"action news" reporterhristie ileto lin ester nowith details. christie? >> reporter: monica, it's likely there cod beore people involved in this according to court documents. this wasn' random. they weren't leaving empty handed. >> cop cars came from 24th street to here, 25th street. they had bright lights -- flashlights going checking the suspect here over in the alley. >> reporter: the sudden flur eve activity she spotted was the police looking for richard johnson and erinn howarth, possibly the housekeeper of fleming's neighbor dennis mccarthy. the pair were allegedly after the 75-year-old's safe that

housed cash and jewelry. court documents reveal they he mccarthy up at gunpoint demanding the combination to the safe. when he told them that he didn't know it, they tied his handsnd feet with cords and ransacked the bedroom trying to beat open the safe. mccarthy's 49-year-old daughter who came home during the invasion was severely beaten and bleeding badly. >> no one heard something. if they did, someone would have said something. police officers live in this neighborhood. >> reporter: you were in your living room and never heard a thing. >> not until i heard the cop car come with the lights and the sirens. >> reporter: mccarthy managed to untie himself once the suspects made off with the safe and police found him sitting outside something for a -- asking for an ambulance for his daughter. >> i was highly shocked and surprised. things like that typically don't happen in this neighborhood. >> reporter: it's unclear how the suspects entered the home, but hours before the invasion, howarth and johnson reportedly stopped by the mccarthy home to pick a bikini the 25-year-old had left there. according to court documents, it's that bikini that was discovered in a backpack in one of the bedrooms after the home

allegations, they then discovered photos and videos of him allegedly having sex with two females, one of whom was 14. a new jersey community is demanding to know why the water from their tap is turning brown. they showed up at a township meeting tonight with samples in hand to confront officials and get answers. aftershocks rattled the already shocked town in italy searching for survivors. the death toll is now 250 with hundreds hospitalized. still not clear how many people are missing, this area was packed with people on summer vacation and the window for finding people alive in the rub is now closing. experts say the first 48 hours after a quake are critical. still, more than 200 people have been rescued since that quake struck. police in brazil have now charged olympic swimmer ryan lochte with filing a false robbery report, and that charge carries a maximum penalty of 18 months in prison. lochte must now decide whether to defend himself in brazil or he could be tried in absentia.

he said that he and three other swimmers were pulled over in their taxi and robbed on their way back to the olympic village. the video evidence shows the swimmers were actually approached by security guards and they accused them of vandalizing a bathroom. lochte later apologized saying he exaggerated parts of the story. two catholic nuns who helped the poor in rural mississippi were killed in their home, and officials say it appears it happened during a break-in. the nuns were both nurse practitioners. their bodies were found this monk when they did not report to work at a nearby clinic. police say their car's missing. it was likely stole. the nuns were identified as sister margaret held and sister paula mural who was 68. investigators are now scouring surveillance video in that town to try to spot anything unusual. "healthcheck" tonight, the maker of epipen is now offering patients more help in paying for the life-saving allergy injector but they're not lowering the

the eagles are preparing for saturday's game ainst e colts. it's preseason game number three. generally considered to be the most imptant one. the eagles are 2-0 in this exhibition season but the first team offense has been far from sharp. coach doug pederson is expecting more out of his team this go-around. >> this has been the first time we've practiced starters all three days. with sort of an inseason type mentality.
