it's a chilling site of a fallen hero, lieutenant christopher leach is covered by an american flag after being taken from the house he ran into to save people. flames erupted at 3:00 a.m., but the family made it out before crews arrived, it was a tragedy that could have been avoided. >> they must have thought something was trapped inside. it is a family of 8. all 8 got out. >> reporter: officials say the floor collapsed and christopher leach and three others fell into the basement. >> keep us in your prayers, all of our family is hurting significantly. >> reporter: at the school, more heartbreak, the sight of lieutenant christopher leach's three children. a teary-eyed ceremony was held. >> death is not the end.
