>> this shows two elevator cars in a common shaft. the car moved upward with such force it breached the ceiling with such force it broke the ceiling and the debris came down on the right hand elevator car in which the employee was riding and causing the car to come down and crush. >> it caused it to hit the second elevator. >> the court employee in that elevator car was taken in for observation and left the hospital in the last hour or so. departed giving a thumbs up. the sergeant is still listed in critical condition with head and chest injuries, the labor and industry bureau is investigating this bizarre mishap as to when the elevators were last expected. the state told us last november and now they say it was just

that they say are connected to an international drug trafficking ring, kathleen kane says three people were arrested accused of smuggling cocaine from the dominican republic to pennsylvania. they seized $20 million worth of cocaine as as a result of this bust. an official will face charges that he covered up child sex abuse of priests. it's monsignor william lynn, the first ever convicted of the way he handled complaints. it quaz overturned for the second time and the defense was hoping that the prosecutors would just drop the case. his attorney insists that lynn was just a pawn following orders from higher members of church. >> lynn would handle the

he saw was one of the hostages being released. trump did not give an explanation for the discrepancy and blames hillary clinton for the negotiations that led to the payment. the white house says it was part of a larger payment owed to iran even before the revolution. we are looking at how the presidential race is stepping up in pennsylvania that is turning out to be a crucial state in the election. a poll out today shows clinton with a big league. 49% to 38% in pennsylvania. that among likely voters, it also shows that hillary clinton got a better bounce from her convention than trump did from his among pennsylvania voters, of course that convention was in pennsylvania. 62% of people are more likely to vote for clinton after watching it and 40% of people that watched the rnc are more likely to vote for him because of that. a bit of a challenge, neither

one american is dead and another hurt after a stabbing spree in the heart of london. this afternoon police say this was not an act of terrorism. it happened early there morning in russell square, an area popular with students and tourists and just two blocks from the famous british museum. a norwegian stabbed six people killing a teenage girl five others including another american are expected to survive. they were able to stop the suspect with a taser. >> the investigation is not yet complete, all the work we have done so far points to this

tragic incidents as having been triggered by mental health issues. >> the new credit cards with security chips on them are suppose to protect your information but there turns out there could be a serious flaw. the magnetic strip is suppose to tell them to use the chip. but thieves can rewrite the code and make it look like it's a chipless card. it lets them keep on counterfeit your information. retailers are complaining about the card and they were forced to use them and in fact the upgrade to the chip system could cost $25 billion. whether it's hot dogs and said ar or peanuts and crackerjacks could mean derailing your diet. but citizens bank park has healthy options too. you just have to look for them.

bright sunshine with a high of 83 degrees and in philadelphia slightly more humid today and for august standards nice with a high of 86 and in the poconos beautiful in the mountains, mostly sunny with a comfortable temperature of 77. hurricane earl is now tropical storm earl and it moved ashore near belize city as a category one hurricane and continues to weaken to the west. maximum sustained wins at 40 miles per hour. and moving west at 12 miles per hour. and continuing the track into mexico bringing the potential for flooding rains and mudslides and the possibility that it keeps moving to the west and could regenerate when it heads back into the pacific and it would get a new name as a pacific tropical storm. earl may be the storm that just doesn't quit. the four day at 4:00 back at home a pretty comfortable day, sun with a few clouds, dew points in the low to mid-60s.

female prostitutes, it goes without saying that if you have information you should contact police. gray hall, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. a man is in critical condition after being shot multiple times in philadelphia overnight. gunshots rang out here in the 2800 block of north american street near a charter school by the way. police heard gun fire and ran to the scene at 2:00 this morning that is when they found the 54-year-old victim who was walking home. no word on who shot him or why. from our delaware newsroom, an suv flipped over and landed on its roof after being sideswiped about another vehicle. it happened at 9th and spruce and wilmington. two people were in the suv at the time and one needed to be rescued by firefighters, a 59-year-old woman was taken to the hospital but her injuries do not appear to be severe. a woman stands accused of

ripping off a local parent teacher organization to the tune of $11,000, police say that kelly sullivan mcgovern was given a debit card to use for the pto but she used it for everything from jewelry to clothing to liquor to gas. the drinking water in philadelphia schools will be retested to make sure it's free of led. samples will be taken from 40 different schools to make sure they are in line with health standards, the district last did test in 2010 when all drinking water outlets were deemed safe but the water situation in flint, michigan, prompted the district to test again. >> a lot of community members in philadelphia wanted to have the drinking water in our schools retested and it's understandable. >> the district is paying $250,000 to complete the new testing, the results will be
