the explosion that rocked new york city and injured 29 people. it is a gray and dreary end to the weekend and rain is on the way. >> let's get right to the the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast with meteorologist chris sowers. hi, criminals. >> reporter: good afternoon to you, guys. it doesn't feel too bad out here, it's more humid than 24 hours ago, with all the cloud cover it's keeping the temperatures down. let's look at satellite and radar. it depends on where you are. if you're watching down at the jersey shore, it's been completely sunny all morning long. shaping up to be a beautiful day down the shore. everybody else is locked in pretty good, thick clouds spreading from west to east. here's the view in cape may. you have folks in the water, enjoying themselves, soaking it all in. temperatures are really starting to warm, where we are picking up the sun. these are heat indices, almost feels like fall to the northwest and august to the southeast.

millville feels like 90 degrees. dover, 91. atlantic city at the airport, 88. cape may, 85. up to the are north in the lehigh valley they are barely cracking # 80 degrees in the poconos in the 70s. forecast for today, mostly cloudy skies, there could be a spotty thunderstorm in spots late, mainly west in philadelphia. it will be warm and sticky, 87 degrees. the noon information just now coming in, here's what it looks like on future tracker 6 tomorrow morning appears to be a big mess especially across south jersey and the i-95 corridor. a lot of heavy thunderstorm activity and the drenching downpours. when i come back in just a few minutes i'll time it out for you on future tracker 6. i'll let you know how much rape to expect in your neighborhood and warmer accuweather seven-day forecast. >> a violent night on the streets of philadelphia had police responding to multiple

scenes. for the second time in two days, someone opened fire on officers. "action news" reporter, bob brook joins us live at central detectives. bob, good news here no officers were hurt. >> that's the good news, no officers were shot, but shot at again another night in the city. there were four separate shooting scenes with another night filled with violence. two philadelphia police officers are fired at again, this time on south street. deserves say two officers -- detectives say two officers approached two suspects getting high on the corner. >> smokeying appeared to be -- smoking 57d to be marijuana -- appeared to be marijuanale. four shots by one of the males that was corned by in the back -- cornered in the back of the area where there is fenced in bricked in yards. miraculously police did not

discharge their weapons during the confrontation, they were able to safely effect an arrest of the two suspects. >> reporter: this comes after a rampage in west philadelphia, that's where police sergeant sylvia young was ambushed in her car shot at by a mad man a staggering 18 times. that suspect was killed by police not before he shot another officer in the leg. the crime spre -- spree continues. a 22-year-old man is found lying on street shot in the arm. port richmond, investigators say three people were shot at the castor club parking lot. one man was hit ten times. in north philadelphia it's reported two men were robbed sitting in their car around 4:30 a.m. before the two suspects took off, the driver was shot in the head, the passenger in the arm. back out live, we are hearing

that a fourth victim was shot in port richmond in the parking lot. as for sergeant young who was shot at 18 times she was only hit in the arm and expected to be okay. now reporting live in central detectives. bob brooks, channel 6 "action news." >> it is described as miraclous by philadelphia police commissioner, sergeant sylvia young ambushed in her own cruiser after being shot 8 times. police radio gives you an glimpse of the intensity of the horrifying ordeal. >> i'm at 51st street. help me please. >> wow, difficult to listen to, that's part of the radio call made by sergeant young after being shot by nicholas glen late friday. a 25-year-old woman was killed in the shooting spree. four others were shot but survived. this noon, we know that nicholas

glen was 25 years old, he had a long criminal record. he left evidence of his hatred of police and probation officers in a rambling note after shooting him in the friday night rampage. the commissioner praised his officer's actions. >> the restraint that they used during the foot pursuit down sansom street is nothing short of just miraculous, i mean, because this guy is firing at everybody on the streets that he sees. >> the commissioner said that glen had a 9-millimeter handgun and three magazines, as well as a plastic bag holding more live rounds. >> investigators are trying to track down how he got the gun. serial number had been removed. from our delaware newsroom, wilmington police are searching for answers after a double shooting that left a 19-year-old woman dead. officers responded to the 200 block of west 20th street

after midnight. the woman had been shot in the back. about a block away, police found a 19-year-old man who was shot. both were rushed to the hospital where the woman died. anyone with information is asked to call wilmington police. 12:07. we turn our attention to the explosion in new york city that injured two dozen people. today governor andrew cuomo is calling it an act of terrorism, but no evidence of international terrorism. >> ray ramondi joins us on the scene with new developments. >> reporter: gray and nydia, we know from the govern of new york, he said the fbi collected fragments from the explosion, those fragments are on the way down to fbi headquarters where agents will comb through them to determine who is responsible for placing it right here. watch this surveillance video capturing the moments when the

blast occurred. take a look from a different angle debris flying pedestrians running for cover. >> we heard the explosion and then it went boom! >> it was so loud it started shaking my body. i turned around i looked in the middle of street there was a big cloud of smoke. [sirens] >> reporter: police say chaos erupted around 8:30 p.m. saturday night. debris scattered everywhere, the govenor of new york getting a firsthand look at the scene. >> a bomb exploding in new york is obviously an act of terrorism, but it's not linked to international terrorism, in other words we find no isis connection. >> nothing is going to happen. okay. nothing is going to happen to you. >> this cell phone video capturing the moments a good samaritan helping a bloody victim one of 29 injured.

>> there was a flash of light and everything was -- >> reporter: authorities believe the explosion was an intentional act, coroner terrorism officers k-9 searching the area. >> as of this time the exact cause of the explosion has not been determined. >> reporter: and the governor said it's absolutely incredible hours after the explosion all 29 people injured and taken to the hospital have been treated and released. the governor said he plans on deploying 1,000 state officers to the new york area thickly and populated area and on the transportation system as a precaution. he is insuring new yorkers at this hour they should go on and live their lives as normal the terrorists will not win in this situation. live in new york, ray ramondi,

channel 6 "action news." >> fbi is investigate an explosion at a charity run to benefit marines and sailors in seaside new jersey. the bomb went off at ocean avenue and d street. runners would have been passing by at the time of the blast, but the 5k was canceled after an unattended backpack was found. after the bomb blast police flooded the area and found three pipes wrapped together inside the garbage can, only one pipe donated. >> we're trying to see how sophisticated the device was in terms of the timing elements and everything else, that will be determined by the state police and fbi and atf. >> the blast was powerful enough to shake nearby homes. nobody was hurt. a discovery outside a center city church has the

afternoon a combination of sun and clouds, or more clouds than sun. one or two areas west of philadelphia could see a pop-up shower or thunderstorm. should not amount to all that much. if you see it, it's not going to last all that long. the main event holds off until tomorrow morning. look at the explosion of showers and thunderstorms, drenching downpours, this is 7:00 a.m. in the heart of the morning commute. you will have to allow yourself extra time. 10:00 a.m., we're seeing drenching downpours, look at the line let's say southern portions of gloucester county millville, vineland down across the delaware bay and into kent and sussex county in delaware. that will continue just about all day areas southance east of the city. -- south and east of the city. drenching downpours in time for the morning commute. scattered showers thunderstorms possible, as well. it will occur from the 9 to 11:00 a.m. from the i-95 corridor south an east.

officers who were shot at were hurt. let's look at the video and take a look. what we have ask a quadruple shooting. 4:30 a.m. three women were shot two in the leg, one in the stomach. a man was shot there ten times. it went down at the caster club parking lot. two men around 4:30 a.m. when suspects showed up with guns and robbed them. before they ran off the driver was shot in the head, the passenger in the shoulder. also a 22-year-old was shot in the arm 15th and market in center city. and finally the two officers on south street were fired on by a suspect allegedly smoking marijuana on the corner of 9th. that suspect was arrested. the officers uninjured. >> the males were apprehended miraculously, police did not discharge their weapons during this confrontation.

>> reporter: back out live the firing upon officers comes just after sergeant sylvia young was ambushed by a madman who opened fire in her cruiser while she was sitting inside 18 times. luckily she was only struck in the arm and is expected to be okay. reporting live at central detectives, bob brooks, channel 6 "action news." >> the suspect in the one man shooting spree that terrorized west philadelphia had a long criminal record. he has been identified as 35-year-old glick atlantic city glen. police say he ambushed philadelphia police sergeant sylvia young shooting at her 18 times. 8 bullets hit her, thankfully she survived. another woman ambushed by the killer did not survive. three other civilians and u-penn police officer was shot. glen left a letter describing

his hatred of police and his parol officer. >> police have removed a suspicious device from a manhattan location four blocks from an explosion that injured two dozen people. the device has been safely removed by the bomb squad from west 27th street. around 8:30 an explosion in a trash bin tore through a section of west 23rd between 6ingth 6ingth -- 6th and 7th avenue. 29 people were injured, they were treated and released from the hospital. governor cuomo promised to find the suspects and bring them to justice. >> whoever placed these bombs we will find and they will be brought to justice. period. you have the finest police agencies in the world when you come to new york. and we will find who planted the

explosives and they will be punished. >> reporter: investigators have not found any connection to an incident in seaside heights new jersey where a pipe bomb exploded near a marine charity run. islamic state run news agency said the man who stabbed and injured 8 people at a minnesota mall was a soldier of isis. it is not clear if the extremist group planned the attack or knew about it. the suspect attacked 8 people in saint cloud last night. he was dressed in private security uniform and made references to allah and asked people if they were muslim. hillary clinton will bring a speech back to philadelphia

jersey, i-95 corridor, western suburbs cloudy at this point. heat indices feels like 0 is in dover. -- 01 in dover. low 80s north and west. water vapor this is the comfortable area of high pressure we've been enjoying over the last three days. it is slowly drifting out to sea. the dewpoints are in the 40s and 50s, very comfortable stuff. note it is no longer over the delaware and the lehigh valleys. we're seeing the moisture move in from the south very tropical dewpoints in place, that's part of the region why it feels uncomfortable. with the front bearing down from the northwest, all that moisture in place, that's all the ingredients you need pretty much for the drenching downpours. i'll show you on future tracker 6 what we're expecting. let's say combination of sun and clouds, more clouds than sun. one or two areas pick up a quick-hitting shower or thunderstorm. if you pick it up, it won't last
