tonight is breaking news of a scare in center city amid a climate of heightened alert for law enforcement everywhere. an investigation is it now underway at the bellview hotel on south broad street after reports of suspicious people scene on the roof at 7:00 tonight. sources are telling "action news" that at least two suspects have been taken into custody. officials say they may have had smoke bombs and unknown liquid and camera equipment. let's go live now to the scene as you can see emergency personnel are still in front of the bellview. the philadelphia police, firefighters and homeland security are on this skies. the investigation is on. a night of protests against and in support of police. and images from allentown, bethlehem and wilmington and they express their anger and

reporter christie ileto. what did you see there tonight? >> jim, this was a peaceful march that started a couple of blocks away and ended at the intersection with a rally in the middle of the intercession. for one local family, this push for police reform is personal. street. >> we wanted to show our solidarity with what is happening across the nation. >> walking for her brother, jere jeremy. in may they ruled that nothing would be brought against the wilmington officers involved in thinks shooting. his story is one of many that is part of the national conversation. >> when i hear that somebody else gets murdered by police, it's like it's my brother. >> all lives matter. >> we have a responsibility to stand up for people, like all

philadelphia at 6:00 as the group marched down cecil b. moore. and some say it was peaceful. ♪ >> the naacp in bethlehem held a peaceful protest tonight. the group said it wanted to stand in solidarity with the black lives matter movement. dozens of people showed up at the plaza to take part. residents in allentown came together tonight to demand the end of what they call police overkill. the interfaith and multi-cultural rally held outside of allentown city hall. organizers wanted the rally to be a visible force in the community for nonviolence. number of rallies taking place. this one in coolingsdale covered exclusively by "action news." more than 50 people from collingdale and adjacent communities came to applaud the police for their service, to hug them and shake their hands for what they do. the rally in reaction to the hate and violence against police officers, particularly in the weak of the problems in dallas. >> it hit me that we need to get out as what community and pray. get god back into our communities. >> a handful of preachers and reverends played. >> we are here to recognize our police officers, first responders, but also our citizens because that's how we will bring unity. for the officers and the families in dallas, we pray that god's mercy and care will cover their families right now. >> residents who hugged and thanked officers said they felt

an obligation to show their support. >> it doesn't mean that all the cops are evil. there are very good people that are fathers and sons. and i am proud to be because it is our responsibility to make this community a better community. >> it feels really nice to know that we have a community that backs us. it is a rough time for officers right now. and it's definitely good to have the support. >> a lot going on a lot of turmoil going on. we appreciate the support of people coming out. >> ridley park officers hadley shot last year is grateful he survived other than the officers in dallas. >> it really hurts the five families that have to go through a funeral to say good-bye to loved ones, and all they were trying to do is keep peace at a protest. >> tonight the philadelphia police are reporting bomb threats with someone using a fake baby which in reality would be a bomb to blow up the

districts. the incident is currently being investigated by the homeland security unit and the f.b.i. dann cuellar channel 6 "action news." >> thank you, dann. a volunteer firefighter killed this evening in southern delaware when he fell from a helicopter. it happened during a training exercise during the delaware air rescue. and he stepped off the ledge of the chopper and fell. the 46-year-old was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. the police on the scene after triple shooting in southwest philadelphia happening just an hour ago near 60s and baltimore. and the police say one of the victims was shot in the head. they have no word on the condition of any of the victims. two bailiffs in st. joseph, michigan were killed this afternoon after authorities say an inmate in custody wrestled a gun away from an officer and shot them. and they say the inmate was

being moved from a holding cell inside of the courthouse. once the inmate disarmed an officer he opened fire. and two bailiffs were killed and a civilian and deputy were shot but expected to recover. and the inmate took hostages for a couple of minutes before they shot and killed him. >> and a fight occurred with that inmate on the way to the courtroom and that inmate was able to disarm one of the officers. we are still investigating to find out what officer. >> the authorities say the 45-year-old inmate in jail on numerous felony chargings. septa using trains to stay on track for rail requiriders. and releasing trains adding 1700 seats to the modified schedule.

trains were taken out to effect a defect. and you can look at the schedule on 6abc.com. less than an hour now from a new budget taking affect in the commonwealth of philadelphia. but there is a catch. state lawmakers say they will work through the night to find a way to fund the plan. and the governor will let the budget take effect without his signature, but the legislature must come up with hundreds of millions of dollars to fill the gap between the current revenues and the new budget. if they don't, the state will be in violation of a law and vulnerable to yet another downgrade in its credit rating. former philadelphia elementary school principal evelyn cortez sentenced to 10 years probation in a cheating candle, arrested in may of 2014 following allegations that she and teachers at cayuga elementary school changed student answers on the state

perhaps you have heard of pokemon go by now. if you haven't, you're going to be hearing a lot about it in the days and weeks to come. the new game has become a sensation since released in the united states on thursday. the game from nintendo uses the g.p.s. data from smart phones to hunt pokemon in the real world but it is getting some people in trouble fortress passing on business, church and government properties to play. police in philadelphia and other cities are asking players to be respectful. meanwhile nintendo stock up 25% following the 9% jump on friday. the sixers with the night off from summer league play, back in action tomorrow against the golden state warriors. what will we see from ben simmons? so far we have seen a little bit of everything. looking for his shots, finding it for 18 points. assessing his overall play after one week. >> i think i play different attributes, shooting, scoring, defense. i think so far i have done a pretty good job. i have a few more games to go
