victory. more on the stories in a moment, but first let's check the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast with meteorologist chris sowers at least the rain stopped, right, chris. >> reporter: now it's freezing out here nydia. good afternoon to you, the rain has shut off. it's raining across portions of south jersey and delaware. that line has cleared the city of philadelphia. now the winds are starting to pick up, temperatures are struggling only seeing numbers in the low 50s, so it is very, very chilly on this sunday afternoon. double scan live you can see the rain line cutting from browns mills in burlington county straight down to the south through vineland and millville and sussex county new jersey him all areas east of there, with light rain, all areas to the west clearing. overcast conditions hanging on, but at least the rain has stopped. the remnants of the hurricane matthew continue to work out to sea, all this left at this point a lot of cloud cover, a lot of clouds over top of the skyline

nydia, police tell us this 20-year-old was shot in front of his mother. a horrific thing what has happened. i spoke to neighbors who said they are not surprised it happened him they described the neighborhood as a war zone. we know after 2:00 a.m., suspects barged into the home on 3rd street they shot and killed the 20-year-old in front of his mother. unbelievable. a motive is unknown. we're hearing the victim was a really nice part of the community that he was trying to make it better giving haircuts to those who couldn't afford them out of his home where he lived with his mom and step dad, the neighbor said this happens all the time. >> it's bad around here, man, as far as killing and stuff and guns real bad. boyds that, the drugs, i mean, there ain't much for our kids, keep a close eye on them, keep them in sports and keep them out of trouble and go to school.

>> back out here live, that's the home where this happened, just a few minutes ago family showed up, they are distraught, they did not wish to speak with us at this point. no word of any suspects, chester police need help with this one, if you know anything give them a call. reporting live in chester, bob brooks, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. a south jersey firefighter is in good condition this noon after being hurt battling a blaze in gloucester township early this morning. the call went out at 3:00 a.m. in the 1,000 block of oakwood avenue. crews brought it under control in a half-hour. a firefighter suffered heat exhaustion and taken to kennedy hospital in washington township. there were no other injuries. donald i know you live in your own reality, but that is not the fact. >> but you have no plan. >> that was round one. tonight it's the second presidential debate with the

election just a month away. it's a town hall style meeting with republican donald trump there to face questions about his lewd remarks about women caught on tape and hillary clinton is there to face questions about supporting free trade and other policy she owe e now opposes. dozens of republicans have dropped support for trump, rob portman said he is voting for mike pence for president. you can catch all the fireworks of the second debate at 6abc, it's co-moderated by abc's martha raddatz at 9:00 p.m. if you have not registered to vote, time is running out. tuesday is the deadline in pennsylvania. in delaware it's october 15. in new jersey, it's the last day is october 18. >> hurricane matthew has been downgraded and slowly making its exit off the east coast, but its impact may be felt for months in

them north carolina a foot of rain caused flooding 100 miles inland. there were water rescues and more than 2 million people are without power and can be in the dark for a week or more. at least 15 people in the u.s. have lost their lives to matthew so far. in haiti, at least 900 are believed dead. officials fear cholera could become a danger, too. in north myrtle beach, south carolina some people won't have homes to return to. fire leveledded an apartment complex in terry grove section overnight. firefighters couldn't get to the blaze that jumped from rooftop to rooftop. residence in fayetteville, north carolina are grateful to new york's finest. task force team one rescued three people from on top of their suv caught by flash

in palm springs california accused of killing two police officers and wounding a third. the officers were trying to resolve a family substitute -- dispute when police say the man pulled out a gun and fired. one officer was a 35 year veteran due to retire while the other returned from maternity leave. the third officer is hospitalized. 30 people are going to be okay after their boat capsized they had to be rescued from the cold waters of the san francisco bay. 27 adults and 3 children were on board. a 5-year-old boy who was not breathing when he was pulled out was revived and will survive. witnesses say nobody was wearing life jackets. >> time to turn to accuweather, you're shivering out there.

of rain between river view and harrington. temperatures are on the chilly side. the winds are whipping around. we have gusts as high as 45 miles per hour. reading, 57. wilmington, 56. millville, 51. same thing with trenton, philadelphia, 54. cape may, 53. atlantic city, 52. add on top of that 32-mile gust in dover. 30 in atlantic city. 30 in millville. upper 20s to the northwest. note the wind direction you see the arrows it's a northwest breeze it will dry everything out, it will act as a blow drier and dry the roads and all the puddles up. later this afternoon increase in sunshine and drier conditions. wind advisory remains in effect until 6:00 p.m. could be as high as 45 miles per hour on along the shore and interior sections of atlantic and cumberland county all in the tail end of what was once hurricane matthew. the center is right there, a

couple of hundred miles off the coast now. cape hatteras, north carolina. the rain shield lifted and got caught up in the trough of the front that was approaching from the west and lifted to the north. not what we were expecting, we picked up one to four inches of rain. a lot of 3 and 4 inches were down here, kent and sussex counties delaware, and cape may county. north and west, they saw maybe .1 of an inch. later this afternoon, brighter skies, far western suburbs. sun and clouds philadelphia. everything clears out overnight tonight that will allow temperatures to plummet. 39 in reading, 41 in allentown. 44 for philadelphia. tomorrow afternoon, very fall like, sunshine out there, 62 for philadelphia. upper 50s, north and west, low 60s south and east. tomorrow night into tuesday morning, this will be the

and so when i saw that, that was completely disqualifying. i'm a republican, but this election is so much bigger than party. my son max can't live in trump world. so i'm crossing party lines and voting for hillary. i don't always agree with her, but she's reasonable. and she's smart. she can work with people to solve problems. i want to be able to tell my kids that i did the right thing when it really mattered. i'm hillary clinton and i approve this message.
