>> reporter: hi walter. we have seen an increase in the crowd here over past hour or so. police officers have been here for quite sometime in anticipation of the protest. i want to give you a a live look what is going on behind me. you can see strong police presence and then just down the road here and on the corner you see protesters gathering. we have seen maybe a couple dozen, actually growing, by the minute but they are supposed to start marching here to the 24th and 25th police district about a mile and a half away north of here, to gather there. the goal, according to the organization, kind offsetting all of this up, they are the coalition for real justice, they want to disrupt traffic as well as movement outside of that police district, however, they are saying they are not going to do anything. joining me is mr. michael mccara, you are inspector for east division here can you tell me about how you all have prepared for is what the fourth protest we have seen in the last few days.

>> as an organization we plan and trained for protests and, the part of our part in this is to ensure the safety of those protesting, ensure that they have an environment that they can exercise their first amendment right and to to so in a safe atmosphere. officers you see here are to ensure that, are going to ensure that they are safe and that we're able to kind of monitor their progress as they move forward. we're just here as a safety mechanism. >> reporter: because of the tragedy that happened in dallas, how does that impact or complicate how you all go about this, is there a extra precaution. >> all of our officers, i would like to think, officers national thely, are cautious to begin with. i believe that the heroic efforts, in the dallas officers to protect those protesters under fire, these officers, these men and women you'll see here today would do the same thing. the as such we're always on guard and with safety being our paramount goal.

philadelphia are prepared. >> i think the police here are awesome. they have improved with the community relations, a lot over the past few years. but that doesn't hurt to be prepared. >> organizers also discussed what to expect if you're arrested and how to post bail. three more sessions are scheduled over the coming weeks. we have some developing news from the germantown section of the city where police are investigating the stabbing of a 13 year-old girl. that occurred at 3:00 p.m. along the 5200 block of marion street. investigators say she was stabbed once in the side of the neck. the girl was taken to einstein hospital in stable condition, so far, no arrests have been made. five investigators are or fire investigators are piecing together clues at the scene of the fire that ripped through a block of row homes in the cobbs creek section of philadelphia in the end a dozen homes were severely damaged. homes, trish? >> reporter: that is right, walter, neighbors spent the day cleaning up after fire tore through these row homes here on larchwood street. well, take a look at the damage behind me. now investigators are trying to figure out if several fires in this area overnight are connected. crews worked to clear some of the damage after fire, tore through the 5800 block of larchwood street. >> fire was coming in, of course, behind me, forces behind me. >> reporter: troy reid was tend to go his one week old son around 1:00 a.m. when a glow across the street caught his eye. >> i ran outside, started banging on the doors yelling for people to get out of the house. >> reporter: fire fighters say blaze started on the porch and then quickly spread. a dozen homes were damaged either by flames or smoke and water. >> they say they will have to take the whole porch down and tear up the porch, tear up my living room, dining room ceiling. >> reporter: around the corn are white pickup truck sits totaled. janet carter said her husband's truck was struck and

meteorologist melissa magee has the accu weather forecast, we're bracing forstrom i weather tonight. >> we are under a slight risk for severe weather in certain location as cross the region but things do improve for the better as we get into sunday, walter. we will talk about the details right now. here's storm tracker six double scan radar, we are tracking this cluster to the south of philadelphia, now you press nothing to area of south jersey and this is essentially the same location where we had that flood advisory until 8:15 because we have a lot of rain

in a short amount of time. we will go tighter on street level with storm tracker six, 40 lightening strikes associated with this cluster that is currently to the south of woodstown, where we are picking up that heavy rain, same thing for sale em, press nothing to bridgeton and just to the north of bay side at this hour. for new castle, gloucester, salem, cumberland county, would i anticipate strong showers and storms until 6:15:45 this evening. the these storms are capable of producing an inch of rainfall in less than a half an hour and it is moving east at the 30 miles an hour, so we will continue to track it, and as we go throughout the rest of the evening hours. and improvement comes, as we get into sunday. currently outside in philadelphia we're coming in at 77 after a high today of 79 . seventy-five in allentown. eighty-two in reading. seventy-nine in dover. at the coast in cape may 75 and 81 in millville. the here's satellite six with action radar. you can see upper level low with the trailing cold front that is currently moving through.

as it moves through we will be dodging some showers, storms, at least for the early half of the evening hours. call from accu weather for rest of tonight, early shower or rumble of thunder, cloud will be breaking as we go throughout the overnight hours. we will drop down to 65 in the suburbs and 72 degrees in philadelphia for overnight low. here's future tracker six, you can see by 8:00 tonight we will have showers scattered about from the poconos down through philadelphia into south the jersey, also into delaware at that time. 9:30 or 10:00 o'clock tonight that moisture will move on out from the west to east direction, and then clearing comes as we go throughout the day on sunday. 7:00 in the morning clouds and some sunshine, that upper level low is still overhead. i wouldn't be surprised as the day wears on that will take up a spotty shower mainly north and east of the i-95 corridor but overall a much improved day for sunday. here's the setup for tomorrow. high pressure works its way in the region. humidity drops. we have got that calm, refreshing northwesterly wind, ten to 20 miles an hour.
