"action news." >> thank you marcy. turning now to politics and we go live to pipersville, buck county, about 15 minutes ago republican vice presidential nominee, mike pence kicked off a campaign rally there and is still speaking on the stage. it's one of several stops he is making today in pennsylvania. earlier today he visited king of prussia to tour a tech company that makes medical devices and jet engines and he spoke to an invitation only crowd saying that businesses like this would do better under a trump pence white house. he made an unscheduled stop in norristown. he stopped to gets a haircut at jones barbershop on east airy street. both pence and vice presidential nominee, tim kaine, found themselves so low on the campaign trail today.

we'll have more on the race for white house coming up at 5:30. the man accused of beating a little 2-year-old boy to death faced a judge for the first time today. police say that zachary tricoche murdered his girlfriend's son, because of a fight over groceries. prosecutors say that the little boy bled to death internally. "action news" spoke to his grandfather today. >> my grandson was 2 years old and innocent, now he doesn't get to live his life and he gets to live his life in prison. it should be death penalty. >> tricoche is held on $1 million bail. students head back to college in our region. and a focus on safety. bob casey met with top officials today in center city

philadelphia. last year casey's campus sexual assault bill went into law. it in part requires that incidents of domestic violence, dating violence or sexual assault and stalking be disclosed in annual campus crime statistic reports. casey spoke about the bill today. >> prevention and awareness meaning that the entire campus community had an obligation to be part of the solution and to work on preventative steps to make everyone aware that it's everyone's responsibility. >> representatives from temple, the university of penn and drexel were among the schools that took part in the discussion. from our new jersey newsroom, governor chris christie is proposing a solution to the state's most pressing issues, urban education and property taxes. the fairness formula in

how things are rolling. >> another afternoon and another accident on the 95 work zone, southbound this afternoon at cotman avenue, it looks like four vehicles involved pretty badly crunched together and two left lanes are blocked with the new accident and southbound traffic therefore is getting by in the far right lane and therefore is not moving very well from past woodhaven to this point at cotman, it's a slow go. lets flip the 95 camera over where traffic appears to just be started to move. after a ship went through the bridge was up and back down now and traffic is rolling again. if you are a 95 driver, overnight we go down to one lane on the northbound side between girard and allegheny for overnight construction and slow there now with afternoon volume. later on the construction will really slow us down. the roosevelt boulevard and red line road a crash with speeds in

live double scan no precipitation, we had the beauty of a blue sky today with the low humidity and temperatures running below average, 80 right now in the lehigh valley. the same for reading and 82 in philadelphia that was the high for today and 82 in wilmington and dover as well as millville and along the shore 77 in beach haven and the ocean temperature pleasant at 75 degrees, sinking air overhead and you can't really get the clouds to form and with the dry air mass in place, no humidity whatsoever to fuel some of those clouds, but small changes are arriving here tomorrow and especially by the end of the week. for tonight it's clear and cool and we are in the comfy zone and 56 in the suburbs with a light wind out of the southwesterly direction and tomorrow the highs off the coast. it is still comfortable and we don't pump in the humidity right away.
