still, bursts of frustration from sanders supporters, mostly at city hall. as night fell, many demonstrators gathered outside the wells fargo security perimeter leading to a serious confrontation with police and several arrests. lolita lopez is live with the breaking details. >> reporter: police commissioner richard ross saying how compliant they have been for the past couple days. two significant incidents, i'll show you video. this was shot by a man by the name of rob webber in austin. he was kind enough to let us use the video. there were 12 mass protesters that breached the security fence around wells fargo center. police converged, restored the fencing and made several arrests. they gave us an update on the situation. >> 10:30 tonight, six to a dozen

folks who, despite warning breached the fence. we told them it was a federal offense. they decided to do it anyway. i don't understand why they did that. we handled it with the folks out here. reporter: again, - -- onc again, the suspects facing federal charges in the case. in a separate ips dent, a woman was burned in a flag burning. at this point, we don't know if she was part of the flag burning or trying to put it out. we have been told the injuries are serious. both incidents occurring over the last hour alone.

charles ram say was at the helm during the last major security event in the city, the visit of pope francis. he has worn several hats over his five decade career. tonight, it was in the role of clinton supporter, advocate for gun and police reform. "action news" reporter held a one-on-one after the speech. these are causes close to ram y ramsey's heart. >> reporter: that's right, jim. this retired police commissioner was one of several speakers on gun violence and aiming for gun control. he focused on violence against police officers and the need to address that, too. >> i have too many officers killed by guns. >> please welcome charles ramsey. >> reporter: he took the stage at the democratic national convention to address the deep

divide between police and the communities they serve and the kill ls of the officers in dallas and baton rouge. >> people that are there protesting against the rights of police. you gun them down. there's no excuse for that at all. >> that makes you angry. >> sure, it makes me angry. >> reporter: families of victims of police shootings were invited to speak, but not families of police officers killed. hillary clinton is a leader that will protect police officers from being outgunned. >> she will work the streets and get trust between the police and the communities they serve. that's why she has my vote. >> reporter: we asked ramsey how to address the divide between the police and the communities they serve. >> be honest about what is going
