scattered precipitation pattern. you're starting out wet. some of the showers reaching toward atlantic city. the south jersey shore and a good portion of delaware from smyrna, south in and out of showers during the morning. 69 degrees is the current temperature in philadelphia. 61 in allentown. 64 in trenton. 64 in wilmington, 69 degrees in cape may with those showers down south through dover and through cape may and a good portion of coastal south jersey, the dewpoints are low in most of the areas, in the 50s which the -- which is not considered humid air. the exception down south where you have the rain with the dewpoints higher and the rain in cape may anticipate back toward dover. in most of the areas, you can get a workout just fine, 9:00 a.m., 75 degrees, low human combl conditions and sun -- comfortable conditions and sun and high clouds. noon, 78, starting to get warm,

service rolled along as usual for saturday. passengers at suburban safety say they couldn't tell a third of the fleet had been taken out of service, they fear returning to work on tuesday, however, could be a different story. >> a third of the fleet? it's going to be chaos and pandemonium. that's when i expect. >> it will be harder to find a seat and stuff. >> reporter: septa recalled 120 silver line cars because of a structural defect discovered friday there's a part under the cars that need to be manufactured before the vehicles return to the rails. passengers traveling in and out of the city for the 4th of july festivities won't be affected, but the car shortage will continue into the workweek and possibly all summer. travel will be difficult for you're a commuters. >> it's a quick ten minute train ride, but without 120 trains it will be harder.

>> reporter: early on the cars assembled at a plant in south philadelphia were plagued by quality control and design problems. 6 years after the first cars hit the rails there's another glitch which has commuters planning ahead. >> i will be leaving earlier. >> reporter: matt that you mitchell of the association of rail passengers tells me the problem has to do with the truck that's the part underneath the car that holds the axle and wheels and motor in place. that's why it could take all summer for this to be resolved. septa plans to hold a news conference at 2:00 p.m. to discuss the problem and lay out its contingency plan. >> we'll have the news conference at 6abc.com. if you're just waking up, the inner lanes of the benjamin franklin parkway is shut down between 20th and eakens oval.

shore. reporting in longport, trish hartman channel 6 "action news." >> a shore getaway turned tragic for an 8-year-old boy and his father. they were on a jet ski in the patcong river that collided with another jet ski as they rounded a curve. a 55-year-old woman on the other jet ski had an injured wrist. >> new this morning, quick action from philadelphia police officers could not save a man shot in the head overnight. officers found the 24-year-old victim wounded in the 3500 block of marshall street in hunting park. officers rushed him to temple university hospital. he died at 11:00 p.m. investigators are looking for the shooter and trying to figure out the motive. fbi agents have taken their final step into the investigation of the hillary clinton e-mails. they have interviewed the

west. you'll be on the damp side. every now and then, rain coming through. as we look outside we have cloudy skies over in delaware, generally speaking we're looking at more sunshine the farther north you go today. the more cloud cover the farther south you work through the region. temperatures, 69 degrees, the dewpoint is not bad in philadelphia and wilmington and most of the region. it's comfortable out there. wind out of the northwest in general, although they are calm in philadelphia. as you look at satellite and radar view, the wide view, the batch of rain steady, we'll break it down into more of a spotty precipitation, this rain may slide farther south as we go into the morning arena -- and afternoon. generally speaking the farther north you go it will be

brighter. we are clouds to the south. 78 degrees by noon, humidity low across the region. 3:00 p.m., 82 is the high today a little bit below average and comfortable overall. high temperatures, # 2 -- 82 in in in allentown. mid 70s in millville. 70 ts down the shore. showers to the south, someone mixing with clouds to the north. surf city, high 75 degrees, 76 in ac. uv index could be moderate to high the farther north you go. cape may's high 75. getting up to 77 in bethany beach. phillies and royals wrapping up their series at the ballpark, 1:35 p.m. the start time. sun and clouds at the ballpark. 80 degrees for the first pitch, 81 in the 9th inning. the high of 82 around the 6th

inning. humidity on the low side. comfortable day at the ballpark today. for the 4th of july, our main short range model is not pushing rain for tomorrow. obviously we'll get clouds increase, by 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. there's a chance of spotty sprinkle or shower. we get into the evening, this model holds off rain until a after the fireworks are done. there's this model, the european that brings spotty light precipitation in by 3:00 p.m. by 8:00 p.m. when you're seeing fireworks there's a chance of showers around. this is a lower resolution model, so i can't say the entire region will be getting rain, but you get the-year-old the showers are moving in faster on that model. my advice for the 4th of july, keep an eye on the forecast. warm high of 81 in philadelphia. late day and nighttime showers are possible in a few spots, keep your eye on the forecast in case that wetter model works out

police tried to rescue the victims found inside. the intense heat and flames prevented police and firefighters from reaching the husband and wife. they are identified as theodore and barbara fine both 58 and owners of slack hoagie shop in springfield. >> my belief they got down to the first floor inside the front doorway and got a lung, breath full of super heated gas and smoke and at this point were rendered unconscious. >> reporter: the fire started in the rear of the house where a meat smoker was operating ahead of a planned weekend picnic. one propane tank ruptured and started the fire. neighbors remember them as a kind hearted couple who supported their community. signs thanked the couple for doe dating to various causes. >> they were good to the high school and nice to the people who went into the shop all the time. >> i go to the shop to get food all the time. she liked the salon she would

of the region. down south we have early morning showers popping through. in some cases you get a bout of steadier rain highlighted in yellow. cape may is in the sprinkle category or lighter category right now. for the next couple of hours we're looking at on and off showers and sprinkles popping through. after that we'll have cloudy skies and occasional showers. as we look outside, we have cloudy skies over the commodor barry bridge. you can see the farther north up the river, the better chance you have of brightening conditions. the bank of clouds breaks up north of philadelphia. you see evidence of a that and even directly over the bridge. there's holes in the clouds and chance of sun breaking through. 69 degrees fairly comfortable humidity on the low side. 64 in wilmington. 64 in trenton. 61 in allentown. cool and comfortable no threat of rain up north. 64 in millville. it's the southern areas that may be in and out of shower activity

as we go through the day. the wide view shows you the main batch is what's coming through right now. out to the west it's more of a broken parent and it may be thinks get better in the afternoon. up in the lehigh valley, sun and clouds, a pleasant day high of 82 low humidity, down the shore we are looking at highs in the mid 70s and the farther north you go along the coast, the better chance you have of staying dry, the farther south you go, the better chance you have of spotty showers and it's raining pretty good in spots right now. the farther north, the uv index will be higher, the farther south, the better chance of it being low. in philadelphia, sun and high clouds, occasionally thicker stuff. i think generally the farther north you are from philadelphia, the more sun you see, the farther south, the more clouds. 82 degrees is the high, low humidity. not a bad day. if you're heading to the ballgame, phillies trying to win

a rubber match with the royals. 80 degrees for the first pitch, 81 in the 9th inning, high of 82. overnight partly clothed skies, still comfortable, a low of 66 degrees. winds on the light side, anne probably staying fairly comfortable in terms of humidity. here we go for tomorrow. we're looking at sunshine quickly giving way to clouds on most models. through the morning this local model keeps us dry until 11:30 a.m. or lunchtime. we get into the afternoon, there's a chance of a light spotty shower around. the question is what happens in the evening. this is the model you will enjoy because it holds off on the rain until after the fireworks are done at 11:30 p.m. there's a chance of heavy pockets coming in overnight. there are other models this happens to be the european. by 2:00 p.m. it has spotty shower activity coming in. by 8:00 p.m. most of the region is under the threat of a spotty
