news, police arrested a man wanted in a deadly shooting in salem county. new jersey governor chris christie is getting ready to campaign with donald trump later this afternoon. but the big story on "action news" this noon is effort to ease troubles on the regional rails. today septa began running a new interim schedule designed to cut back on overcrowding and delays. but even with those changes riders could be feeling the squeeze, all throughout the summer. "action news" reporter catherine scott joins us live from ardmore with the update on the situation, in the suburbs today. catherine? >> reporter: rick, it depend on where you are, septa says using leased equipment shortened wait times and you can see right now in ardmore it is pretty quiet but this morning during rush hour there were still some problems, overcrowding and delays across the system. some stations were once again bypassed by pack trains. still problems on the regional rails. with amtrak trains, holding to bryn mawr this morning one of the pieces of equipment septa

has on loan. today is first day of the new interim schedule which comes after septa announced plans to lease equipment from amtrak, new jersey transit, and maryland area regional commuter train services. >> i would hope that would help cut down the overcrowding, and maybe make it so they are not so delayed. >> this is just hoping that it comes on time. >> reporter: you can see leased vehicles along paoli thorndale and trenton lines including here in ardmore. septa lost a third of the regional rail fleet after serious crack where is found in the suspension systems. that translated in to 13,000 fewer seats. officials a 18 additional cars and three locomotives hit the track is today to ease overcrowding and delays. the leased equipment means 1700 more seats then last week but that still leaves a significant seat shortage. the hope at least this week is better than last week. >> last week, not too good. >> i don't know if it will be significant. i think it will help, of

course, more trains, less crowded. they were very crowded. >> reporter: over in glenside today's new schedule meant digsal service between glenside and center city. commuter says leaving early helps as does staying flexible because there is no overnight fix to this. >> it will be a long hall. we dealt with this before with strikes but it has always been week, maybe two weeks, you know, at the nose, but it is going to be a couple months. >> reporter: on that note septa is still urging ride tours use the broad street line. use the market frankford line. use buses, trolleys, some other means of transportation, and ease crowding and ease the the delays. we are live from ardmore, catherine scott, channel six "action news", rick. the dallas police department is planning to hold a large vigil later tonight for the five police office hours died in last week's ambush. today investigators are learning more about the gun man. abc's kenneth moton reports from dallas where chief of police just held a news conference. >> reporter: dallas police chief david brown just gave an update on the investigation

with the blaze. >> i loved my son with all of my heart. you hate what he did. >> reporter: investigators say the army vet took self-defense sources and did tactical drills at home. they believe johnson was planning a bigger plot but he moved up his plans because of last weeks police killings of two black men. after johnson's two hour standoff talking to officers police used a robot with a bomb to take him out. >> i did believe it was warranted. it saved lives. it was a tragedy for more officers to lose their lives. >> reporter: memorials, vigils and hugs have taken over dallas. unity will be on full display tonight, police department will host that candle light vigil. the it is being called dallas strong. reporting from dallas, kenneth moton for channel six "action news". thank you, kenneth. activist took to the streets of the center city philadelphia this morning to protest what they say is an epidemic of black men being killed by police. about 150 protesters rallied at city hall, peaceful protest took to the streets, the

weather. i will not worry about that return of heat and humidity until it gets here which won't be too much longer. lets look at satellite and radar. we are as you said just a gorgeous summer afternoon now. you can see morning was sunny with lack of any real significant cloud cover. there could be a little bit more high thin cloud cover streak nothing as the day goes on but generally speaking we will call this a mostly sunny afternoon. the temperatures are zooming. we are up to 80 degrees in philadelphia you will start moving around, working, jogging you will want cool drinks. seventy-six in allentown. seventy-nine in reading. seventy-seven in trenton. eighty in wilmington. down the shore 76 degrees in cape may. very nice day at the shore. the best news of all, it is warm and yeah, we have that warm sunshine too but the dew points are in the 50's in most neighborhoods and anything below 60 is not considered humid. outside of the shore, some areas far down south we are really feeling pretty comfortable. at the pool this afternoon don't forget sun screen obviously but enjoy yourself. humidity is low. honor about 85 degrees at two

virginia beach around 1:00 o'clock. the christie is on trump's list of possible picks for vice-president. other potential running mates have tried campaigning with trum in recent weeks as well. on the democratic side, hillary clinton and former rival bernie sanders are getting ready for their first campaign events together. sanders will appear with clinton during a rally with which new hampshire on tomorrow. he has not yet said he will endorse clinton but yesterday sanders say the two campaigns are slowly but surely coming together. governor tom wolf says pennsylvania will have a budget tonight, with or without a plan to fund it. the assembly met for an unusual weekend session to discuss revenue package that will balance the spending propose am. if lawmakers cannot come up with a compromise by midnight unbalanced budget becomes law anyway. senate minority reader jay costa says governor wolf's decision will keep dollars flowing through schools and other important programs. still to come on "action news" at noon hundreds of

a man wanted for a fatal shooting in salem county, new jersey has turn himself into philadelphia police. police say 31 year-old hakeem williams shot and killed two-year old shydie ingram. williams then drove in in gram's car with the victim's one year-old son inside. child was later found unharmed in the abandoned vehicle in the northern liberties section of philadelphia williams is being held on a million-dollar bail and awaiting extradition to salem county. british prime minister david cameron has announced his departure date following britain's decision to leave european union. cameron says he will officially step down on wednesday. and that will pave way for teresa may to take his place. cameron says it is clear may has overwhelming support of the conservative lawmakers. cameron plans to visit queen on wednesday before, tendering

facing felony arson charges for starting the fire that destroyed several homes and buildings in boulder county, colorado. the authorities say pair left a campfire smoldering in hot, windy conditions on saturday. campfire sparked a massive wild fire that forced nearly 2,000 people to flee their homes. and amazing video out of florida shows a moment single engine plane crash landed in to a lake near orlando, florida. pilot and nine year-old daughter both survived the incident last week. two nearby fisherman helped drag father and daughter from the water moments after the crash. and a new smart phone game caught the attention with police after it was used to commit a crime. investigators say four teenagers in missouri used pokemon go, to lure a group of players to a specific location, to rob them. the smart phone game send players to different places to collect various creatures. detectives say suspects put a beacon and location to draw in the players on purpose. suspects are between ages of

in center city this morning it was an important milestone for 12 military veterans who were trying to make a new start. they graduated from the peco excel on training and employment program and this was the special ceremony congratulating the graduates. this is sixth year for program in which local vets, many of whom are homeless, are taught various skills that allow them to enter the work force and reestablish themselves, in their communities. congrats to them. >> sure is. meteorologist, david murphy back with a very nice monday. >> great weather today and then things start to change tomorrow especially wednesday, rick. storm tracker six live double scan right now shows we are dry, heading outside, we have chopper six high over center city with a beautiful picture on a beautiful weather day across the region. dew points are low and

valley. low humidity there. down the shore decent day, you can beat that, somewhat heat that we have, in play locally 81 degrees is our high in ac. i can see some spots north of atlantic city holding in the 70's, mostly sunny, pleasant, ocean temperature 72 degrees. good news all the way around. closer look at the ocean and we have got 78 in beach haven. eighty-one in ac and 80's from ocean city down to cape may. little bit warmer on the delaware beach and off delaware we're also looking at ocean temperatures in the 70's. the don't forget uv index is running high, as always when sunnies out, latter up that sun screen. today lots of sun in philadelphia, high of 87 degrees. the not all that humid. that 87 is today's average high. wind generally speaking out of the northwest at six to 12 miles an hour overall. then we will go into the evening commute, and unfortunately these numbers do not translate when i rendered this earlier but we are looking at a 4:00 o'clock temperature of 85 degrees and then we will continue to drop in the 70's during mid to late

evening hours. overnight we will be down to 69 degrees, mainly clear and comfortable, wind south east at the five to 10 miles an hour tonight. then tomorrow, we will have high pressure still in control, so it will be fairly sun which a few clouds but position of that high will be off to the east of us, and flow around it is going to bring more southerly ocean flow. now that will, gradually raise that humidity tomorrow. and then on wednesday, it really does get sticky. your exclusive accu weather seven day forecast nice summer day to day. eighty-seven is your high. humidity remaining low. tomorrow a bit more humid, high of 87 or so, lots of sunshine with a few more cloud and just a little will bit more humid out there. not oppressive. then on wednesday, very warm, sticky, close to 90. there is a chance for thunderstorm out west of philadelphia in the afternoon. thursday is where the heat and humidity really comes out in full force. it looks like a steamy day with a high of 92. late day, evening thunderstorms are possible and heat index values will be somewhere between 95 and 100 on thursday.

officers, ambush, in dallas, texas. septa puts more trains on the tracks to alleviate the trouble on the regional rails. and there is a nationwide recall of a pancake mix, because it could make people sick. now, to details, tonight the dallas police department will hold a vigil for five fallen officers killed in that mass shooting last week. it is being called dallas strong. and this afternoon we have learn more details about the ambush on the officers. thirteen officers in all used force against the suspected shooter, 25 year-old micah johnson, and detectives are reviewing 170 hours of body camera videos from the officers who responded to the scene last thursday. officials say that a search of johnson's home last week turned up evidence that shows johnson had a larger attack planned, and he was killed by a bomb delivered by remote controlled robots after negotiations with the authorities broke down. and a new week comes with new protests against
