khan rahami, wounded in a shootout. abc news ray ramondi is in new york. >> reporter: finally a suspect is in custody as investigators continue to search this area after the first explosion happened in manhattan. 28-year-old ahmad khan rahami, a suspect wanted for questioning for bombings in new york and new jersey now in police custody after a shootout with police in linden, new jersey. federal agents moving in searching his home in elizabeth, new jersey. the same city where yet another explosion took place overnight. the bomb squad trying to defuse one of five devices found in the backpack when it exploded. this while authorities say it was near the verranzano sunday night where fbi agents stopped

five men and detained them. the explosion in manhattan the chaos happening on a balmy saturday night. law enforcement officials moving rapidly and piecing together the investigation. >> the evidence is taken to the lab at quantico for review. we're following every viable lead as we work jointly with the nypd. >> reporter: investigators are looking at the dumpster twisted and mangled from the aftermath of the explosion. from the pipe bomb in seaside highlights park, to litz beth new jersey, they were able to connect him to the bombings in new york. police are trying to find out if he is working alone or network of terror. back to you. >> within the last 30 minutes, president obama thanked the first responders in new york and

new jersey for their response to the incidents over the past few days. >> he addressed the need for coordination between plol -- local state and federal organizations in the investigation. >> we'll make sure we get to the bottom of what happened anticipate find out what happened and make sure justice is done. >> attacks have left commuters on edge after the latest explosive device was discovered near a train station in elizabeth new jersey. many travelers dealt with major delays overnight into the morning hours. annie mccormick joins us live from 30th street station in center city where authorities added more security there, annie. >> reporter: rick and sarah, things are back to normal at 30th street station as far as delays and cancellations. amtrak said expect to see security all along the 6 hour corridor. the pennsylvania students were heading from new york overnight.

they did not know what was unfolding in elizabeth new jersey when they were told to exit the train. >> we got to penn station around 12:00, they waited on the train to figure out what was going on until 1:30 a.m. they took us off the train and then we just had to wait there until the next available train and that was late. >> reporter: this morning at 30th street station, amtrak police including k-9 officers kept a continuous look on the amtrak flip board. most of the trains oh, the northeast corridor were delayed or canceled. many had to rebook or find another way. >> i'm on my way to work. >> i got off her i have to wait an hour and a half to go back to wilmington. everything was canceled, so the day is a waste. >> reporter: travelers said the

rahami's arrest coming up at 12:30. >> accuweather tracking the chance for more downpours. going live outside, conditions are cloudy and wet. a round of heavy rain already came through this morning and flood advisory remains in effect for parts of the region. meteorologist david murphy has the latest from storm tracker 6 live double scan radar. >> reporter: sarah this has been a big, slow moving system. if you were following us in the predawn hours on "action news," it started out in the north and west with heavy rain getting 3 inches or more in places like berks county and it progressed through the i-95 corridor during the morning rush hour and it continued to shift to the east. we have rain down by the coast. there's additional precipitation that wants to inch toward i-95 before it gets away from us in the afternoon hours. right now the heaviest rain highlighted in yellow no longer in the deep shades of red that we had earlier. i'm not seeing lightning right now either.

obviously this is steady rain falling on top of one or two inches that we have seen, some of it is on the steady side. we've seen our costal flood advisory drop. i'll caution you take it slow and cautious when you're out there. if you run into any flooded areas avoid those. here's the second batch of rain coming out of washington. chester county delaware county and philadelphia wind up picking up some of that as we go through the next several hours. it pushing up from the southwest as it has all morning. the flood advisory which extended up the coast through lakehurst are down except in cape may county we have lingering problems with flooded roads. really you can see it elsewhere that's the concern right now. we may have more pockets of rain that will produce runoff that's producing street flooding, so be

at 7:00 p.m -- chester. nicholas glen ambushed sergeant sylvia young at 52 and sansom him glen fired 18 times and went on to shoot two people in a bar and two others in a car. a 25-year-old woman was killed. glen was shot in an exchange of gunfire with police. a pennsylvania of university officer was shot in the leg and released from the hospital. opening statements got underway in the so-called bridgegate trial. two former allies of governor chris christie are on trial for fraud and conspiracy and civil rights. they are accused of closing the lanes on the george washington bridge. the governor could be subpoenaed to testify during the trial. new developments in the

and oranges. there's flood warning in cape may county because there could flooded roads here or there. rain not as intense as philadelphia. i'll look closer on storm tracker 6 live. heading outside we have cloudy skies across the region, even down in chester near the commodor barry bridge where the rain has been letting up a little bit and probably start up again all over before to which longer. dewpoint in the upper 60s, wind out of the east at 5 miles per hour not all that strong. 75 in allentown. 74 in reading, 73 in wilmington. 71 in trenton. 69 in cape may. let's get a closer look at the rain. i'll focus on areas south of philadelphia. philadelphia is damp this rain that's heading up the i-95 corridor is slight to moderate. it will make roads wet again, but not as intense as this, at least not right now. we are looking at problems from

kent county south and through cape may county and all the way up through much of atlantic city county and cumberland county, as well. this is fairly steady rain not the super-heavy stuff we had early when most of the area was covered with a dark shade of red. i do expect this to be a problem for the next several hours, but eventually we're expecting this to break a part and clear off the coast. future tracker 6 is showing you that from now until 3:00 p.m. it could be fairly steady in parts of south jersey with philadelphia and areas around the i-95 corridor perhaps lightning up a little bit. we get past 3:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., we see most of this dry up. the model the last a couple of runs have been consistent with this. there were europeaner runs that -- there were earlier runs that kept us damp. 11:00 p.m., cesily tynan may havitis lated spotty showers to tell you about, but mostly we're
