pemberton township burlington county where a car slammed into a tree near pasadena road. officials tell "action news" there are multiple injuries. at this point it's not clear how bad those injuries are. updates as we get them throughout this newscast and online at 6abc.com. in berks county officials are still trying to figure out what led up to a murder-suicide that left an entire family dead. mark and megan short and their three children were all found shot and killed in their sinking springhouse over the weekend. now police are calling it a case of domestic violence. "action news" reporter bob brooks has the latest on the investigation coming up tonight at 6:00. >> police in kansas are investigating a deadly ride on the world's tallest water slide. something went terribly wrong when a little 10-year-old boy took the plunge and tonight that park is closed. more safety concerns are surfacing now. elizabeth hur has been following the story from new york for us. she's live with details tonight. elizabeth.

>> reporter: monica, good evening to you. just within the hour park officials released a statement. not a lot of new information in it but they he did confirm, yes, police are now investigating and their thoughts are with the boy's family. a popular water park in kansas city evacuated and shut down after a 10-year-old boy died while riding the world's tallest water slide. the boy's father kansas state representative scott schwab telling abc news in a statement since the day caleb was born he brought abundant joy to our family. we are comforted he believe in our saviour jesus. they are together now. we will see him another day. >> wait sounded like the harness in the front of the car was not working all day long. >> reporter: for now park officials are not answering any questions about could have gone wrong but explained all rides at the park are inspected daily. >> and our rides are expected by an outside party at the

>> elizabeth, thank you. overseas turkey has detained 10 foreigners with suspected ties to a muslim cleric currently living in the poconos. that cleric fat tulle la gülen is accused of masterminding an attempted coup last month. more than 200 people died in the event. gülen has denied any involvement or prior knowledge of the coup attack. >> police wants your help tracking down thieves who targeted a home in south philadelphia. it happened back in june in the middle of the day. surveillance video shows one suspect here passing in front of the house in the 500 block of greenwich street multiple times. police say that suspect then forced open the front door and with the help of an accomplice took two watches a laptop and some clothing. anyone with information is asked to call philadelphia police. >> it was back to business today for hundreds of city workers at philadelphia's criminal justice center. today was the first day of full operation since last

week's elevator accident that sent two people to the hospital. "action news" reporter annie mccormick has the story tonight from center city. >> still in an induced coma and the family is praying for the best and all of our thoughts are with him. >> reporter: sergeant jewel williams is talking about sergeant paul he owens sheriff's deputy injured on thursday. the failure at the top of one elevator sent the elevator flying upwards into a maintenance room with owens inside. >> now the big issue is, is he prepared to the surgery for his back and there are some complications right now but he is paralyzed from his waist down. >> reporter: the debris from that crash hit a second elevator with a court employee inside who suffered minor injuries. today the cjc reopened following testing. both elevators involved in thursday's accident are out of service indefinitely. now it's up to the sheriff's department to shuttle the 6,000 people a day that come

through here and employees are encouraged to use escalators and there are some staff elevators in the rear they will use for employees judges and jurors. tuesday and thursday the sheriff's department sees larger crowds and they will get a better idea of how they can operate with some elevators out of service. >> we bring in about 600 inmates who are in custody. that means there's like thousands of people with trial. so, we are looking at how we could navigate through the times and the different floors that people are going to have to attend different court hearings. >> reporter: and officials say so far even without the use of those two elevators things seem to be running smoothly here inside of the cjc. if you were scheduled to appear last thursday or friday, you will receive a flows in the mail about when your hearing or matter will be rescheduled. reporting outside of the cjc, annie mccormick channel6 "action news." >> thank you annie. many stores in pennsylvania that sell beer to go will soon start selling

>> firefighters in california are trying to keep this raging wildfire from growing any larger. right now that fire has burned about 4500 acres of land about 70 miles northeast of los angeles. fire officials say a recent drought has made conditions ripe for the fryer to grow. the flames are only 5 percent contained. evacuations are in place. so far no one has been hurt. >> delta canceled nearly 500 flights today in the wake of a global outage of its computer systems. more than 12 hours after the online computers went down delta is struggling to get back on track. >> the action cam was at philadelphia international airport as passengers grappled with delays and cancellations. some were stuck in line for hours either waiting for help or for a new flight. delta flights out of philadelphia are now for the most part operating normally. it all started early this morning after a power outage in atlanta where delta is

headquartered. the outage hit atlanta's hartsfield-jackson international airport which of course is one of the nation's busiest airport also. it was hit especially hard. check in and customer service lines started snaking out of the terminal and onto the sidewalk. passengers were spotted napping on the floor, waiting for a new way to get home. but some airline employees took the outage in stride. one delta flight from hawaii to los angeles was kept on the ground for more than two hours because of the outage. while the plane was sitting on the tarmac the crew ordered pizza to keep passengers happy during the wait. >> family of a muslim boy arrested after bringing a homemade clock to school filed a federal lawsuit today against texas school officials and others. irving police dropped the charge against ahmed mohamed after the incident but he was still suspended for three days. he says he brought the clock in to show his english teacher. the mohammed family questioned whether their son was mistreated due to his religion but the district denied that

temperatures already up into the low 80's in philadelphia and as we head through the afternoon, it is going to be a warm day, about 88 degrees. good amount of sunshine. humidity not bad. mid 60's generally the dewpoint so slightly humid but then look at what happens. wednesday 71 the dewpoint, thursday and friday, it gets tropical with dewpoints in the 70's. mid 70's. and the temperatures up into the 90's. so, here we go, another heat wave is on the way. tomorrow 89 degrees. good amount of sunshine. wednesday 90 degrees with some scattered thunderstorms and looks like we have a chance of some thunderstorms every single day. it's going to be very unsettled, 91 degrees on thursday. friday hot and steamy 94 and saturday will be the peak of the heat. 95 degrees but you factor in the dewpoints in the mid 70's, the heat index will be climbing above 105 degrees. i'll let you know when we do have some relief from the heat and humidity coming up in the full accuweather 7-day forecast. take it easy this week, guys. >> yes, we will.

he's in that fact losing support. a national poll here shows that she leads donald trump by nine percentage points among registered voters in there u.s., last month it was just three percentage point spread between the two. voters though are starting to warm up to hillary clinton ever so slightly. her favorability is at 39 percent, unfavorable 49 percent. donald trump not fairing even as well as that. his favorability is at just 26 percent, 67 percent of voters don't like him. and a question that's come up a lot lately do the candidates have the right temperament to serve as president. there you see the results when talking about hillary clinton 61 percent say yes, 34 no. when talking about trump, 27 percent say yes, 67 percent say no. it is clear from these numbers that the presidential nominees are still having some trouble winning over the hearts of voters. however, 55 percent of those polled still say they are optimistic about electing a new president.

and has still not been found. >> family members continue to be questioned after a man was shot to death in a home in south philadelphia overnight. a 26-year-old man told police he was fumbling with a gun when he he claimed he accidentally shot his brother in the head. it happened in this home in the 2800 block of south seventh street. the father of two was also inside the home at the time. so far no charges have been filed. >> from our delaware news room now a plan was overcome with emotion when he saw his wilmington manor home heavily damaged by fire. good news, though, his family is safe and unhurt this afternoon. it happened in the 400 block of stahl avenue. firefighters are still trying to determine how the fire started. it caused more than $70,000 in damage. five adults and four children are being helped by the red cross tonight. >> jury selection began today in the murder case against an army specialist charged with killing his girlfriend's mother in lehigh county. 21-year-old caleb barns is accused of stabbing

54-year-old cheryl sylvinak. her daughter pled guilty to helping plan the killing and was sentenced to 35 years to life to prison. prosecutors say the girl was angry at her mother after being ordered to break up with barns. >> a ukrainian man maryland guilty to charges he suppose posed as a high school student in harrisburg. artur row samarin admitted to having sex with an under aged girl. prosecutors say his punishment is up to a judge and those charges could bring 40 years in prison. samarin also faces federal charges and could be deported. >> time right now for a check of the traffic scene on a monday night. >> for that we go to matt pelman in the "action news" traffic center. >> high guys a little bit of a case on the mondays on this monday on some of these roads. it's a slow go here on the schuylkill, i-76 in both directions here in king of prussia especially westbound from the blue route out to 202. just up ahead by the exit for the mall there is an accident
