we are following breaking news tonight regarding samsung's problems surrounding their popular galaxy note 7. the phone is blamed on dozens of fires and injuries. samsung issued the first recall affecting millions of phones. nydia han has more information. >> federal safety officials announced the official recall of 1 million of these galaxy note 7 smart phones. and another dire warning and because this is such a serious fire hazard, consumers need to take advantage of the recall right away. >> consumers were understandably awaiting this announcement and now it is the time to act. >> samsung has received 92 reports of batteries overheating in the u.s. and 26 reports of burns and 55 reports of property

damage. fires in cars and the garage. >> this recall provides two options and that is important. you can get a replacement or refund. consumers should look for the special code etched on the bottom of the back, that is the key to figuring out whether or not the phone that the consumer has is connected to this recall or not. plug the number into samsung,.com or call the company and then call their wireless company or samsung for a refund. and now more information about other samsung phones bursting into flames. according to an owner of a phone that is not the galaxy note 7, this phone overheated and burst into flames in a cafe and this fire in florida is blaming it on the phone that was on the passenger seat. >> and arizona state university student says his samsung started

>> reporter: rick and monica, i can tell you that that shooting happened on a tuesday several hours ago and state police were there and removed crime scene tape from the home and tonight investigators are working hard to figure out who did this and why. and this community is hoping for some answers, and some justice. >> this is a pretty quiet town so when something like this does happen, we are saying oh, no not us now. >> neighbors cannot be a crime like this happened in this community. divorced mother, stephanie ruth that lived in the home here on pine crest lane was murdered. it happened just feet from her front door, police say someone shot her in her driveway returning home from work at success a.m. >> it's a close neighborhood and when something happened like this, we are just shaken and then we read it wasn't random, now we are concerned about well

i was there just momentarily and he is speaking and in good spirits, he is a tough kid. his partner killed one suspect and two others were arrested and the doctors say that vidal has months of recovery ahead. from our new jersey newsroom tonight, state police charged a sixth person in the shootout on the atlantic city expressway. wilbur faced three weapons possession charges, police say he had taken himself to a philadelphia hospital after the shooting and that allowed them to match the dna found inside of a shoot connected with the shooting. that left one dead and others injured. jurors are make up the jury for frein, the day corporal bryon dickson died.

google play stores. one person is treated for serious injuries in a crash that happened 90 minutes ago in the hunting park section of philadelphia. you can see how bad this crash was along fox street. chopper 6 hd was overhead as officers try to piece together what happened. there is still no arrests in the murder of 64-year-old robert lynch, who was stabbed 77 times and then set on fire in his german town apartment. neighbors noticed a smell in their apartment complex last week. his body was discovered after the fire was put out. they identified a person of interest but have not released any details. two tractor trailers and an suv collided on the new jersey turnpike but amazingly nobody was hurt. this is the scene at cherry hill at exit 3 and 4, the tractor

trailer ended up on their sides, the cause of the crash is under investigation. philadelphia police just released new pictures they believe assaulted a woman during the made in america concert. they want you to take a good look at him. detectives say he grabbed a random woman's arm and bit her so hard he made her bleed. the 19-year-old told police it happened in the general admission area at the concert and got treatment for her injuries at a concert medical tent. this is 24-year-old william loper and dover police charged him with robbing two people he arranged to by a cell phone from. it happened outside of the pine grove apartments, people connected with loper used a resale app and loper took the cash, watches and cell phone and took off. he face a long list of charges tonight. a man was seen on

streaming in from the west be overall not much in the way of damage here and will fall apart and not obscure the almost full moon. satellite and radar to the south, we have tropical storm julia spinning off the coast of the carolinas, most of the heavy rain and north and east of the center. it's displaced from the center of julia. drifting to the south and west and only a couple of showers along the immediate shore line of the carolinas. but back at home a chill in the air tonight, in fact the coolest night in three months, you have to go back to june 18th to match a temperature as col as 59 and the lehigh valley tomorrow morning 49 degrees, the bus stop tomorrow morning especially in the suburbs may need a sweatshirt or light jacket to start the day with temperatures in the mid to upper 50s. given we have not felt that cool air in quite sometime.
