before the fire, we are told no one was hurt. a five-year-old girl is recovering from the violence that left a 24-year-old man dead. right now police in burlington, new jersey are searching for the gunman. jeff chirico has more. >> and extensive search of the yorkshire neighborhood was completed to no avail. the suspect is on the loose. >> reporter: burlington police are looking for a gunman who fled after a shooting at a home on federal street. a 5-year-old girl and the man in his 20s were injured. the man was shot in the head and taken to cooper university hospital. by air and on the ground several police officers spent hours searching back yard and wooded areas. police are confident that the gunman is not hiding out in the north yorkshire neighborhood. >> investigation is preliminary. i don't want to give false hopes to anybody. we have made progress, i want to

about this? >> reporter: gray, we are expecting information from the burlington county prosecutor's office, sometimes -- sometime today. police are looking for the gunman who killed a burlington city man and injured a 5-year-old girl. it happened at 6:45 p.m. in the yorkshire neighborhood in the area of east federal street and york street. the victims were standing outside a residence when several gunshots were fired. the 24-year-old man who lived in the neighborhood was shot in the head. he was rushed to lords medical center in willingboro. the 5-year-old girl was taken to lords with non-life threatening injuries. she was treated and released last night. initial reports were that she was shot, police are looking into it to see if that was the case. >> doctors are looking into

whether she was was struck by residue that came from the gunfire, or she tripped and fell. the bottom line we had a five little girl who was hurt from an unnecessary incident and dangerous incident that occurred. >> reporter: it is unclear what led up to the shooting and if the victims are related. we are waiting for more information from the burlington county prosecutor's office. we expect to receive that in the next few hours. police plan to resume their search and talk to neighbors as they search for the shooter. trish hartman channel 6 "action news." >> thank you so much for the update. happening right now the search is on for the driver of an suv who ran away after a crash in wilmington, delaware this morning. the suv collided with a carat pennsylvania avenue and -- collided with a car at pennsylvania avenue and broom street. the driver was trapped in the wreckage for nearly half an hour. that person is in critical condition at christiana

hospital. police do not believe -- or don't know if the driver of the suffer was hurt. this is all that as is left of a montgomery county home after a fire scorched it overnight. firefighters were called to summit avenue at 2:30 a.m. a person passing by noticed the fire and called for help. the home was sold two weeks ago for $729,000. renovations were being done at the time. nobody wasserman schultz hurt. nobody was hurt. we don't know what caused the new jersey transit bus crash that killed two people. but we know one of dead was 49-year-old jesse garcia died on one of the buses heading to work when the accident happened. the driver of the bus was killed. investigator believe speed may have been a factor in the collision. it nearly tore one of the buses in half. >> 10:05. extreme will tore through parts of the county. in ohio and michigan tornados
