they're hoping is a strange social media hoax involving a so-called creepy clown. messages like this one are circulating warning of an attack by clowns. the messages are so widespread that some local police departments and school districts are alerting parents. in toms river, new jersey, police are boosting their security presence around schools to ease the minds of parents and students. so-called creepy clown sightings have been reported throughout the country but in our area police say they've been -- there have been no credible threats. but in ohio one school canceled classes after a woman reported being attacked by a clown overnight. the scare seems to stem from a movie promotion which has sparked copycat reports. two students at albright college in reading have been suspend heed after school officials said they were responsible for video showing a student in black face. at one point in student spoke the words black lives matter into the camera. school officials say an

9:30 p.m. and then an hour or two later in the back bays so we'll just have to watch that again for some minor flooding here this evening. temperature-wise it is chilly once again. only up are 50's to the north and west, 63 philadelphia, 65 in millville, 66 down in dover and mid 60's along the shore. that spin it is still to the west in the ohio valley just south and west of cincinnati. and you can see kind of a conveyor belt of moisture wrapping from the south and then into that low there is more energy gathering in eastern parts of the carolinas. that's going to move up from the south late tonight and early tomorrow morning. but not in time thankfully for the high school football games here this evening. high school huddle tonight. all the highlights after the 11 o'clock news. recall cool soggy feel. not raining the whole time but it will be drizzling. kickoff temperature around 60 degrees by the fourth quarter not much change at 60. wear the fall gear as you head to some of those high school

of october tomorrow much like today a lot of mist and drizzle and at times pockets of heavy rain especially in the morning. the winds have eased quite a bit. most of the wind gusts were from yesterday with this system. 39 degrees in philadelphia the highest wind gusts in dover clocking in at 46, atlantic city 43 miles an hour, wilmington he 43 and then wrightstown wind gusts of 35 miles an hour but the core of those strong winds have now pushed off to our north and to our east so right now it's 16 miles an hour in philadelphia. much less than yesterday. 22 new york city. so, mainly those stronger winds are now over the open waters in the atlantic and just south of long island. as we look at storm tracker6 live double scan we have more energy down to the south you see the downpours and all these white lines are lightning strikes. this is going to be pushing back in from the south to the north wrapping in that low that is way to the west in the ohio valley so as this rotates in, we will see the intensity of the rain kick back up

meteorologists. >> ♪ >> we are following breaking news from philadelphia police. commissioner richard ross just released new information about a deadly police-involved shooting that happened wednesday night. the commissioner revealed that nine different officers fired a total of 109 rounds in front of two homes. 32-year-old christopher sowell was shot and killed. investigators believe he stabbed two children including his own eight-year-old son and tried to choke his teenaged daughter. commissioner ross says the responding officers had every reason to believe that sowell was armed with a gun when he reached into his pocket. however, police have not yet recovered a gun from the scene. they did find several weapons used to cut the victims. now given the number of shots that were fired at the suspect by police, ross said there may be "a significant training issue the department needs to

address". >> reasonable to believe that this may be a case of something called contagious gunfire otherwise known as synchronist fire. in a very volatile situation particularly with a number of officers present if there is one officer who reacts quicker than the rest and fires and this was in fact a very dangerous and volatile situation, based on what they knew, other officers hear that gunfire and they believe they are now under fire and that they return fire in this case firing multiple times as i said 109 rounds that we've counted thus far. >> the philadelphia police department is currently undergoing reality based training to prepare officers for volatile situations. all officers involved with the killing of that suspect will be interviewed. in the meantime, all of the victims injured in wednesday night's attack remain hospitalized. the commissioner ross said their conditions are

improving. >> well, a man tried to rob a bank in north philadelphia but he left empty handed. and now police are hoping to identify him. take a look at these surveillance photos of the suspect taken yesterday afternoon at the td bank on the 2200 block of east butler street. police say the man demanded money from the teller but fled the bank before he was given any cash. if you have any information you're asked to call philadelphia police. a crusade against domestic violence launched today in philadelphia. the women against abuse organization announced the ninth annual i pledge campaign. they're hoping to raise awareness and to help more victims to escape abusive situations. mayor jim kenney delivered the opening remarks. he said 19 murders were caused by domestic violence in the city last year alone. and he said everyone has a responsibility to look out for potential victims. >> volunteers slept out in the cold and rain overnight to experience what homeless children go through. local members of the real

[laughter] just do the traffic. >> good afternoon. by the moorestown mall unfortunately an accident looks like a pretty bad one on the westbound lanes of route 38. police are on the scene. westbound 38 shut down entirely by the moorestown mall because of that crash. some alternates for you. you could use 41 up top, even 295 which isn't too bad right there or stay on the other side of the turnpike on union mill road but 38 westbound not where you want to be this afternoon. we also had a crash on 70 westbound in cherry hill. luckily that is cleared out of the way. on 295 a little farther south in camden county near the black horse pike there's a crash taking out a lane. speeds just in the 20's as you head down toward the 42 freeway. and speeds have been not so hot here on 95 southbound. still heavy from penn's landing down to the girard point bridge as you head toward the airport.

and in milford right in the southern end of kent county there over 10-inches of rain the last two and a half or so days. temperature-wise only 50's to their north side and west, 60 trenton 65 in millville. mid 60's along the shore. we have another round of steady rain that is going to be pushing in from the south. you can see in it eastern parts of north carolina right now. the spin still near cincinnati. this low he is going to slowly meander back to the north here but it is going to take some time to break the clouds apart. so 11 o'clock tonight just some spotty showers mist and drizzle. early tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. that's when the next round of energy comes in with some heavier rainfall adding to those totals especially in southern delaware and southern new jersey and then tomorrow afternoon a lot of clouds still in play with some scattered showers around. and then as we get into sunday morning, still cloudy but by the afternoon on sunday notice the clouds are starting to break apart as that low finally lifts to the north.
