senphiladelphia firefighter is being laid to rest right now. and donald trump is back on the campaign trail after claiming the general election could be rigged . a former catholic church official once convicted of covering up sex abuse is getting out of jail. monsignor william lynn is expected to get out of bail after pennsylvania's highest court granted him a new trial. he is the first roman catholic official convicted of shielding abusers in church. lynn was up for parole in october and today philadelphia district attorney, seth williams, vowed to retry lynn's case yet again. we know the name of a young woman killed while trying to crass a street in new jersey. the young woman was killed by a vehicle that took off and left her to die on the side of the

road. janet reyes is following the search for the driver. >> reporter: we are told that the aftermath of this hit and run is pretty horrific, the 17-year-old girl was hit in the crosswalk and police are desperately searching for clues that may lead to a suspect. galloway township police are investigating the hit and run but say it happened before midnight yesterday at route 30th and 6th avenue. aubry service of little egg harbor was walking near the westbound lanes when she was hit. the driver took off and leaving service to die from her injuries. not much is known about the driver or the vehicle but believe could be an older model suv silver, traveling west on the left lane and ran a red light. it should have front driver's side damage, there are nummous businesses with surveillance

cameras but none facing in this direction. melissa was staying at a hotel nearby and witnessed the horrific aftermath. >> i thought why is nobody getting her help? when you are hurt you want help. and two girls ran up to her and ran back screaming and then i went up. >> and "action news" has reached out to service's family and they understandably declined to speak to the media, but we know that the lead investigators is getting on this case as we speak and right now we expect to get more information in the coming hours. we'll have more of that coming up later on this afternoon. reporting live in galloway township, janet reyes, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. >> it was a solemn procession across lehigh avenue. colleagues saluted as the body gabriel lead made his way to the church. last sunday lee was found

unresponsive by fellow firefighters hours after he responded to a fire, he was working with ladder company 12 in north philadelphia. time for a check of the accuweather forecast. showers are possible in a few spots today but the skies are mostly dry right now as we look live at the ben franklin bridge, david murphy is tracking the latest conditions from the "action news" big board. >> reporter: all right on the big board now, the wide view on stormtracker 6 live double scan doesn't show you a lot of precipitation, a little evidence of that in extreme south jersey, we are keeping our eyes to the north where the additional activity may start to build back down later, if you see rain across the region, are you in the small minority. this is pushing down from southern cumberland county and we see cells in the last 15 minutes at reed's beach in sea isle city. an indication of thick thing that may come later on.

the farther south you go toward wildwood you have bright sunshine and more of that in delaware as well. the clouds are kind of stubborn and thick in philadelphia. we are expecting sunny breaks into the afternoon and then there is that spotty shower chance. 77 in philadelphia right now, 77 in allentown unand 77 in trenton and 79 in wilmington and 80 in cape may where the sun has started to break out more, and warm in dover. there is a difference in terms of humidity across the region. yesterday we were all in the 70s. today most of us in the 60s. still humid but not as oppressive. the exception is as with you work your way down through delaware. in dover a dew point of 78. and before it was 80. tropical humidity still in place in dover. you'll need the extra slug of cool drinks and cape may also on the humid side. cloudy skies giving way to sunny breaks and a spotty shower and

high of 82 well below average of 87 and well off the record high of 99. and 68 the overnight low tonight. could be patchy fog tomorrow morning and tomorrow looks great and other changes ahead in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. and we have news breaking from the tropics, tropical storm earl, i'll tell you where that developed in just a bit. crews are having a difficult time getting rid of the mosquitos that carry the zika virus in miami. the director of the cdc says the bugs may be resistant to the pesticide they are using. three people look to have contracting the virus in the wynnewood arts district. and pregnant women are warned to stay away from that neighborhood. presidential nominee donald trump is talking to a crowd in virginia and again making waves by suggesting that the general election may be rigged.

remodeling store on north main street last night. 150 firefighters worked to get the upper hand on the fire. they believed nobody was inside. police are working to identify the people involved in a fight at a wawa store in torresdale. it started between a group of family members and a store employee. wawa officials are cooperating with the investigation. still to come on "action news" at noon, a tour bus slams into a highway sign killing several passengers in california. plus, the vice president takes on a new role as a wedding oh fishient. and

comcast is facing a lawsuit. washington state attorney general bob ferguson is suing the cable giant for $100 million, he says they dereceived

customers for charging them for repairs for coming to their house, but fails to tell them that the plan doesn't cover repairs for wiring inside of a wall. comcast says they stand by their products and will vigorously defend itself. and now a new bill being sent to the governor's desk in new jersey, it allows people that suffer from pstd to use pot if conventional remedies don't work. it is already approved to treat other diseases in the garden state. health check this noon. a new report may have you changing your dental care routine, we have long been told that daily flossing, can prevent dental care and tooth decay.

youngsters are fanatic about reading and this morning the philly phanatic read to them. these youngsters took part in the free library summer of reading program at the olney library. they were encouraged to read for 15 minutes a day. >> it's fun to see the phanatic. >> i love the faces on the young

kids like what is this guy? >> some of those young players will come up and the phillies will be great. >> absolutely. still gray out there. >> reporter: still cloudy here especially down the shore and to the south, and we are seeing sunshine come back. stormtracker 6 live double scan shows you that there is a pop-up shower and right now the main one we have is down south, in parts of cumberland county and just had a tweeted picture from wildwood from a follower that shows plenty of sunshine there and obviously a patch of clouds and showers coming down to the east of fortescue basically and if we start this up, you can see that these are tending to drop down to the north and some of this could slowly migrate down to reed's beach and wildwood and cape may in a little bit. if we go out wider there is an another little cell that popped up to the north and we expect more to drop down from the

north, if you are in the southern reaches of lehigh valley county and the northern corner of bucks there, another guy heading down to bally and another could be popping up. they look much far and more dispersed showers than what we thought yesterday. as we look outside we have the action cam along the schuylkill river, along 30th street station and the cloud cover is still pretty thick there. taking a look at numbers. warm 77 in philadelphia and the dew point is not as bad as yesterday. below 70 so not oppressive but noticeably sticky and winds are light at 7 miles per hour. 77 in allentown and trenton and philadelphia. and on the muggy side. as we get later into the afternoon there is a chance of widespread activity. mainly quick hitting showers, some could be steadier but most

are moderate. in the evening hours most of that fillers off to the west. allentown high of 82 and mainly dry and muggy. and as we look at the shore there say spot we are mainly dry and looking for a pop-up shower at times. if you hear thunder get in off the beach. clouds mixing with sun and more sun along the coast the farther south you go. 82 is the high in philadelphia, well below average, and mainly dry with the chance of a spotty shower for part of your afternoon. for the phillies hopefully the showers are done for the ball game and partly cloudy overall and a bit on the humid side but not a bad night for baseball, ninth inning it's 73 and check out adam and cecily tonight beginning at 4:00. 68 degrees overmight tonight with patchy morning fog and tomorrow looks like a pretty

nice day, tropical storm earl within of the last hour or so. has been declared to the south and west of jamaica, this had been on the radar of the national hurricane center for the last day and a half. it's officially a tropical storm with 35 miles per hour not a super strong storm and as it progresses towards the yucatan peninsula and belize we are looking at this falling back from tropical storm strength to an area of low pressure, may reform over the southern gulf and then it looks like it turns into a low over mexico on saturday. this could be an issue if you are headed to belize. 82 degrees is today's high and clouds and sun and a spotty shower cannot be ruled out. and 84 and lower humidity and 86, seasonably warm on thursday, friday warm and humid, high up to 89 and the chance of a nighttime thunderstorm.
