there is another staff shakeup in donald trump's campaign we'll tell you who is coming on board. but the big story on "action news" is another day of 90 degree heat in the area. but there is a little relief from the humidity. sky 6 hd looking live at the center city skyline, a bright beautiful day and just a little bit better out there. david murphy is outdoors with the changes. >> hot enough for cool drinks if you are going to be out toiling. but it feels less sticky on the terrace than even just a few hours ago. we have a fair amount of sunshine across the region at the noon hour and there is more popping through later on. right now just fair weather cumulous clouds with a fair amount of blue. up to 86 degrees in philadelphia. and allentown low 80s. 88 in millville and 85 in cape may. lets check out the dew points, we talked about this in the morning's broadcast. everyone started with numbers of 70 or better but since then

drier air has come in from the west and northwest and we see the dew points dropping to below oppressive levels in philadelphia, wilmington trenton and in fact some of these numbers are in the process of dropping, the farther south you go into south jersey, the stickier it still is. in cape may it's oppressive. that is the case at the air show in atlantic city. 88 is the heat index. that is what it feels like right now. things are getting better in philadelphia, only a 2 degree spread. down in dover it feels like 102 and 97 in cape may. today's high in philadelphia is 92 but a much more comfortable low 90s that what we had recently. and if you still have plans to head to atlantic city, maybe getting down to the air show late. it's 89 down there and feeling like about 100. sara we'll see an upswing in humidity before we get a real

break but that real break is showing up at the tail end of the seven-day forecast. >> thank you. some early morning storms did help to usher in the humidity. the action cam caught some of the bright flashes of lightning here at the belmont plateau at fairmount park. along with the lightning came high winds and pelting rain and peco reported power out abagout. chopper 6 hd was bethlehem pike just after day break. the power company was on hand working to restore power, there were detours around the site for a while but bethlehem pike is back open again. >> it was a stifling night of heat and humidity for firefighters answering calls during the night. right, stifling is a gateway to describe the heat and humidity that all of us feel. but for firefighters they wear all that gear, you take it all together and it could be a challenge to do the job. >> this fire was discovered at 1:30 a.m. but after seven days of a heat wave it was not the cool of the evening that greeted firefighters that had to call a second alarm. the heat and humidity an cumulative factor for the firefighters at this fire says their boss. >> we had three all hands fires going across the city at the same time. this is going for more than a week, it takes its toll and it's hard to stay hydrated out here doing this every night. >> norristown firefighters were battling a house fire and the weather conditions were a factor. other crews whether brought in so firefighters could be rotated

more often. >> we called them in to help relieve some of our firefighters that were taxed by the weather. we have emergency squads, with hydration and drinking plenty of water and checking vitals and making sure they are okay. >> back live now on the 1300 block of south broad street. it's visible conditions for those that have to fight fires but for professionals there is a drill, you hydrate and rotate and keep a close eye on those that have to answer the call. >> john thank you. we are following breaking news now out of northeast philadelphia. police are investigating the robbery of a jewelry store there. the robbery happened at 10:30 this morning at the zales. the suspects took gold and diamond rings and got away in a silver or blue hatch back, possibly a kia or toyota.

firefighters in california are now grappling with a major wild fire, this one 60 miles east of the los angeles. this fire nearly doubled in size overnight. crews say that the flames burned nearly 47 square miles. more than 82,000 people are told to leave their homes because of this fire. investigators are back at a beach side amusement park in new london, connecticut, to find out how six kids were shocked there. they got the jolt on a ride called the scrambler. >> one had burns on the bottom

david is back now with another check of the accuweather forecast. the humidity is dipping a bit. >> but not forever. >> it kind of depends on where you are but it's sticky. around philadelphia it's nicer right now, stormtracker 6 live double scan shows us we remain dry and we take a look outside and see sunshine mixing with the clouds earlier, the action cam was out there with the water works, it looks like we have joggers going by and it's going to be a much better day to go about versus the last several days. it's warm and you will want your cool drinks. we are now down to 66, so just

moderately humid out there. winds out of the west at 10, that could drop over the next few hours. less and less humid. 86 again is philadelphia's current temperature and 87 in wilmington and cool and warm and comfortable in reading and 86 in cape may and the farther south you go the higher the dew points, it's sticky on the coast. and cloud cover is out to the west, not a lot of rain, the stuff out there won't make it to us, later into the late night and overnight hours. some showers will work their way through. sun is mixing with clouds today and less humid and 87 degrees and comfortable in places like bethlehem and reading and easton, and of course allentown. a high of 89 degrees, clouds and sun and humid and down along the coast. heat index values, if you are

still planning on joining people at the air show late, you will definitely want to bring the cool drinks and dress appropriately. it's hot and turning less and less humid, a high of 92 this afternoon. if you head to the ball game, hopefully it's not as hot. less humid and we are posting the possibility of a late shower and i'm doing that with a -- and future tracker 6 the last several runs, up until the end of the game at 10:00. holding the rain off to the west, coming in with the evening hours, most of the this will be overnight, and showers and a rumble of thunder pushing towards the east and it's over by 3:00 or 4:00, overnight mostly cloudy and a passing shower, 74 degrees and maintaining fairly low humidity. that has a chance of changing tomorrow, as we go through the

day we see clouds and sun mixing and a rise in humidity along with the approach of a frontal boundary to the south with a flow off the ocean. and i'll go for a high of 89 that would technically break the heat wave in philadelphia. but it's going to be close and it's possible we'll manage to tic up to 90 just a bit. and 92 is your hot high today. not as humid in philadelphia with points north and sticky down south. partly sunny tomorrow and 89, i think the humidity levels will come back up and mostly sunny and hot on friday with a high on 91, we may see the dew points drop a bit on friday as well. saturday and sunday look out the heat and humidity build back in. 90 degrees on saturday and sunday and the chance of a saturday thunderstorm. but a better chance on sunday. but the humidity will feel very noticeable. probably drops off during the day on monday sara, the front
