in the logan section of philadelphia. the shooting happened at 3:00 at 18th and one victim was shot in the back of the head and chest and died at einstein hospital. a second man was shot and no word on his condition. police have no suspects or motives at this time. on the weather front there was a bit of relief from the heat and humidity we are dealing with. sky 6 hd taking a live look at the beaches of cape may, a few folks lingering on the beach. why not. the mercury climb add above 90 again today making this the longest heat wave of the year, eight days of sizzling temperatures but there are signs that cooler conditions are around the corner. adam joseph is outside on the terrace with the latest from ac weather i have my fingers crossed. >> keep crossing them. another hot day out but we caught a break with the humidity but in philadelphia the heat

wave rolls on 91 the official high for today, making it eight days long the longest of 2016 and for the month so far temperatures run over 4 degrees above normal. 89 degrees right now in philadelphia, and lower 80s in allentown and 70s in the poconos, but 90 or better for millville and atlantic city airport and beach haven, the shore did not catch a break with no land breeze or sea breeze, it's only in the 80s in allentown and trenton. but tropical humidity lingers at the shore so right now the heat index in the mid to upper 90s there. as we look at stormtracker 6 live double scan notice things are turning active in west virginia and virginia and southern parts of central pennsylvania, this is some energy that is rolling through, overnight tonight. once that sunsets, we'll see the radar start to pop in many different colors, so a round of

burglars that swiped computers from an elementary school. the video shows the crime in progress -- >> reporter: that is right. camden county police putting out two voice videos of these break-ins, one at agent elementary school and one at a child development center, they are similar, the thieves made off with all kinds of items and they would like them caught before the school year begins, the young burglars used a rock to enter the school on wildwood avenue after the school was closed on may 9th. they prowled the halls and looked for items to take. >> they were looking for items, laptops and money was taken from there. >> police put the suspect between 18 and 20 years old and one has a distinctive walk, at times one or both has their face

covered. >> based on the videos, the two suspects knew what they were doing and what they were looking for. >> this video is a second similar break-in in july at the early development center near the school. the suspect is holding what appears to be a crowbar used to pry open the doors to gain injury. it shows one suspect, and there is a lot of similarities in this video. in all they made off with laptops and money and a desktop computer and items that camden school district may find difficult to replace. any school district that loses items of that nature are hard pressed to regain these things, absolutely. >> police are confident that someone knows who these young men are. they have the distinctive walk and you can see the face in the video as well. they may likely be from the neighbor there. if you can identify them contact the camden county police.

i'm sara bloomquist, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. a cab driver with a criminal past is under arrest again. accused of attacking a woman in his car, darryl mcfadden, worked for main line taxi. a woman said on august 9th mcfadden robbed and beat her and he has convictions for statutory sexual assault and prior convictions for rape and drugs. main line taxi had to comment. they say that companies must do criminal background checks every two years. a second suspect wanted for a string of robberies targeting the asian community has surrendered. anthony campbell is in police custody. police say that the pair threaten their victims and in some cases they tie their victims up. there may be up to three

suspects at large. former philadelphia police commissioner, john timoney has died. the 68-year-old was battling lung cancer xg he worked for the new york police department for searching in philadelphia. >> he put us on the map in large part due to accountability or reference and accountable. and he really was a significant figure in law enforcement nationally and highly recognized and touted for all of the things he has done. >> the philadelphia police department postd this tribute on twitter this morning. it read we mourn the passing of former ppd police officer, john timoney, who proudly led our department from 1998 to 2001. >> he served as chief of police recently in florida before doing

folcroft police officer dor pan will be honored after being shot in the line of duty. he is on the mend after taking seven bullets. his partner and sergeant are honored for taking action quickly. a few small change could save delaware school districts in costs. the industrial assessment center looked at 15 schools. recommends were turning off led lights and heating and cooling is a major energy waster. in all they found $800,000 in energy saving opportunities. things were looking up at the

adam is in for cecily. eighth straight day of 90 degree heat. >> we'll flirt with 90s the next few days but a break somewhere in the seven day. as we look at double scan live radar it's quiet at the present time. but storms are developing south and west of lancaster and energy is rolling through overnight tonight and some of us may be jolted out of bed in the wee hours of the morning due to thunder. as we look at the action cam out in south philadelphia, fdr park, a decent looking shot here, and a decent amount of greenery out here. despite a lack of rain in the area this summer season. presently right now 89 degrees in philadelphia, we hit a high

of 91 officially around the 3:00 hour. 83 in lehigh valley and 88 in wilmington and 90 in millville and with the land breeze at the shore there was no sea breeze to cool you off from long beach island to the delaware beaches, in fact that is where it stayed tropically humid with dew points above 70 from beach haven cape may to dover. and north and west of philadelphia the dew points dropped not mid-60s and the air felt more tolerable than it has over the last few days. as we look at satellite and radar there are severe storms in parts of virginia moving into west virginia and maryland and trekking to the east in the overnight hours. a shower or thunderstorm or two will occur and any of those downpours could be briefly heavy here. future tracker 6 showing at 10:00 moving into the state of delaware and as we get into the
