2-year-old benjamin smith was killed in a shooting inside of a home in milford township earlier this month. they announced the arrest of smith's father nicholas wiley arrested for involuntarily manslaughter and reckless endangerment. >> funeral plans are in place for former israeli president, perez. he died at able 93 weeks after suffering a massive stroke. perez was one of the last of israel's founding fathers and won the liberty medal in 1996. his trial will be held in jerusalem with dignitaries from around the world including possibly president obama. >> he worked tirelessly for israel, from the very first day to the last day of his life. >> katherine scott spoke with some representatives from the

donald trump is in the midwest hitting three states. this morning trump spoke to the polish american congress this afternoon and then heads to iowa for a rally. trump is trying to distance himself as what many see as a poor performance in the debate. he said was holding back because i he did not want to embarrass hillary clinton. turning to accuweather, we are turning to gloomy and damp conditions, looking live at philadelphia international airport from sky 6 hd. the rain is moving into the region and david murphy is tracking it all from the "action news" big board. >> most of the area is dry but some places getting steady rain at this point. the northern and western suburbs maybe some drizzle close to philadelphia but nothing more and scattered showers along 95, and moving in our direction and in south jersey and in areas close to center city as well. we are looking at some fairly steady rain and a little band of it pushing through.

this was wider a little while ago, see how it's thinning a bit. we did a facebook live where i was telling you may have to wait 30 to 60 minutes for this to pass. you get to the back edge of it over here. but obviously parts of philadelphia seeing this and the steadier stuff right where route 55 and the a.c. expressway and route 30 and 32 converge into areas of philadelphia. if we go south to the pike, again it's a fairly narrow band, the wider the south we go. slowly migrating to the east and route 55 getting some of this. heavy enough to cause ponding on the roadways. farther south cape may not really getting it just yet but a lot of the county is. and milford, delaware giving up that steadier stuff over the

police are questioning a person of interest after a deadly explosion in the bronx. the blast killed a high ranking firefighter. michael fayhi was killed by flying debris. the person that rents the house is asked whether protein tanks were used there for a marijuana growing operation. police in suburban san diego shot a plan at a strip mall and after he pulled something out of

his pocket and assumed a shooting stance. they say the man was acting erratically but witnesses say he was shot with his hands in the air. dozens of people showed up to protest the shooting facing officers in riot gear. the protest was peaceful with most just using their phones to record the scene. investigators conclude that a jet was shot down by pro russian rebels. it was shot down in 2014 killing everyone on board. they determined the missile was brought into ukraine from russia and fired by rebels backing moscow. a lone survivor of a mother-son fishing trip is facing questions. nathan carmen says he jumped on to a life raft when the boat sank and was unable to find his mother, linda. they were looking for evidence of reckless endangerment and

carmen's boat was in need of repairs and doing some of the work himself. there was no may day call or bad weather, the coast guard is releasing its conversation with carmen when he was aboard the cargo ship. >> there bad a funny noise in the engine compartment and i looked and saw a lot of water. >> investigators took a computer modem and a simcard from carmen's home. and now firefighters are fighting a devastating wild fire, it has already burned through three square miles of brush and timber. fire others say as of last night the blaze is only 10% contained. the fire broke out on monday during a statewide heat wave that brought dangerously low humidity and 90 degree temperatures to the area. >> the "action news"

talking about some of you getting a drizzle on the windshield. lets go ahead and take a look outside. pretty pictures on the ac cam from fairmount park earlier, we started out sunny but quickly transitioned to gray skies. so here is that rain from the two dim -- view, philadelphia itself has said good-bye to that little shower that came through earlier. the heavy stuff is mainly on the jersey side of the picture and it's really thinning out and it was much more pronounced over salem county than what you see now. if you are under this in glassboro, it may only be 15 to 20 minutes before it's out of way, a different story farther to the south willmar and millville, a wide area of precipitation, it's taking a lot long toward get through. in millville you start to encounter the steadier rain and

it may be with you for another 45 minutes before it is done and farther to the south, cape may is just about ready to pick up the blob of precipitation coming across the delaware beaches and across the delaware bay and again the movement is generally up to the northeast and you are likely to get clipped with that in cape may county as well. there is additional stuff to the south and west making its way into our direction. temperatures now are staying a bit cool with the rain and thicker cloud cover. 67 in philadelphia and dew point close to the temperature an indication with the saturation of the air and winds from the northeast at 8 miles per hour. coming in off the ocean and injecting more moisture into the picture. 66 in trenton and 66 in allentown and 71 in cape may. satellite and radar shows you once we get past all of this there is cloud cover to the south and 7:00 tonight we'll have some light showers and by
