a process that will end with the nomination of hillary clinton for president. but 46% of the bound delegates in this hall tonight will be casting their ballots for bernie sanders but in a show of utility and unity that is the yellow brick road for the people here, the state of vermont, bernie sanders' home state is expected to nominate clinton by acclimation, making her the first woman nominee of a major political party. that could happen in about 45 minutes. this is the way it looked wendell wear announced its vote a short time ago. >> delaware you have 32 votes how do you cast your votes? >> delaware casts 9 votes for bernie sanders. and cast 23 votes for the next president of the united states,

hillary clinton! >> "action news" reporter sara bloomquist is live in the arena tonight, sara you spent time with the pennsylvania delegation during the early sections of the role call as you know clinton beat sanders in pennsylvania by 1 points in the primary. despite that is therive decision of the delegates during this role call. >> it started out tonight we saw some division as they got this role call underway. just before it we did hear from supporters of bernie sanders and hillary clinton from the start of the role call, they say at this point they are still supporting bernie but after the role call they will rally behind hillary clinton, that role call underway now. everyone expects hillary clinton will get the nomination. i did speak with pennsylvania delegates as this role call was just getting underway. >> i think that bernie had a tremendous positive impact on

the party and the platform they put together was the most progressive they ever put together it's all progress and beneficial. >> we want the same thing for the nation. $15 an hour, affordable college, we want the same things. >> every delegate will have their vote counted. this is part of the democratic process so we are hear to witness, history. and for those of us that pledged our support for bernie we are hear to see the process through to the end. >> for me i'm a bernie guy 100%, if he doesn't win tonight, i'm a hillary person 100%, it's more important to beat donald trump. >> that is what we hear on the convention floor, delegates came here to cast the votes for bernie sanders but once the role call is over, once hillary clinton is nominated they will be with her.

on the convention floor, i'm sara bloomquist, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. as the role call to nominate hillary clinton continues tonight. we'll keep a live picture of the convenience floor on the lower left of your screen and at 6abc.com. president, bill clinton, was in the hall as a spectator last night but he will be front and center on the stage tonight. clinton is expected to promote what aides say is his wife's lesser known achievements, her early days as a child advocacy lawyer and campaigns as first lady and her work as a senator of new york. vice president, joe biden, is a notable speaker to take the podium. the vice president did a walk through on the stage, to get used to the teleprompter, and biden addressed unity.

have in-depth continuing coverage from the wells fargo center beginning at 7:30 tonight and you can watch that on 6abc.com or on the 6 abc news app. there is other news tonight and it's not good. there is another terrorist attack in france and isis has already claimed responsibility. two extremists attacked a catholic church in normandy. and during the service slit the throat of an 84-year-old priest. the two assailants took hostages before being shot to death by police. and french president, hollande, said that to come to church and kill a priest is to profane the public. they have assured the pope that everything is being done to protect the churches of france. david muir will have more on the attack next at 6:30.

and a robber had the tables turned on him in philadelphia. the incident happened on the 2200 block of bryn mawr avenue. the police say the man tried to steal a vehicle and tried to holdup another man and he fired three shots. the suspect is in litcal condition and police believe that the shooting is justified. and attorney general, kathleen kane, is in court today. the attorneys for both sides argued what would be admissible when her trial begins in two weeks time. the judge dismissed without making a ruling. the smoking situation forced the evacuation of the montgomery mall. the mall lost power this morning and when a backup generator kicked in people smelled something burning and shoppers

evacuated as firefighters cleared the scene and the mall reopened at 12:30 this afternoon. 12 new officers are fow on the cherry hill police force, sworn in, taking it's oath to protect and serve. the officers when through a rigorous hiring progress that began in january with 1200 applicants taking a written test. coming up on "action news," it was the great debate on the streets today. cheesesteaks versus cheesecake, philadelphia versus new york. ahead who took the competition and bragging rights. day two of training camp and all eyes are on carson wentz. we'll have that story coming up. we hit a high of 92 making it day five of the heat wave but i'm tracking a stormy end to it. i'll explain when in the accuweather forecast. >> those stories be more from the democratic national

we return to the wells fargo center where the role call to nominate hillary clinton continues at this hour. new hampshire is up with its 32 delegates. hillary clinton will become the democratic nominee as soon as she clinched 2382 delegate votes tonight s when the role call is complete it's another night of star power, it's scheduled to take the convenience stage, here

me. >> just when a bunch of politicians are in town with the dnc. fortunately today was not as oppressive as yesterday. i was tracking the line of severe thunderstorms yesterday and now you see stormtracker 6 live double scan all clear, no storm clouds today but i'm getting a lot of photos like this posted on my facebook, larry posted six photos like this, what is this rainbow in the clouds. this is a horizontal arc. when the cirrus clouds 20,000 feet in the atmosphere contain ice crystals and act like prisms and refracture the light season create the rainbow effect. and we see a lot of these in the skies today. this is day five of our heat wave, so far tied for the longest heat wave. we had five days two weeks ago but it looks like we'll have to more before this ends. yesterday's high is 97 and we had the heat index of 109 and today not as bad.

91 in philadelphia currently, 81 with the sea breeze in cape may and allentown 89 and reading 92 and heat indexes most areas below 100, 93 in philadelphia and 95 in millville and the exception in dover, heat index 101. so a lot better today. satellite 6 along with action radar showing why that front that brought us the storms last night, that is now stalled to the south, we get the winds from the northwest, that is the drier flow of air, if you look to the southwest over west virginia though, you see showers and thunderstorms bubbling up and what is low pressure that ride as long the front and could bring a few thunderstorms south of philadelphia tomorrow and tonight though we'll be storm free, partly cloudy and muggy, 75 in philadelphia, and allentown 64 and cape may 75 and wilmington 72 degrees, future tracker 6 showing tomorrow morning, brighter skies to the

north and more clouds to the south and the possibility of showers bubbling up and could see more of this activity into the afternoon and i think we have a much better chance of showers and thunderstorms thursday night into friday. and that will put an end to the heat wave. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast tomorrow kind of a carbon copy of today. 92 degrees and dew points in the 60s. partly sunny and not quite as oppressive. on thursday it gets more muggy and a little bit warmer, 93 degrees, day seven of the heat wave, thursday night into friday, showers and thunderstorms, friday the heat wave is over, 88 degrees and it will be very humid and we stay unsettled on saturday and heading into next week the temperatures also in the upper 80s and jim when the dnc leaves town so does the heat wave. >> thank you cecily. elected officials put politics aside to help feed the hungry, they took time out from the dnc to volunteer at the
