tracking down those responsible. it is monday night and the big story on "action news" is that federal investigation into a series of incidents that dates back to july. >> new at 5:00 "action news" anchor walter perez spoke to one of the victims. he's live outside the fbi's philadelphia office tonight with more. walter. >> reporter: hey, guys. fbi officials are hoping that someone will come forward about these cases before the armed thieves strike again. >> violated. upset. >> reporter: that's that's the owner of the springfield pharmacy in delaware county strike how she felt during the incident that unfolded in this surveillance video. it was a few weeks ago when two men armed with guns simply walked into the shop demanding prescription drugs and money. they got away with $1,300 cash and $50,000 worth of pharmaceuticals including xanax oxycodone and percocet. investigators say those drugs in that amount could have a street value topping a million

dollars. the owner who asked that we not reveal her identity says it was the most frightening and discouraging experience of her life. >> i work so hard four and half years of my life. the store is like my baby. >> reporter: the fbi believes that robbery is linked to two other similar robberies in our region that were also captured on surveillance video. investigators say it seems the same two men held up this rite-aid in claymont delaware back on july 8th. and these images capture the robbery at the health plus pharmacy in upper darby just three weeks ago. the own are of the springfield pharmacy says the good news is that there were no customers unside her store at the time. but she admits that despite upgrading her security system, she will likely feel vulnerable until these thieves are captured. >> i'm grateful that we're safe, we didn't get hurt physically but emotionally you can't reverse it. >> reporter: now to be clear

no injuries reported in any of these cases. also, investigators say there's actually a third person involved serving as the driver of the getaway car. anybody with information is asked to call the fbi offices in philadelphia. reporting live from center city, walter perez channel6 "action news." monica. >> thank you walter. philadelphia police say they now know one of the culprits lined a string of social media threats from so-called creepy clowns. it was a 13-year-old girl who says the whole thing was just a prank. the action cam was at neumann goretti high school this morning where police were taking this threat very seriously. an instagram account claimed that someone was going shoot all the kids and teachers there this morning. everyone is safe tonight. philadelphia police and the department of homeland security say they are investigating any accounts of making threats. "action news" has found at least three the dozen different accounts taking part in these clown threats. >> pennsylvania's i was auditor general lunged an

immediate audit philadelphia parking authority following allegations of sexual harassment within the agent z the ppa's executive director vince sen fenerty resigned. he's accused of sexually harassing two coworkers. the auditor general says he wants to investigate how the ppa handled sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace. he sales the audit will bring some much needed transparency to the agency. >> the ntsb says it could be days before investigators reach that sector data recorder in the wreckage of last week's deadly new jersey transit train crash. officials had located the first recorder from the train but the device was not functioning. now the focus of course is on that second recorder located in the cab control car at the front of the train. the car is trapped under the now collapsed section of the hoboken terminal roof. investigators are working 12-hour shifts sifting through the debris. last week's crash killed one person and injured more than 100 others. >> parts of the caribbean are

bracing for hurricane matthew as the season's strong of the storm yet continues to churn north. math through is expectd to hit jamaica tomorrow bringing more than 3 feet of rain along with it. officials have asked thousands of people to evacuate but many are refusing to leave their homes n haiti there are concerns about the thousands of people still living in tents. after a deadly. quake back in 2010. meteorologist cecily tynan is live at the big board with the late of the track of matthew and more on what's in store for our area. cecily. >> rick, it looks like haiti is really going to be getting the worst impact from this storm. the storm system is a beast. it became a cat five briefly friday night. it's still a cat four with maximum sustained winds 2140 miles per hour. that's windy haiti. the storm system right now is 225 miles south of port-au-prince moving very slowly due north at 7 miles per hour. and the latest track shows that this is almost going to be threading the needle between haiti and jamaica and cuba heading through the win

ward passage. what this means is that parts of haiti could get up to 40-inches of rain causing a lot of mudslides since it's very mountainous. it also means it's avoiding land as much as possible so as it moves through it will likely will still be a cat four until it heads into the bahamas thursday afternoon, dropping to a cat three right over nassau and the latest track is really shifted it to the west over the weekends this will come dangerously close to the carolina coast. the latest track actually also has it hitting as a cat two hurricane right on the border of north and south carolina. i'll have more he details on this storm and what it means for us over the weekend coming up with the full accuweather forecast. monica. >> thank you cecily. we are following developing news out of miami right now where eagles linebacker nigel bradham has been arrested for allegedly trying to carry a loaded gun through security at miami international airport. he told workers at a checkpoint that he forgot the gun was in his bag. bradham was carrying a concealed weapons permit at the time but he's now facing a misdemeanor weapons charge.

this comes five months after bradham was arrested in miami for allegedly attacking a hotel employee over an umbrella. he is now out on bond for that charge. >> reality television star kim kardashian west says she's badly shaken up but otherwise okay after she was targeted in an armed robbery he in paris. robbers made off with millions of dollars in july he re. tonight she's recovering in new york with her husband kanye west by her side. abc's donya bacchus has been following the story from los angeles and she's live with the latest on the investigation. donya. >> reporter: rick, the search is on for the five people french authorities say were dressed as police officers when they committed the robbery. the costumed thieves took the reality star's jewelry including her four and a half million dollar engagement ring and two of her smartphones. kim kardashian west back in the united states after being the victim of a violent robbery in paris. >> kim how you doing.

>> two people including an elderly woman reportedly dead three others injured after this landslide in china. the slides took down at least two homes in the northwest part of that country yesterday. the area had been drenched by torrential rains from a typhoon last week. of the three people hurt, two are in serious condition including a little five-year-old boy. the u.s. supreme court says it will not pick up an appeal by the washington redskins to keep the team's trademark protections. the u.s. patent and trademark office canceled six of the team's registrations citing a law forbidding disparaging trademarks in this case against native americans. however, the constitutionality of that trademark law will be heard by the high court in another case. and that ruling could affect the outcome of the washington team's case. >> all right. turning to health check tonight.

it is no secret kids are more likely to get the flu and spread it this season. that's one reason the cdc is recommending all kids over the age of six months get the vaccine. >> that doesn't always happen. seems some parents are more likely than others to skip it. ali gorman is here at the big board to explain. ali. >> only about 59 percent of kids have gotten the flu vaccine in recent years. a new survey finds kids whose parents take them for alternative therapies are less likely than others to get a flu shot. no one is saying there's anything wrong with alternative treatments such as massage or acupuncture but most agree these should be done along with traditional medicine. another reason some skip the vaccine is he they think it's not effective. now it does vary from year to year but on a good year, the vaccine can cut the risk of getting the flu by up to 60 percent. it's still one of the best prevention tools. also today, some doctors in brazil say microcephaly or abnormally small heads may be just the tip of the iceberg

when it comes to problems related to zika virus. they found some babies born with no signs of the problem might still develop it. some babies' brains stopped developing at five, six or seven months. now doctors in the u.s. say babies born to women infected with zika need to be followed closely but no one is certain for how long. and finally today when someone is diagnosed with diabetes, they often turn to the internet for information and there is some good advice there but there are also a lot of myths that are worthless and can even be harmful. one common myth is that eating gluten free prevents or cures diabetes. now, in fact gluten free foods can actually have more carbohydrates making it more difficult to control blood sugar. another myth is that green vegetables lower blood sure sugar. that are a part of a healthy diet but they won't control blood sugar on their own. also, buzz words like sugar free on packaged foods can be

sunshine. sky6 taking a look, this is live on cape may. notice some people actually on the beach at this hour enjoying the weather. blue skies and sunshine. we finally broke through the clouds. unfortunately the clouds will be kind of making a come back tonight and tomorrow but right now feels great. 73 in philadelphia partly sunny. wilmington 75. allentown 68. folks along the beach in cape may currently 71 degrees. satellite6 along with action radar showing we have high pressure right now sitting off the eastern seaboard and what this is doing it's breaking up the cloud cover but that high pressure will be bringing us an easterly flow overnight tonight and tomorrow. so, that will kind of back the clouds back in from the ocean and even bring us a little bit of patchy fog tonight. partly cloudy. overnight lows in the 50's. 56 in the suburbs, about 58 degrees for center city. so future tracker showing tomorrow morning lots of clouds, a few areas of some spotty drizzle possible. i don't see a lot of that happening. really the main problem will be the potential for some fog.

as we head through the day, not a washout, not completely cloudy. some breaks of sunshine. not quite as warm as today with a high near 70 degrees. in the meantime, really all eyes of the world on what's happening in the caribbean right now. hurricane matthew is dangerously close to haiti and haiti will be on the east side of this storm. so that means it gets the worst part of the hurricane. it gets the forward momentum. rainfall 15 to 25-inches, up to 40-inches in some areas and haiti has mountains on both sides so that will cause a big problem with kind of the funneling of water, potentially life-threatening flooding and mudslides and also that storm surge seven to 12 feet. it's still a cat four hurricane maximum sustained winds 140 miles per hour. it will continue slowly moving up to the north, moving through through the win ward passage and the latest track in the national hurricane center has made a big shift to the west.

a man's residence in trenton. because police say he made himself right at home. new jersey correspondent nora muchanic has the story tonight. >> some of the strangest things happening in the city now. >> reporter: contractor peter fields of trenton is surveying the broken door left behind by a nervy thief who broke into his edgewood avenue home saturday afternoon. >> when i go in the house he had smashed the alarm system off the wall and he was in the shower taking a shower. >> reporter: talk about making yourself at home. fields says the thief helped himself a body of whiskey while he was rifling through the house. >> i guess he was thirsty u fields crept upstairs while the shower was running careful not to tip off the intruder. >> i saw him, i watched him. i gave police the information while i was on the phone watching him making sure he didn't escape. >> reporter: fields thinks the thief may have been scoping his house and never expected him to be here at the time which explains why he felt comfortable enough to jump in the shower. >> he got some clothes

together, went and took some alcohol, will some alcohol and, you know, you would have thought he lived here. police arrived shortly after fields called 911 and put the cuffs on the guy in the buff in his shower. 28-year-old antoine whiting has been charged with burglary theft and criminal mischief. he's being held on $50,000 bail. >> once he smashed the alarm system i think he thought he was home he free and goon relax. >> reporter: perhaps a little too much. this thief desired to clean up before he cleaned out the house landed hum in jail. in trenton, i'm nora muchanic channel6 "action news. >> a plan remains in critical condition tonight after he was shot in north philadelphia this morning. chopper6 hd over the scene here in the 3700 block of north park avenue at 11:00 a.m. meals say the 41-year-old was hit in the stomach and back. he was rushed to temple university hospital for treatment. it's not clear yet who shot him or why. philadelphia police and the fbi hope you recognize the bank robber in this photo.

quick little shower over the last hour to 45 minutes. temperature-wise we moved back up from the weekend. we are back into the 70's for the majority of the area. we did hit that 76 in philadelphia today, 73 right now, 75 wilmington, 73 he in dover. up are 60's for the lehigh valley and low to mid 60's up in the poconos. weak boundary from the north. you can see scattered showers just colder air aloft destabilizing the atmosphere. once the sun sets these showers will fall apart so not a problem for overnight but one thing that will redevelop is some of that patchy fog. many of us woke up with the fog mist and drizzle. could happen late tonight early tomorrow morning once again with temperatures overall not much of a difference from the suburbs to the city in the mid and the up are 50's. high pressure is over eastern parts of new england and it's going to stay there. it's going to park itself through much of the week meaning a wind flow coming in more out of the north-northeast so it's a little more seasonable, much cooler than today, tomorrow at

70 degrees so fog in the morning breaking for some sunshine. as we get into wednesday, not much changes in the atmosphere. morning clouds with some returning sun in the afternoon on wednesday an high temperature of 72. but one thing that this high we have to watch again it's parking itself here. the question is where does this high move because this strong high is going to be a player in matthew's track late in the week into the upcoming weekend. at the same time we have a cold front coming in from the west called a trough. that also may try to hug matthew on the coast so matthew has got to squeeze itself between these two systems that aren't going to move all that much and depending on where they're positiond is where matthew could move up the eastern seaboard. right now still a category four hurricane winds sustained at 140 miles an hour. you can clearly see that definitive eye. here's jamaica and hematoma it will move closer to haiti than jamaica as we go into the overnight hours early on tuesday. then it's going to curve to the north and west just off of

miami he's -- miami's coastline. down to a three winds sustained at 120 miles an hour. the latest track it was further to the east earlier today. it has now been pushed a little bit to the west near a category two status by saturday afternoon off the coast of north and south carolina. more than likely trying to make landfall somewhere in north carolina at the beginning of the weekend. thereafter north of the carolinas all bets are off. this far out as to where it could move either out to sea or continue its journey up the cost but right now the time frame saturday through monday it will bring rough surf and dangerous rip currents for the holiday weekends down the shore. the unknowns the track past the carolinas and the exact timing it passes by this far north given that it is close to six days away. that's something we'll continue to follow. the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast 70 degrees morning fog some peeks of sun tomorrow afternoon. 72 partly sunny on wednesday
