investigators say they got the call just past 11 o'clock this morning. they quickly arrived at this home on the 2100 block of kumry road in milford township to find a two-year-old boy had been shot. the toddler was quickly taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. the crime section commander for pennsylvania state police troop m says his office investigate a lot of grisly scenes but nothing really prepares you for cases like these. >> it's extremely d the trooper scene had a two-year-old and so something like this is that much mover difficult. >> reporter: investigators say at this point it seems the toddler accidentally shot himself. state police are not trying to answer the questions of automatically surfaced questions including how did a two-year-old gain access to a loaded gun. and that's the very question that neighbors here in this rural section of bucks county are asking as well. >> loaded guns, they got to keep them locked up. children watch tv, you know,

and they figure it's a play gun or whatever and it happens. >> we're not, you know, in the roughest area of philadelphia and even then, you should not have a gun at your bedside or anywhere that a child could get but this area definitely not. >> reporter: well, no word at this hour where the toddler's mother lives but we're told she has been notified. we're also told that the father has been questioned but so far no charges have been filed. reporting live from milford township bucks county, walter perez channel6 "action news." sharrie. >> walter, thank you. one of our region's biggest employers is moving its headquarters to the banks of the schuylkill river. air mark just revealed plans to relocate from east market street up the way to an industrial building on the riverfront at 2400 market street. the move is set to happen in 2018. and this is what it will look like. nine stories with five newly

"action news"'s sarah bloomquist will have new details on aramark's plans in a live report at 5 o'clock isn't septa is dealing with another setback on its regional rail line today. the agency says it's pulling cars off the rails again because of a new problem inspectors just discovered. john rawlins is live with details and refraction from frustrated riders. this is something of a two step forward one step back kind of story. the maker of the silver liner five cars a south korean firm thought it had an intermediate fix for the problems that was ailing the new fleet. it looked good on paper we're told but a real world inspection on saturday showed otherwise. >> it's not an immediate big safety issue but it's nothing -- it's not a desirable situation. >> reporter: septa's ceo talking about this latest setback, trouble with its fix for its grounded silver liner five cars at a plant in bucks county they have been working

for weeks on a new improved equalizer beam assembled with something called a pinned foot but announced today the steel pins were showing inspected wear after just 10 days of use. on the left an unused pin, on the right one that had been worn apparently after rubbing against the trains' existing truck assembly frame. >> the truck frame was also getting rubbing on it which is, you know, you don't wander to damage another component and create more trouble for yourself. >> reporter: hyundai rotem is working on a modification but septa has to ground the 14 cars it had put back in service beginning late last month. not good news for riders. >> i don't really have anything against it but i can't wait for it to like go back to normal. >> reporter: the hope is this setback will only cost the system days. the hope is to be able to modify the existing pin foot system. the goal septa says is to fix it quickly but to make sure it's done right. >> it's a tough situation 'cause everything has to be done quickly but everything

has to be done carefully and you -- we go back and we check everything. >> reporter: well, the septa ceo says the hope is that hyundai will be able to make the modified fix and have it in place by the end of the week. as far as their process is concerned the goal for septa is to get back to a normal regional rail schedule by early october. live in center city, john rawlins channel6 "action news." brian. >> all right, john, thank you. we've got some breaking news to get to here now at 4 o'clock. we're taking you to the scene here where a two-car crash along the blue route in radnor township in delaware county. as you can see it's a bit of a mess. this vehicle here is actually off the main road and into the brush area near the guardrail there. this all happening just about 30 minutes ago. >> it is near the county line road overpass. the southbound side of the blue route, there are injuries reported as a result of this accident. you can see a tow truck pulling away from the scene right now but moments ago it appeared that they were about to pull that car off the

median and rehe move it from that. obviously a person has -- we believe been transported at this point and you can see at least one lane is shut down there on the blue route right now and there is quite a significant backup piling up as we speak. and as we approach the evening rush. we're going to keep our eyes closely on this situation. we do not yet know what caused this but we'll bring you any new details on this as "action news" continues. alicia. >> we start with hillary clinton who we know now is battling pneumonia. the democratic nominee canceled her campaign stops in california today and she is resting at home in new york. clinton was seen stumbling nearly collapsing needing help after she left the 9/11 memorial in new york city yesterday. her aides say she was overheated and dehydrated. an hour later she emerged from her daughter chelsea's apartment. >> how are you feeling secretary clinton? >> i don't know what's going

all the northbound lanes are now opened but it's jammed in both directions. might want to think about using 320 or 252 instead of the the blue route this afternoon. a crash on the route one media bypass northbound past 252 passing the old granite run mall. a wreck earlier this afternoon on 422 westbound side at sanatoga. just 6 miles per hour passing that scene. i think i'd use seven outwore to get around that. on the vine street expressway extra heavy eastbound across town this afternoon because of an earlier disabled vehicle on 95 and northbound. disabled truck at the end of the ramp from the ben franklin parkway to the westbound side and going into delaware there was a truck fire here at the base of the delaware memorial bridge. all off to the side now but traffic is jammed solid approaching the bridge again delaware bound. let's grab the ipad do the commuter report. a truck hit a school bus along red lion road by lums pond state park. we'll continue following that and all the other situations

customers were sad to learn the rest of the business has heavy smoke and water damage. >> they're good people. i've had them work -- work done by them twice. excellent people. it's a shame. >> now, investigators are still working to figure out the cause of the fire. no one was hurt here. >> an early morning arson at a florida mosque is being investigated as a possible hate crime. police believe this surveillance video shows a man running away after he deliberately set fire to the islamic send for fort pierce. that's the mosque attended by orlando nightclub shooter omar mateen before his rampage. given that information plus it's the beginning of a muslim holiday authorities are concerned. the mosque has extensive fire damage. aerial spraying against mosquitos began today in broward county florida. that area has 100 cases of travel related zika virus. officials are using a chemical considered less toxic than the

we won't be talking much about ian because with its northwesterly trek, it will stay east of bermuda and then curve out to sea in the north atlantic so not affecting any land mass and expected to stay only as tropical storm strength. as we look at the four day at 4:00 forecast, tomorrow 86 degrees, again sunny, a bit warmer than today, back above average but still feeling pretty nice with low humidity. and then near record heat again on wednesday. the record is 92 set back in 1995. we should top off around 91 but a strong cold front comes through, no rain but it's bright beautiful find it. thursday just 80 degrees and wall to wall sunshine on friday, sunny and gorgeous just like today with a temperature of 82. we'll let you know if that fall feeling continues through the upcoming weekend and we'll have to duke it out as it gets towards the summer season we'll let you guys know when i come back inside i have to for the next half hour. >> you have to. >> promise.

"action news" reporter chad pradelli live in olney this afternoon where one family is really fed up with this situation. chad. >> reporter: yeah, brian, the philadelphia school district says it's having serious problems with one of its outside busing vendors its a vendor that deals with

students with special needs and for the family who lives here behind me, it was a long first week of school. >> carolyn and ted waters and their grandson brandon coleman waited and waited. the school bus never came. not wednesday, not thursday and not friday. even more troubling, the junior at frankford high school is severely mentally challenged. >> what's the school telling you? >> there's no bus available, the route has been canceled, the driver quit. >> reporter: ted waters says he's getting the run around. what makes him even angrier after taking his grandson to school last bethesda the school allegedly told him brandon would be bussed home. but two hours after school ended, waters got a call. >> got a phone call from the school around 5 o'clock, come get him. you drop him off you got to get him. we're not responsible for getting him home. >> reporter: waters doesn't have a car. the school told him brandon would be dropped off at the 15th police district. that didn't happen.

the family ended up filing a missing persons report when they couldn't find brandon. 7:30 that a that night a bus pulled up with brandon. >> the school board never once called me back and said we found a bus to bring him home. >> reporter: the school district released a statement to "action news" that reads in part "this one bus vendor which we are currently assessing penalties for has fallen short on 25 bus routes affecting performance to about 23 schools. this situation is unacceptable for parents, children and the school district of philadelphia. "and the school district tells me it is working to remedy the situation. as for vertebra and done coleman the family tells me he was picked up this morning al he bee it a and hour and a half late and he arrived here back home about 10 minutes ago. i'm live in olney, chad pradelli channel6 "action news." >> all right, chad, thank you. a deadly stabbing in falls township appears to be the result of a domestic dispute. police responded to a home on foster drive around 4:30 this morning.

they found 59-year-old david matthias the third dead from a stab wound to the neck. his former girlfriend was severely injured and bleeding outside other street. she was able to tell police some of what happened. >> the male entered the house, some kind of altercation then ensued. from her statement, she did inflict injuries on him. we're unsure of the manner of those injuries and then fled the house. >> well, police say the woman and matthias lived there together at that home until they recently broke up and matthias moved out. the woman they tell us remains hospitalized this afternoon. investigators are working to determine if she will face any charges. >> a camden county man is accused of using his neighbor's wifi to download child pornography. investigators have arrested 55-year-old louis lasalle of clementon. they say he had 33,000 images and 700 videos on a laptop computer.

now investigators initially searched the house next door on woodmill drive but quickly determined those homeowners were not involved. lasalle allegedly used their wifi signal which was not password protected. he's being held on $150,000 bail. a man has been spotted taking pictures of unsuspecting women in dressing rooms at a target in ocean county. brick township police released these surveillance image of their guy hoping someone recognizes him. they he say he reached under the stall doors with his phone to take pictures on two different days, august 29th and then again on friday september 9th. investigators say he drives an older model bmw with tinted windows. you're asked to contact detectives if you recognize this man. >> firefighter were battling a house fire in delaware county for hours this afternoon. chopper6 was overhead as they worked on the roof there. the fire department says crews found live wires on the home when they first arrived on

calcon hook road. because of that they had to wait until power was shut off before they could attack the flames. no word yet on exactly what sparked the fire. >> you know we haven't had a lot of days that i would describe lately as perfect. today fits the bill though. >> it does. temperatures are down, humidity is down and it's actually enjoyable. >> yeah. >> to be outdoors. >> it's nice. >> really news. as we take a look and confirm that region to region. in penn's landing you can see he some clouds developing in the far distance. that's part of a sea breeze that's trying to work in developing some of the clouds there. the temperature 83, the dewpoint bone dry, 45 degrees and in fact when you factor in the dewpoint and the air temperature your heat index is actually lower than the air temperature because it is so dry with the wind out of the southeast at 7 miles an hour. and a beautiful day to hit the sand as well. cool down there, 75 degrees. but the ocean is still at 74 with the wind out of the southeast so a bit of a sea

breeze along the communities right along new jersey and delaware and in easton deep blue sky, you can see not a cloud to be found here and in northampton county 81 degrees. the heat index lower than the air temperature as well with that dewpoint of 44 but if you like that summer feeling and near record highs, it will be back somewhere in the seven-day forecast. but that fall feeling is going to win out in those seven days. we'll show it to you guys in just a little bit. >> all right adam thank you. thousands of philadelphia high school students are expected to benefit from new federal funding. the u.s. department of education awarded $3 million to philadelphia's college access centers. those help prepare students for higher education. the grant will serve 1200 students per year at five public high schools including kensington ca p. a where and officials made the announcement today. >> bit of an opposite situation here where a funding fight is shaping up over how much money is put into philadelphia public schools. tomorrow a lawsuit heads to

the state supreme court. >> an early morning house fire tore through a home in tennessee killing nine members of one family overnight. four adults and five children died. another child is in the hospital right now fighting for their life. memphis firefighters rushed to the house when someone inside called 911. investigators are still looking for a cause but we do know the blaze started in the living room. they also say the house had a security door and bars on the windows which hampered the family's escape. >> this is the most tragic loss of life in a single fire

incident since the 1920's. the hearts of the men and women of the department are heavy and deeply touched from the dispatcher who took the call to the first responders who were on the scene. >> most of the victims died from smoke inhalation. firefighters did find a smoke detector. it was too damaged to tell if it was working at the time. >> tonight a lot of eyes will once again be on colin kaepernick waiting to see if the 49ers quarterback keeps up his protest against racism and police brutality. since the preseason he has refused to stand during the national anthem and he's getting more support from fellow players. yesterday a number of players for the dolphins and the patriots they kneeled or raised a fist to show their solidarity. meanwhile sea hawks players and coaches stood united on their side line. >> hopeful it's going to unify our country to where there's a message that needs to be heard and so you heard us.

libya and she was having contractions when she got on board the rubber boat. she's among 2300 migrants who were rescued in 18 sea missions yesterday. the charity running the operation says there were no scales, there were no rulers to mark the little guy's birth. his name is newman by the way. just longitude and latitude of the boat he was on which was somewhere between libya and malta making a lot of questions for one cute little newborn. now a special story about a really special ice cream man. this is 89-year-old sanchez and he's pretty loved in chicago and not just for the popsicles he sells. he works day and night and he is now become the recipient of a generous viral fundraising campaign. you see just a few weeks ago, his daughter died and he and his wife found themselves suddenly caring for two grandsons. a stranger started a crowned

funding campaign which has now raised more than $166,000 and counting. all so sanchez can raise those boys. he says he's overwhelmed by the compassion and the generosity and even though he can finally take a chance to rest, he says he has no plans of retiring. which by the way good news to everyone who lovers those popsicles and him of course. and finally if you are looking to get into the restaurant business your big break could be sitting in the poconos. the owners of an old diana rocco are giving away the building and everything inside for free. you see, they closed the tannersville diner last year then tried to sell it for $30,000. no buyers came forward so now they just removed the price tag. altogether. it's completely free. all you have to do is haul it away. >> i think it's a shame to demolish something that maybe somebody -- some young couple wants to start a business and this could be their start.

pedestrian in tredyffrin township chester county right by conestoga high school along conestoga road at irish road. watch out for the emergency crews responding there. our crash on 422 westbound by sanatoga cleared out of the way. everything is reopened but still a little bit sluggish as you head out towards pottstown this afternoon. also had an accident most of the afternoon in abington township along 611 old york road by the boston market. i think i'd just stay over on easton road to get around that mess. this is the roosevelt boulevard northbound side here by wissahickon. there was a broken down vehicle. gone now but of course it's still slow coming off the schuylkill onto broad street and coming off the schuylkill on the vine eastbound jams solid across town westbound jamming approaching 76 as well but luckily our broken down truck here westbound is gone. still have this truck that was on fire as you get into delaware right across the span of the delaware memorial bridge. all the activity is off to the side and luckily the delay approaching the toll plaza has vanished as well. we'll check it again brian and sharrie, coming up in the 5 o'clock hour. >> okay, matt, thank you.

near trenton and east of philadelphia. as we close in a little bit closer, this is the sea breeze. storm tracker6 being powerful enough to show where the wind shift is moving in and you can see it is pushing from the east to the west. this little line which you'll notice if you look outside near trenton or florence riverside and you look east you can see the clouds propagating and it's not thick clouds but there's some that continue to push from the east to the west so pretty neat feature to he see that you don't always see on the radar scope but in fact when you take a look at the temperatures you can see east of that front it is pushed back into the lower and the mid 70's 'cause the ocean temperature is 74 but then just to the other side of that front it's 83 in philadelphia, 80 in trenton, 81 in wilmington and this could make it as far east or west i should say as philadelphia where temperatures could fall quickly here into the upper 70's. high pressure overall in control and that's suppressing a lot of heat and humidity down into the carolinas again

supplying a beautiful blue sky in new england as well as the great lakes region. so clear calm with that fall feeling overnight tonight. 50's in the suburbs, 63 for center city. 86 your high temperature tomorrow so we're back a little bit above normal but still low humidity with double barrel high pressure in control avoiding the sky of a lot of cloud cover. the highs weaken a cold front approach from the north and we squeeze a southwesterly wind here wednesday so it turns more humid, it's hot, 91 chose to the record of 92 set back in 1995 and after that front passes through, and as you could see there's some precipitation, it looks like unfortunately the rain is going to fall apart when the front pushes through so the parched land will not see any rain with this and then high pressure comes in back behind it to drop the temperatures for the rest of the week. the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, sunny warmer here tomorrow at 86. and then again that near record heat on wednesday, humid as well but it's only for one day of 91 degrees.
