arrest a berks county teacher for an inappropriate relationship with a student and water main repairs continue to block a stretch of lincoln drive. but the big story on "action news" is the arrest of a bucks county man in the death of his 2-year-old son. nicholas wiley went before a judge to face charges of manslaughter. he was home alone with his son when the boy shot himself with his father's handgun. gray hall is live with more in perkasie. >> reporter: well jim the father turned himself in to police earlier today and we did not hear from him or his family nor his attorney. today the district attorney did all the talking. >> this is no accident. this was an unintentional death certainly, but if you leave a loaded gun out there for your

2-year-old son to grab and this is the result that is no accidents. >> strong words from the bucks county describe attorney as he described the criminal case against nick lag wiley charged in the death of his 2-year-old son benjamin. the toddler found the gun and pulled the trigger and died of his injuries. this happened at a home where wiley lived with relatives, the dad was alone with his son on the tragic day. wiley and benjamin was watching television in the living room and the 2-year-old went to watch a cartoon in his own room and then the dad heard a loud bang and wiley found his son faceup bleeding on the floor fighting a gunshot injury. >> the defendant will serve a life sentence regardless of what happens to him criminally and that is the strategy here.

inappropriate relationship or inappropriate contact with a 17-year-old student. stephanie lucky was an english teacher at mule enburg high school and that lucky sent nude pictures of herself to a private twitter account she shared with a student. authorities learned about this case when an anonymous caller called the tip line this afternoon. hamilton township police continue to investigate last night's tragic accident just before 8:00 p.m., it happened in the 100 block of edinburgh road, a man was putting out the trash when he was rundown by the toyota sequoia and the suv slammed into the house. >> i go run up into the truck. shut it off. and the guy asks for his cell phone and grab that -- >> neighbor michael was first on the scene last night when an suv

traveling west on the 100 block of edinburgh road plowed into the house killing a man that lived there. >> it did not negotiate the curb but went straight and hit a mailbox and debris and the pedestrian in his driveway taking out his trash. the victim is identified as dan quinlin who lived in the home with his elderly parents. they were in the home but did not realize that dan was outside at the time. >> they were looking for him and then saw something inside of the debris -- >> he took the pictures after the crash the driver identified by police as jeff scroll of lambert villa peered to be dazed and said he blacked out. >> i'm still in shock. >> 10 seconds either way he would have been okay.

he went airborne over the hedges and didn't see it coming. >> the son was such a nice young fellow and helped his mother out all the time. >> this is a dangerous curve and it sees frequent actions. they are continuing the investigation and at this point don't believe that the driver was impaired. nora muchanic, channel 6 "action news." >> a stretch of lincoln drive remains closed tonight as crews work to repair a 6 inch water main, the problem first surfaced at 6:15 last night in green street west mt. airy. crews have been making repairs and people are without water service tonight and the road will remain closed for at least another three hours. jewish organizations all over the world are honoring the life of shimon peres tonight.

the rain has begun to move in. how long does this grim stuff last? >> not until the end of the weekend. but we need the rain. as we look at stormtracker 6 live double scan you can see heavy downpours in the western parts of the philadelphia suburbs and lancaster county and parts of berks county. another batch in delaware moving north and east from eastern parts of maryland, our first stop is to the west here near

lancaster and route 30 and honey brook and reading light showers now and heavier downpours are developing but as this lifts to the north and east it bumps into dry air in the north and so what was a decent thunderstorm is fall ago part there. with only one lightning strike but a good area of rain. you see this expanding near middletown and smyrna and dover and marysville over toest chestertown and no severe weather, but a good soaking rain heading into delaware and we'll watch this over the bay and parts of salem county and this passes up to philadelphia over the next couple of hours. as we look at temperatures it's on the cool side with the east-northeasterly wind and temperatures in the mid to upper 60s and raw and damp feel willing continue through the next couple of days. what is going on? we have low pressure, you see the spin here over the ohio

valley, that is feature number one and moisture gathering in off the eastern seaboard and these american and they park themselves and around the flow counterclockwise we get a flow off the ocean and 9:00 tomorrow morning dealing with downpours and a rumble of thunder and the same tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. and friday morning wet roadways around with the periodic downpours not a washout but rounds of rain passing through and still see it active 3:00 on friday afternoon. overall a good 1 to 2 inches of rain in much of the area, you get more as you head to the west in lancaster county and parts of delaware where there could be 2 to 4 inches of rain there. damp and dreary into the weekend and some localized flooding and more rain towards land caster
