section, and the killer has this is yet been found. police say a 19 year-old man was shot to death on a sidewalk near his home last night on the 3100 block of north patton street. police say victim was shot multiple times across the street from where he lived. he was rush to temple university hospital, and he did not survive. and that is not the only shooting under investigation in philadelphia tonight. a 49 year-old man was shot three times near his home in somerdale. police say the man park his car this morning, and was walking to his front door in the 59 hundred block of loretta avenue. he was shot and robbed. he was taken to einstein medical center stable condition. well, we have some sad news to pass along about a member of the a "action news" family. the man who created "action news" in 1970, has died. mel campman was 85 years old. he passed away at his home on tuesday, after battling parkinson's disease.

campman began his tv news career in los angeles but he coined the term "action news" right here at channel six. he worked as a consultant for nearly 30 years in washington d.c., and after hanging up his news hat he opened up a dairy queen in dewey beach. well, despite recent terror attack in nice, france bastille day celebrations went on as planned today in philadelphia a.
