick line for a second day, they are demanding that the casino restore their healthcare and pension plans that were terminated by the bankruptcy court two years ago. they hope that the strike during the busy 4th of july holiday will put pressure on the struggling casino. the casino is open for the holiday. there will be not any road construction projects happening in new jersey because governor chris christie has ordered them to be shut down after a gas tax failed to pass. here's what that means, the state transportation trust fund has lost its authority to borrow money. govern chris christie's executive order affects all

roadwork not considered quote absolutely essential. this morning, detectives are look for the man who stabbed a person to death in south philadelphia learcht. this was -- last night. this was the scene south 61st after so p.m. the victim was stabbed in the neck and chest he was rushed to penn presbyterian for treatment. he did not survive. police recovered a weapon at the scene. there is no information about a suspect. attorney general loretta lynch is expressing her regrets over her meeting that she had with bill clinton. lynch and clinton had an information meeting earlier this week aboard her plane on the tarmac at the phoenix airport. that has caused a major firestorm because of hillary clinton use of a private e-mail server while she was secretary of state. she is under federal investigation. >> i wouldn't do it again,

morning an allegheny probation officer finds himself on the other side of the law. he is accused of using his authority for personal gain. he made deals with several women he was supervising in change for sexual favors. one woman said she was afraid if she did not comply she would go to jail. you have to look at this video, a woman in california became the victim of a thief. the crime happened under her nose, take a look at the surveillance video. the woman is at the pump, the thief got into her car through the unlocked drivers side door and snatched her wallet in the front passenger seat. he got away, with her purse. all right there will be no

with us on saturday morning, the hostage standoff in the bangladesh capitol of dhaka is over. isis is claiming responsibility for it. forces stormed the restaurant in the diplomat zone early this morning. 6 attackers were killed. 13 of the hostages were rescued during the police raid. authorities say all of the victims inside the restaurant were foreign nationals. strong storms moved through the area yesterday, they produced hail for parts of the area.
