of the convention. in other news, the investigation continues into the shooting death of a young man overnight. he was shot and killed just step as way from his house. the search is on for two suspects. "action news" reporter, katherine scott joins us live from the crime scene from the park side section of philadelphia. >> rick that is right, this man was outside of his home when he was attacked. police could not find surveillance cameras but they do have witnesses being interviewed by police. a 22-year-old man gunned down right in front of his park side home. witnesses told police the victim just parked the car outside of his house on the 2200 block of viola street and went inside. a friend was waiting by the car, when the victim came out it happened. >> two males emerged from a vacant lot. both were wearing ski masks and white t-shirts, according to

witnesses both had guns. >> they started firing and chased the victim. >> when the victim collapsed both of shooters stood over the victim and continued to stand over his body and fire shots from point-blank range. >> police say the shooters fled back through the vacant lot and the victim laid in the street with gunshot wounds to his head and chest. he was pronounced dead. and so far police have not released the name of the victim and family members are still being notified. katherine scott, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. it appears that explosives discovered inside a minivan were homemade sticks of dynamite, the bomb squad took them away in german town last night. the 31-year-old driver had two young children in the backseat

hottest air mass of the season coming your way this weekend. 1,000 bails of hay went up in flames, just before 1:30 this morning on the 1300 block of new garden road in new township. the hay bail were stacked. and crews from lancaster and delaware county were called in to fight the flames. it's not clear what sparked the fire. officers with guns drawn swarmed a camden gas station and crews responded to the gulf express at 2:00 this morning. still no word on what prompted the big response but we know that police questioned one person at the scene and k-9 units were sent inside of the store. a minivan was towed from the scene. still to come on "action news" at noon, another brother in blue has been killed in the line of duty, we learn more about the death of a police

the kansas city police department is mourning the loss of one of its own. captain milton was shot in his car yesterday while searching for a suspect in a drive-by shooting. the suspect was caught a few minutes later. back in may the department lost a detective in another shooting. hollywood is mourning the loss of gary marshall, the famed writer and director died yesterday of complications of pneumonia after suffering a stroke. his hits included happy days and laverne and shirley, he directed pretty woman and beaches. he was called a mentor and one

meteorologist, karen rogers back inside with a closer look at the forecast. nicest day of the week do you think? >> i think so. i love the low humidity. if you like the heat and humidity don't worry, your day is coming. looking at stormtracker 6 live double scan around the area we are dry and looking dry and lets head outside and see what is looks like right now. live in atlanta city, and that is the place to enjoy on a day like this. you see the camera shaking a bit with a bit a breeze and a lot of people are on the beach enjoying it. temperature is 84 degrees but feeling good with the low humidity. dew point in philadelphia 55 and cape may and dover, delaware it's sticky. the pressure is holding steady and the winds are out of the east-southeast with a light breeze. and the ocean temperature 66 degrees. satellite 6 along with action radar showing you the little cluster there, we had a cluster of pretty strong storms south and east of the city and early

morning and the 65 miles per hour winds, that is long gone and we are clear with just a few cumulous clouds popping up in the lehigh valley, and i want to show you this look at future tracker 6, this is the look at 3:00, this model showing you a sea breeze and enhanced shower developing inland and extreme southern delaware and southwestern, new jersey. this is not exactly what will happen but i want to show you the possibility of a shower just in those locations, the rest of the region is dry and feeling nice. and i think it even stays drive along the shore. 79 in atlantic city, 80 for rehoboth beach and you see the sea breeze factor and it looks enhanced by the dew points that are high here, that is what is prompting to model to suggest a shower further inland. the rest of the area dry and looking good.
