thrown at a cop car, but it doesn't end there. monday night, jim's will be joining us shortly from the republican national convention i'm monica malpass. the big story on "action news" tonight is a a coatsville policeman hospitalized another nursing bruises and suspect in handcuffs. "action news" dann cuellar is only reporter at coatsville police tonight with that full story, dann? >> reporter: monica a 48 year-old police detective is hospitalized in stable condition, following the attack on police, another officer scuffed up but otherwise doing okay tonight. a 29 year-old man is in custody in connection with the attack. this is the cruiser involved in the a tack, windshield smashed by a large rock all capture on the cruiser's dash cam. police say it was 1:50 p.m. that 27 year-old officer jared davis was on patrol in the 500 brook of east lincoln. video then shows a man running toward the car and throwing a large rock smashing the windshield. officer davis maneuvers the car a little bit forward.

>> he proceed to try to pull the vehicle over and note cyst in his mirror that this person is running toward this vehicle. he tries to give him more distance between himself and the suspect, and he gets out of the vehicle and then gentlemen attacks him. >> reporter: police say suspect identified as 29 year-old eric watson, jamaica immigrant, tries to strike officer davis on the head with the large rock. the others responded. one of them a detective was struck in the chest during a scuffle and suffered a broken sternum. >> our officers showed great restraint by subduing this gentlemen by using less than lethal force. they did use the taser on the gentlemen. >> reporter: watson said to lock him up and throw away the key and deport him back to jamaica. he says he has been homeless for the last four years in coatsville. officers has in the seen any attacks on them until now. >> we are height even level of awareness. you know, up until this point we have not experienced anything here specifically in coatsville.

eagles training camp gets underway next week and nelson agholor will be able to focus on football because philadelphia's district attorney seth williams announced after a thorough investigation no charges will be filed against the eagles wide receiver stemming from an alleged sexual assault back in june. agholor attorney has maintained his innocence from the get go. gentleman league okafor will join the select team for work out this week but will not playing scrimmages because sixers decided to limit him to only non-contact drills as he continues to recover from knee surgery to repair his knee back in march. okafor hasn't been back in the gym and yet to participate in any five on five's. all right. thanks. finally philadelphia will shine brightly during next weeks democratic national convention, literally. tonight all of the light on boat house row were replaced.
