daughter. >> i'm in shock, still unbelievable. devastated. >> police say that the killer shot hoskins multiple times and stuffed her in a trash can. the police found the body after receiving a tip and her mother says that she recently broke up with her boyfriend. >> he was a troubled kid. he just got out of jail for pulling a gun on both of my daughters. >> investigators are searching for clues, they placed candles where the 21-year-old's body was found. >> our hearts in wilmington, delaware, are broken. >> she wants her daughter remembers as an honest and caring woman. >> as for her killer? >> why did you have to treat my daughter as if she was trash? why? >> reporter: and hos kin's mother says whoever is responsibility for killing her

lower and temperatures lower and sky 6 hd looking at the commodore barry bridge and after waking up with the clouds, lingering showers and the sunshine is back, a lot of people are asking me on my facebook and twitter account is this heat wave a record? not even close. this heat wave number five eight days. but the longest heat wave was way back in 1988, it went 18 days and the most number of heat waves back in 1991 when we had 10, we are only halfway there. we should not be getting ten heat waves there year. philadelphia south of 90 at 88 degrees and wilmington 89 and cape may and trenton 84 degrees. and the dew points dropped significantly inland, philadelphia the dew point 64 degrees and reading 65 and that is slightly muggy. and we have dew points in the reason right along the beach,

interior south jersey and delaware. you really feel the moisture in the air and feeling oppressive. satellite 6 along with action radar showing we did get some showers and thunderstorms, much needed rain, that moves through overnight than is pushed down to the southeast. you can't see it too well but there is a piece of energy rolling towards the poconos and a little bit of a vort max, that could cause problems in the poconos, but most of the region is rain free and partly cloudy and somewhat humid, 67 in the suburbs and 74 for center city. and waking up with a good amount of sunshine tomorrow. this model shows that we could have a little bit of scattered shower activity with a sea breeze front along the jersey coast. something we have to allow for. most of the region seeing a lot of sunshine, down the shore sunny and warm and a late day shower and 84. philadelphia though we are back in the heat and humidity. 91 degrees in the poconos and

his own hand after thieves rob his store. and the eagles are in pittsburgh ready to take on the steels for their second preseason game. the american red cross is calling the flooding in louisiana the worst natural disaster since hurricane sandy. and officials got a first look at the scope of the devastation. and kenneth moton is following the developments from washington, d.c. he joins us live with the very latest. >> reporter: rick and sharrie, right now 4,000 people remain in the shelters in louisiana. many flood victims have been able to get back into their homes and others are still dealing with rising waters. louisiana's floodwaters are heading south. >> we lost everything in katrina, came here and ten years later lost everything again. >> 30,000 people rescued. 40,000 homes impacted.

and 40,000 more at risk. it sparked more evacuations in baton rouge. the death toll stands at 13. >> i want to express we are not out of the woods. this is an on going event on the ground is homeland security and fema, more than 30,000 people have registered for federal help. >> the federal government is here and we'll be here as long as it takes to help this community recover. >> the disaster has scientists taking a closer look at weather systems wreaking havoc in the u.s. the dry conditions out west sparked wild fires and record breaking heat made july the hottest month ever. >> in extreme weather patterns it's one of the outcomes we expect to see from overall warming conditions and scientists are looking at that, it's hard to connect single

expected to plead guilty to murder at an easton motel, he shocked the court by changing his mind and took it a step further. jeffrey nobel jr. says he was forced to plead guilty to murderering andrea white. he will now be try ford first degree murder. this is daniel irv, a gymnastics instructor. he is charged with sexual assault. authorities say it started when the girl was years old and continued for three years. a pharmacist tried to stop a couple of thieves from getting away after they targeted his store over the weekend. this is surveillance video from inside of the lancaster pharmacy along the 4100 block of

lancaster avenue in west philadelphia sx. a man and woman walked in and went behind the counter and the man acted like he had the gun and ordered the 25-year-old clerk to the ground and the woman stuffed drugs into a bag and the pharmacist tried to stop them but the suspects got away. prosecutors in bucks curb have charged 25-year-old maryanne vega of giving race horses a drug at the groomer in bensalem to allegedly rig the outcome of races, it usually treats respiratory diseases in horses and multiple horses tested positive to illegal levels of the drug. it's time to check in down at the shore. melissa magee is live down at the shore in stone harbor. >> reporter: you got to stay out

meteorologist, adam joseph is here now and the word is the heat wave is over for now. >> for now. we missed it by two degrees in philadelphia. we'll take every degree south of 90 as we can. as we look at double scan live radar a couple of showers trying to pop up around lancaster county north and west of pottsville and the far

northwestern suburbs near the lehigh valley and burkes county, you see a shower trying to cook up here in the next hour and overall everyone stays fairly dry. 88 for the high in philadelphia today. the fifth heat wave of the year was the longest, eight days running and it's officially over and the numbers expected to hit 90 or above tomorrow and heat wave number six could begin as early as tomorrow so it's a short break here. 89 in wilmington and right now 86 in dover and 87 in millville and upper 80s to the north and west and at the shore temperatures in the mid-80s with the ocean temperature pleasant at 70 degrees. satellite and radar, we have a stalled boundary to the south and that is where you see the downpours and thunderstorms erupting this afternoon, it's far enough to the south after the wave developed last night and early this morning and pubbed off the coast and moved the front to the south a little. that one to the north will be the heat and humidity buster for

good here. as we go into next week. but for tonight, it's partly cloudy and warm and humid. in the suburbs and 74 in the city. to the south we go, that is where the extreme heat and humidity will remain. we should hate 90 to 91 in the city and rather muggy and the front to the north and west will stall an extra day or so and saturday the triple h, hazy, hot and humid. 90 for a high and eventuallily this low will release from the northern plains and head to the east and as it wipes through here it will bring strong to severe storms in the afternoon and a break in the humidity come monday. the place to beat is the heat down the shore we go to stone harbor with melissa magee, you were kayaking and you were boating and now are you playing a good game of corn hole? have you gotten one yet?
