we have the latest historic flooding in louisiana. more than 20,000 people have now been rescued. the big story on "action news" is the dangerous heat here. it is day 6 of the on going heat wave. parts of our area are still under an excessive heat warning. but it's not keeping everybody inside. the action cam caught several people trying to stay hydrated out and about in center city. karen rogers in for david murphy with the latest from accuweather. karen. >> reporter: sarah, the national weather service continues the heat warning through tuesday evening. this is day 6, but we are not done with it yet. we have two more days. 88 degrees in martins creek. 8 # -- 83 in pottstown. 89 in saint saint davids. 87 in center city. 86 in levittown. 84 in browns mills. 85 in cinnaminson.

answer your heat-related questions until midnight tonight. it will be open tomorrow, as well. in just about an hour, the berks county district attorney is expected to release information about the death of a family of five. police found mark and meghan short and the couple's three young children shot in a murder suicide. they found a suicide note and handgun near one of the adults, have not said which one. police on the scene of a shooting in the rawnhurst section. around 9:00 a.m. investigators responded to the reports of a shooting on the 2300 block of riply street. a 43-year-old man was shot in the leg and taken to the hospital in stable condition. the victim knows the person who shot him. police have not made an arrest. closing arguments are underway in the trial of pennsylvania attorney general kathleen kane accused of leaking

grand jury evidence to the media and lying before it under oath. kane's lawyer rested their case without calling any witnesses. her lawyer said she can not be convicted based on the evidence presented by the prosecution. john rawlins is in the courtroom right now we'll have a live report at 12:30. today marks a final farewell to the man to generations as captain noah. a funeral was held for w.carter merbreier in ardmore. family friends and fans gathered to remember the man who educated and entertained children for decades. captain noah and and his magic k aired in the 1960s to 1994. he was 90 years old. you can look back at captain noah life on the 6abc app you

improving, but the rivers are rising. water leaves are not expected to recede for two more days, kenneth moten channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. one person was killed and two other men injured in a rollover crash in the west oak lane section of philadelphia. it happened around 4:30 a.m. police say a passenger van and car collided on 66th avenue at 18th street. the van rolled on to its side a woman inside was killed. police say the driver of the car ran a red light he has been arrested by police. philadelphia police need your help finding these two men wanted for the armed break-ins at a dozen asian-owned businesses around the city. campbell and bowen are accused of threatening people who live inside the homes attached to the businesses at gunpoint in some cases tieing them up.

milwaukee's north side following the shooting of a black man on saturday. the county sheriff office said four deputies were hurt. this stems from a deadly confrontation who mr. smith whos killed during a traffic stop. smith was armed and refused to drop his weapon. the incident started widespread destruction throughout the neighborhood. >> it's not going a make a difference, it's going to make things worse, really, balls -- because, we're doing too much we burning stuff down. police have not said they will release the body camera footage. thousands of people fled a wildfire near two towns in northern california. the fire jumped a highway in lower lake and burned five square miles destroying ten homes, the fire is 5% contained.

a mother saved her 4-year-old from a mountain lion after the child was attacked on a family camping trimp over -- trip over the weekend in idaho. her mother put her down for a nap when she wandered away from the tent. kelsey's mother ran toward the animal and it dropped the girl and ran away. >> i look over and seeing if i can see anything wrong, i see the marks on her ribs, and i know she is okay. >> idaho fish and game officials say such big cat attacks are rare, when they happen small children are the targets. as for kelsey she is expected to make a full recovery. security measures are being increased near the olympic village in rio after brian lochte was robbed at gunpoint.

we're watching for a chance of a an isolated shower or thunderstorm. most of us stay dry. sky6 live hd has been taking beautiful shots looking live in center city. you can see just a few cumulus clouds out there peppered through the area. sunshine and enough blue allowing the skies to heat up today. the temperature 87 degrees, we're above the average high which is 86. the dewpoint is 70. over the weekend it is 76. anytime you get 70 it is oppressive. it was more oppressive over the weekend. the pressure is holding steady and wind switching to the south. the ocean temperatures cooled considerably, 65. satellite and radar showing clear skies bright sunshine. you can see the clouds to the north and west. we have two areas of low pressure riding along a front that will cross through the area on wednesday that will break the heat wave until then, we're in a heat wave. we're dealing with it today.

let's look at the numbers, we'll have a high today of 94 degrees in philadelphia. even in the lehigh valley, hitting the low 90s today. 89 for the high in lancaster. 92 in wilmington and dover. 93 for the high in millville. along the coastline it will be better if you're heading to the shore you'll be in the upper 80s sitting on the beach not as bad, 91 degrees for the high temperature in dover, delaware. at 2:00 p.m., 92 degrees, we hit a high of 94, 3:00 p.m. singt -- sitting at 4:00 p.m. today. it will feel like 97 and 100 degrees. it will feel hot when you factor in the human. 6:00 p.m., 96 degrees, maybe one or two places see an isolated shower south of the city. 6:00 p.m., 89 degrees. 10:00 p.m., lower 80s and warm and muggy overnight. future tracker 6 we have an updated model run showing at 4:30 a.m. we have showers or
