>> reporter: facility wasn't hot enough already -- if it wasn't hot enough already how about adding fire. firefighters battled an abandoned steeple in mount mount airy. philadelphia health department reported the first two heat-related deaths in this heat wave, one in brewerytown and another in port richmond. those who ventured out tried to take precaution. this group of army vets meet every year in fairmont park and got under a tree to shade them during their cookout. kids down the street did ice ice cream. for people looking to get exercise and run, they did it at valley green on the trail.

ready to answer any heat related questioned. dangerous heat outside, this morning was a hot battle for philadelphia firefighters, they worked to put out a house fire in frankford on heyworth street before 35:30 a.m. flames were shooting from the second floor. took 20 minutes to bring the fire under control. no injuries were reported. investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire. this morning a fan faces a number of charges after a two car accidents along broad street or two car accidents the first happened at south broad and catherine, police say he left that driving north on broad until he lost control and crashed into the front porch of an apartment building near norris street. that building is occupied largely by temple university students. nobody was hurt, but the buildings was damage. the driver is in temple university hospital recovering. developing news this

morning, protesters took to the streets of milwaukee overnight after a police officer shot and killed the man. the man allegedly pointed a gun at the officer while running from a traffic stop. >> pro testers clashed with police and they set fires to businesses and cars. >> reporter: crews are on the scene of one fire well into the morning. as you can see just before 3:00 a.m., fire crews still putting out hot spots at this o'reilly auto parts in milwaukee. this is several fires in the neighborhood that crews tended to late saturday night into sunday morning. there was another one at a beauty supply store nearby and the bank down the street. the fires started after police were investigating a shooting where one of their officers shot a man they say was armed. the circumstances of that shooting they are still under

investigation, but that set off unrest throughout the neighborhood in the northern section of milwaukee. people damaging property, we saw the fires that crews were investigating. now, police officers responded to this neighborhood, they had riot gear on, their helmets and shields. we did not see any confrontations with police, but people were taken into custody. it is unclear why they were brought in, everything around the situation under investigation. in milwaukee, abc news. >> historic flooding has crippled parts of southern louisiana. the flash floods are being blamed for killing three people and prompted hundreds of rescues. >> i'm drowning. >> we're coming, we're coming, i'm going break the window. we're breaking the window. >> this is video of a dramatic rescue of a woman and her dog after the woman's car got

trapped in high water in baton rouge yesterday. rescuers had to cut the convertible top and jumped into the water and freed her and her pedestrian. the governor of louisiana said he has never seen flooding like this. >> we have record level flooding along rivers and creeks, because these record floods we don't know how wide the watered will -- the water will get in those areas. this is unprecedented. the governor got a look from a helicopter. the louisiana national guard said it rescued 500 people and 61 pets in seven parishes. turkey authorities are submitting a request for the temporary arrest of a poconos based islamic cleric for a failed military coup that

impressive to see that kind of humidity here in this part of the country. usually it's down to the south across the gulf coast states. here's the relief. this is the cold front we're tracking for several days it's stuck. it's not moving. if it it is, it is creeping alog at a snail's pace. the heat pump high is sitting there and keeping the front at bay. everything will get on its giddy up and push out to sea, but that will take several days to happen. later this afternoon, 95 or 96 for the high. with a heat index of 105 to 107. tomorrow morning in the mid to upper 70s. tomorrow afternoon, 94, 95678 we get into tuesday morning, temperatures in the mid to upper 70s and tuesday afternoon highs in the low 90s again. for the next several days it will get a little bit better, but still very hot and humid. 97 in philadelphia. hazy, hot and humid, spotty thunderstorm is possible. especially north and west of

deliver it to people who need food. >> reporter: 20 volunteers from the u.s. department of agricutlure are picking from the ten acres of tomatoes. the produce will go to four distribution sites in south jersey and shared with soup kitchens and food pantries. >> it's going to be used by somebody would needs it. >> reporter: this way everybody gets produce that might not look great, but is delicious. >> reporter: the program was started by new jersey farmers who wanted to donate surplus crops. 73500 people benefit from what's gleaned at dozens of farms. they collect 1 million pounds of produce every year. >> it feels good to know that we are helping others and that food is going to use which is what all farmer also want their foods to do for people to enjoy

avenue. the cause of the fire is under investigation. a manhunt is underway in central georgia for a man who shot and killed a police officer overnight. authorities say officer tim smith was answering a call of suspicious person. officers smith was shot as he left his patrol car to investigate. the gunman fled the scene and remains on the loose. this morning members of a bang will a did -- bangladesh mm community are calling for the shooting of an imam and his assist animals as a hate -- assistant as a hate crime. investigators say they have a sketch of the man they they are looking for. a man is fighting for his life after he was shot near judy johnson park on west third street in wilmington.

police say when they arrived they found 21-year-old mantua gunshot injury to his chest. someone took that man in their personal car to saint francis hospital. he is listed in critical condition. police have no motive or suspects in the shooting. police investigating the discovery of a man's body flooding in the christiana river near newport yesterday. that man was found near a boat ramp on cooper drive. police are working to determine the man's identity and cause of death. >> this morning police are investigating a deadly shooting by an off duty corrections officer in mercer county. dominic kneel was issued a restraining order from contacting his former girlfriend. the officer saw neil approach the front door at 3:30 a.m. the officer said he told him to stop, but neil kept approaching the home that's when the officer fired shots through the glass
