the historic visit by pope francis in the city of philadelphia. one year ago today. >> i remember leading up to that the weather was threatening into that weekend that looked like we were going to have this low pressure bring us rain. >> but the skies parted. >> high pressure moved out and like divine intervention and beautiful weather. not so beautiful weather heading our week and the storm tracker six double scan showing we have a few scattered light showers the man band of rain that i'm tracking is over harrisburg and that will be rolling through overnight and with the winds out of the south ahead of this system and the cloud cover temperatures not that cold right now. philadelphia is 69, down from the high of 73 which felt cool but that is actually one degree below normal and wilmington was 70, allentown 67 and cape may 71 with the blanket of clouds insulating the earth and not as low as this morning 53 and ten degrees ahead of that and action
11:16 pm
six showing a big comma shape that is a pretty powerful storm system low pressure up across the great lakes and what we are dealing with is a frontal passage and bring a round of rain and generally in the overnight hours so the morning rush the heavy rain should be over but there will be a little bit of left over drizzle and showers especially south jersey and delaware so some roads could be wet, temperatures again not that cold, at 6:00, 62 by 8:00, 63 degrees so future tracker showing the heaviest rain while most of us are sleeping around 1:30 we see the band moving through allentown and burkes county and lancaster county crossing into south jersey and delaware by about 4:00 in the morning and time for the morning commute with left over clouds and again some light showers across south jersey and delaware but as we head through the day these clouds will be moving out from the northwest to the southeast actually pretty nice day tomorrow afternoon with temperatures mid 70s and sunshine. the problem is that there is another system a cutoff upper
11:17 pm
level low that will meander in from late wednesday through thursday through friday and even the weekend, it's not feared by the jet stream this will just slowly move our way and that means each day we have a possibility of some rain. not going to be all day heavy rain everyday at this point it looks like the biggest chance will be thursday, 70% chance and then it drops off as we head through the weekend but it's not going to be a bright sunny week and it's not going to be a warm week kind of a big change for our first week of fall. so the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast tomorrow if you sleep in late you are fine and early showers and sunshine by the afternoon, temperatures about where they should be this time of the year and normal high is 74 and wednesday it's the opposite and start the day with some sun then the clouds roll in showers developing wednesday evening and the high ahead of that system relatively mild 77 degrees, thursday and friday is when your umbrellas will get a workout periods of on-and-off rain through much of the day
11:18 pm
thursday, 71, friday 72 degrees if that low pressure tracks right over us we could get 1-2" of rain so much needed rain heading our way heading into the weekend i think things will improve but it will be a gradual process so lingering showers on saturday for the temple game 73 degrees, sunday still a possibility of a lingering shower but generally clouds breaking for some sunshine and generally dry 75 degrees for roshana sunday night and monday and monday should be a pretty nice day with a high of 75 degrees so some lingering showers for the morning commute and good idea to watch action news beginning at 4:30. a hero's welcome in ben salem and lined the streets to welcome home 200 local veterans and men and women who fought for our nation were treated for a week long trip to the nations capitol and served world war ii or korea the tour of honor gave them a chance to visit various memorials and to pay their
