tonight mike pence makes his first high-profile public appearance since being named donald trump's running mate and he has two major tasks tonight to help unify the party and energize this hall. >> reporter: well, this really will be the big introduction for indiana governor, mike pence, it's a chance for him to talk about his conservative values and how he will work with donald trump a man he does not necessarily agree with on all the issues, we caught up with the delegates and asked pence what they need to do tonight. >> pence spent the night in cleveland. and delegates think trump picked the right man, a conservative expecting to call for unity in

the family of a delaware man shot to death earlier this month appeals today for help finding his killer, the malcolm evans -- was found shot on rut lynn road driving to his job at fedex. >> cried out and just need for the public to focus on getting this person off the street. >> evans was a student at delaware state who dreamed of becoming a doctor and was also an organ donor and now his organs saved four other lives.

philadelphia police want to find the attacker in last week's sexual assault in port richmond and may be linked to another violent crime. surveillance cameras captured him entering a convenience store, this is the rear of 3800 jasper street. the suspect is 5'11" and was driving a blue and black mountain bike and may be a suspect in the murder of a woman 16 blocks away. if you have information please call philadelphia police. police in wildwood new jersey got a big show of support from the community today. the action cam was there, the american legion, presented each officer from the chief right on down with a certificate of thanks. they served up slices of cake and coffee to say thank you and invited everyone to tonight's bingo game as well. a massive fire spread through a mushroom farm in

extended heat wave and longer than the ones we had and more intense. we look at double scan live radar a lot of sunshine today and low humidity and really a beautiful day, the pick of the week and from you outdoors enjoying it, a look at the shot of the action cam, a shot of the schuylkill river here, very stillwater, and you can see at least it looks lush and green, and despite having a ton of green in philadelphia. areas in southern new jersey have been hammered with all the storms, the last couple of months. as we look at the highlights here heat is building in the midsection of the country with excessive heat warnings, heat advisories and this area continues to expand and move to the east as we get into the end of the week and the upcoming weekend, it impacts locally here, it's hot but the humidity is all that oppressive. it starts to build on friday

especially high, the same thing for saturday and it's sunday and monday when the core of that dangerous heat pushes in and turns extreme here for at least two to maybe three days, temperatures now are below normal. 83 in allentown and trenton and wilmington 82 and 80 in millville. upper 70s for the shore community. pleasant at 71 degrees. high pressure is to the west. winds are clockwise and getting the flow out of the north and canada, that really doesn't hold much in the way of humidity. it's not the case with the high slipping to the south, we get on the western part of the high with a bermuda heat pump with the southwesterly wind, it's clear and comfortable, with a gentle breeze to the north and west and mid-60s for the majority of the region and the jersey shore, the heat like you

saw with the heat advisories are in the nation's heartland with the jet stream to the north and the jet stream is pivoting over our region and lifts to the north here later on in the week. allowing the heat and humidity to spill eastward for the mid-atlantic and the southeast and gets captured here for an extended period of time. we are talking about dangerous heat friday through monday, the hottest temperatures we have seen in four years you have to go back to 2012 for the last time for philadelphia to hit 99 degrees or better and when you factor in the humidity especially here sunday and monday, the heat index hitting 100 and 105 degrees. record temperatures are in jeopardy for sunday and monday. and this will create a cumulative affect on the body because it's multiple days of that extreme humidity and in fact, heat is the number one weather related killer in the country, so definitely something you want to take seriously as we
