could impact the jersey shore. lets check in with adam joseph. >> brand new information from the hurricane center, our coastline in new jersey as well address the delaware beachs under a tropical storm watch for the upcoming weekend, meaning the potential is there for tropical storm conditions from seaside heights to rehoboth beach in delaware. as we look at the latest with the hurricane hermine on stormtracker 6 live double scan you see the center of the storm winding up and an eye is beginning to develop in the center of hermine, it continues to deepen and strengthen with wins sustained at 75 miles per hour. the eye of the storm is where you get clear air and it's right around the eye is where you have the most intense wind and rain and you get tornadoes on the

northeast side of the storm. this to be the very first hurricane to make landfall in the state of florida in 11 years. there you see the rain brands, intense bands pivoting in around the storm as it heads towards florida and expected to make landfall later on tonight. it's 85 south of apalachicola at the latest hour expected to make landfall at 10:00, 11:00 tonight and curve it's way into south carolina and into north carolina friday into saturday, as it weakens down to 50 miles per hour. and then it merge ofz the coast on saturday, it is going to get stuck and stall just off our coastline sunday through tuesday and notice something here, between saturday, sunday and monday, the winds increase as the storm strengthens a little bit just off of our coast. melissa magee is live in wildwood right now, the late of

in that a tropical storm watch in effect for where you are. >> reporter: well, adam i can understand why with that storm sitting to the south and east as we head into the weekend. i'll want to talk about the shore effects and impacts into late saturday and sunday. for our coastal communities, this is a prolonged on shore wind event with the storm sitting and stalling due east of south jersey, we find winds gusting up to 60 miles per hour and that could cause power outaged as well. coastal flooding and beach erosion as we head into the weekend, heavy rain and flooded roads as well. shore impacts for the holiday weekend, one last hoorah before we get back into the season back to school and back to work. shore impacts over the holiday, on friday they are low, tomorrow is a good looking beach day, saturday morning not much of a concern but saturday afternoon

into the evening the rain and wind will really be increasing at that time and on sunday same thing holds true high impacts at the shore by then and the storm will be raining itself out meaning it will be weakening at that point. still a moderate concern by monday as we head into the weekend. back out here live adam, i can tell you that a lot of people are concerned about hermine, but they say it's not going to camper their holiday weekend plans and they are going be safe and careful and keep a watchful eye to the sky and around them. for now monica i'll send it back inside to you. >> thank you melissa, our coverage continues with "action news" reporter gray hall in ventnor where there is the calm before the storm right gray? >> that is right. things have been quiet and gloomy and the beaches are pretty much bare, all calm now but as we inch closer to the weekend everyone knows that could all change.

>> an empty beach could be the calm before the storm as hurricane hermine inches closers to the jersey shore. it's a wait and see approach and many are staying clear of the water, i have never seen it this empty and i'm coming down since i was 5 years old and never seen it this empty. this storm has everyone going crazy. it's crazy. >> lifeguards expect fewer people with rain and winds in the forecast. hermine can cause beach erosion and coastal flooding and heavy surf. this is not ideal water for a dip in the ocean and conditions will be dangerous. i would not recommend going past your knees and waist deep you can get sucked out fast. stuck on the inside and can't get up. it's dangerous especially not near a lifeguard. >> bad weather is not good for the business along the beach. workers like david ortiz depends

from tampa to tallahassee, and cedar point and cedar grove and apalachicola, and as we look at information we have over the open waters with stormtracker 6 live double scan you see the wins there 45 miles per hour gusting to 56 with the wave height near the center of the storm after 25 feet, you get a wall of water in the form of heavy rain and then the storm surge and intense surf. 85 miles south of apalachicola, florida, and winds sustained at 75 miles per hour. and moving north-northeast at 14 miles per hour. as it makes landfall around the midnight hour just to the east of apalachicola, it will then skirt into southern parts of georgia and south carolina and north carolina by saturday morning at 2:00 a.m. as it weakens from wins near 80 miles per hour to 50 miles per hour and then it emerges out over the

the weekend for all of the jersey shore and the beaches in delaware and this extends all the way down to the carolinas. as we track it with future tracker 6 it should make landfall at midnight at the panhandle of florida. southern georgia and south carolina tomorrow afternoon at 5:00. you start to see it falling apart a little bit and then it reemerges off the coast of virginia and north carolina early on saturday morning. it is cloudy to start here on saturday, and dry in the morning. and then things start to go downhill saturday afternoon and evening, there is the center back over the open waters of the atlanticic, 5:00 on saturday with rain starting in philadelphia and then starts to deepen and strengthen off our coast as it is over the water and gets energy, you see sunday morning heavy rain in the city of philadelphia along with the shore. so what to expect at this point given the track we see right now, it's three days away and this could shift a bit.
