well, a sad story at multiple levels. one family which was responding to an emergency situation has lost a 19-year-old son. another family has lost a 16-year-old daughter. police say the driver of this car rushing to temple hospital to see his father who had been assaulted during a rob he re. the car ran the stop signal at front street and collided with this suv. this driver was behind the car saying it also ran a signal at rising sun. >> he was going too fast. trying the run the light probably about 70's miles an hourism sterling scott heard the crash helped the driver then focused on the passengers. >> two people that were in there, one guy kind of moved around. then he slumped back over and they were saying it was a baby in the car but it wasn't a baby it was a young teenage are under him and nobody could see. >> reporter: the front passenger later died. identified as 19-year-old osman zeylnov the brother of the driver. the young teen dead at the scene 16-year-old maggie goloff three close friends

children with special needs. the 17-year-old died after a struggle with staffers at wordsworth academy. meals say staffers approached the teen about a stolen ipad after reportedly discovering the device in his room. the teenager became upset and three staff members tried to subdue him. one placed him in a headlock. police have not ruled this as a homicide. the medical examiner will now determine whether the teen had any preexisting conditions. >> hurricane nicole has gone out to sea after blasting bermuda with high winds and pounding rain. the center of the eye just missed the island by a few miles. wind gusts of 104 miles per hour were recorded knocking down trees and power lines. 90 percent of the island lost power but most of the homes and other businesses are still standing tonight. in north carolina thousands are being urged to evacuate because of scenes like this. the rain from hurricane matthew caused catastrophic flooding across the state leaving at least 22 people dead. many more still missing. major roads remain closed to

traffic including i-95. the estimated cost from all of this damage so far, $18 billion. and it's not over yet. many rivers are expected to crest this weekend so crews will continue working to shore up dams in that area. meantime around here it was a perfect fall day. a little crisp but bright blue skies outside. as we take a look from sky6 over center city, for your friday evening and as you can see it's going to be a pleasant night. meteorologist cecily tynan enjoying it outside and she has a check of the forecast. might need a jacket or a coat this evening though, cecily. >> exactly. there's a little bit of a chill in the air now and once the sun sets, temperatures will really going fall. right now philadelphia is 63 degrees. we hit 65 degrees earlier. syracuse is only 56. burlington is only 53 degrees. we have high pressure in control of our weather and what that's doing is bringing us loads of sunshine. satellite6 along with action radar is showing nothing more than a few high thin cirrus clouds moving in from the west. so, tonight if you're heading

the strike authorization vote by members of the transport worker union local 234 is set for sunday morning. their current contract expires at the end of the movement negotiations between the twu and septa have been ongoing but the two sides are still at odds over pension reform and healthcare. if the 5700 transit workers go on strike november 1st, there's concern the strike could last through election day november 8th. >> ♪ >> all right, presidential politics tonight. donald trump is on the attack against his accusers against his opponent and against the media. during a rally in north carolina he addressed the latest reports of alleged sexual harassment and groping even though he admitted his campaign staff wants him to ignore it. trump says these women stories are lies and smears 100 percent made up. part of a coordinated conspiracy between hillary clinton a mexican billionaire and the media to keep him out of office. trump calls some of the accusers fame seekers and others he implied he would not

have touched because he doesn't find them physically attractive. meanwhile hillary clinton is fundraising in seattle right now but her most prominent surrogate went to bat for her today. president barack obama told voters at a rally in cleveland there the election is not rigged and warned that trump is the real threat to democracy. obama also said you don't have to be a husband or father to disagree with trump's comments about women. he says you just have to be a decent human being. a new batch of wikileaks e-mails shows hillary campaign supporters and aides asked bill clinton to cancel a planned speech to wall street bankers for appearances sake. we'll have much more on that in vote 2016 coming up tonight at 5:30. >> today marked a new beginning for seniors at crystal ray high school in the city's logan section. they learned they have been accepted to college and got an acceptance letter on the spot. repeated all over the crystal ray high school in logan today as dozens of seniors were admitted to local colleges and universities. ranging from rosemont to cabrini to chestnut hill. this after brief interviews and looks at actor scores and academic transcripts. this is the second year this catholic charter school had this program in cooperation with schools like newman and immaculata university. >> it's a plus there i got in. >> reporter: what are you planning on majoring in. >> pre-med. trying to go to med school and become a gynecologist. >> i'm actually getting in three college scholarships. >> reporter: mr. callan has been admitted to rosemont college. that's where kelly is a freshman. he was chosen in the same program last fall. >> i definitely understand the excitement here. it's like a whole thrill, like you want to get excited knowing the fact that you actually have a opportunity to change your life done something with your life and all the goals and the purpose

it's got something for everyone. if you like fall, we have a gorgeous fall weekend ahead. right now a little bit of a chill in the air. philadelphia 63. allentown 64. wilmington 62 and cape may 60 and satellite6 along with action radar showing there's high pressure up to the north. so, what that is doing, it's really squeezing out all of the moisture from the atmosphere so that's why we had all of the sunshine and that's why it's going to be a chilly night. clear skies tonight, a moonlit night, almost a full moon. the full moon is on sunday night. some frost though in the suburbs. i don't of night lows dropping down into the mid 30's in the northwest suburb, also interior south jersey. these are the areas we could have some patchy frost. philadelphia down to 44 degrees. and future tracker showing after a chilly start to the day, by 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, with mostly sunny skies, it will be seasonable. 67 degrees in philadelphia. that's the normal high for this time of the year but then heading into sunday, it gets even warmer. we'll see some high thin clouds building in late in the day. temperatures up into the 70's

and i think the clouds should be thin enough that we actually will have a good shot of the rocket launch from wallops island just west of chincoteague and this is to get supplies to the international space station. it sets off at 8:he 03. look low at the horizon to the southeast and looks like in about two minutes you see this dome here. that's when it should be visible in our area so head out shortly around 8 o'clock shortly after 8:00 you should he see the rocket launch always a great sight. so, the five day at 5::showing tomorrow chilly in the morning. seasonable by the afternoon with a high of 67. sunday 83 degrees and look at this, monday, tuesday, wednesday, hello summer, it's coming back for a visit. monday 80. tuesday 83. wednesday the record high 85. looks like we'll shatter that with a high of 85 degrees but then temperatures trend down. adam will talk about that in the accuweather 7-day forecast. i play have to open up my pool

charges for crimes from our new jersey bureau station onax wixler was moon walking up leave. speaking to wixler police say they found an active warrant out for his arrest. they also say they found him in possession of heroin. wixler is now being held in the ocean county jail. >> a driver he remains in critical condition tonight after an early morning crash in bear, delaware. it happened at the intersection of red lion road and bare corbett road about midnight. police say a plan in his 70's was speeding when he lost control. the vehicle hit a utility pole rolled over several times and ended up against a house. it's still not clear what caused the man to lose control. a propane leak at a home in east brandywine township chester county injured one person this afternoon. it happened here on ricoh circle about 10:00 a.m.

still though you're looking at speeds more like in the low 20's i would say from penn's landing up to this point at cottman avenue and coming up tonight they are shifting northbound traffic onto some of the new pavement so hopefully by the time next week comes around, northbound delays in the afternoons won't be quite as bad but only time will tell. headed southbound on 95 in the delco speeds just in the teens there because of a couple of earlier problems down around the blue route. we've got a big crash out in montgomery county along ridge pike at trooper road there by the burger king. jams on both of those. you might want to stay up on germantown get around that messy accident scene. this is route one, the not so super highway in bucks county. southbound side still stacked solid coming away from langhorne above an earlier crash around pendel. luckily that just cleared as has our crash on 495 in wilmington. southbound all lanes reopened. at this point speeds are in the 20's on both 495 and 95 so take your pick, pick your poison kind of the same way in either direction you go. in pennsville crash, closing

>> in the pan small coastal community was rocked by a tornado this morning leaving behind quite a bit of damage. happened in the town of manza nada. several buildings were demolished along with downed trees and power lines. no word of any injuries. this was only the second tornado to hit the state of oregon this year. >> we are in store for a beautiful weekend. a lot of fall festivals and things going on. perfect. >> everything happens like a seesaw in the u.s. when it's stormy bad weather in the west it's usually nice and beautiful in the east. that's going to be the case as we go through the upcoming weekend. as we look at double scan live radar really not much to show you here. a lot of blue skies high clouds streaming in the late in the day especially south and west of philadelphia. with all of that sunshine, temperatures did struggle a

bit to get to normal today and it's because of that cool air that moved in so there was a decent little slug of atmospheric cooling so to speak despite that full sun there temperatures could only get into the lower to mid 60's today. we're still sitting there across much of the area. the poconos at 57 and these numbers are going to drop quickly here once the sun sets. in fact, we're going to have a clear sky. it's almost a full moon. it will be very chilly, 34 degrees in those northwestern suburbs of philadelphia, even the pine barrens in new jersey, 44 degrees for center city itself. and with a very light wind between two and 4 miles an hour and a clear sky, it's a recipe for frost to develop and there is an advisory in place for areas north and west of some pennsylvania turnpike between 1:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on saturday morning and as you can see pretty much the entire viewing area with the exception of mercer county around trenton in new jersey here as well with the exception of the coastline where those temperatures will drop to near or just above the

freezing point. high pressure coming in and there's some of the high clouds down to the south but again, these high clouds will continue to fall apart here during evening hours. so, great weather heading to some of the high school football games this evening but bundle up 'cause again, those temperatures drop quick. tomorrow mostly sunny after a chilly start, a milder afternoon, 66 in allentown, 67 philadelphia. mid 60's southern new jersey and delaware and that includes the shore line. the eagles they're not home this weekend but they're away 1:00 p.m. on sunday at the redskins just down 95. kickoff temperature there 68 degrees if you're making the trek. a very light southwesterly wind and equally as nice, 72 degrees by the fourth quarter. and again, talking about that seesaw effect across the united states, the jet stream dipping south of san francisco near los angeles so the pacific northwest seeing cool and stormy not only this weekend but going into monday, tuesday and wednesday of next week. so, when the jet stream goes

down, it must return and go back up somewhere and that's along the eastern seaboard so with high pressure building down to the south and east with a southwesterly wind so monday through wednesday we're really going warm it to more summer like levels around here and even some record breaking numbers. the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, 60's tomorrow but then that is it for six more days. we go to the 70's on sunday. 80 here on monday. some clouds in the morning on monday, maybe a shower as a front is progressing through that will usher in that warmth and then that surge of truly summer-like air arrives tuesday at 83 degrees, record shattering here on wednesday, 85. we do drop a bit thursday but that's still close to 10 degrees above normal and some clouds with the next system on friday, maybe a couple of showers at 68 degrees. so, a perfect weekend no matter what kind of outdoor activities you're doing. >> all right. >> thank you so much. >> thanks adam. >> and now to an absolutely heart stopping video, a

frightening encounter way diver and a great white shark. take a look at an otherwise routine cage diving adventure turned terrifying when this shark rammed its way through the cage with the diver in there. the diver fortunately escaped unharmed. can you imagine. we are told this rarely happens but it is easy to explain why it did happen. sharks really can't see when they open their mouth to feed and they cannot swim in reverse. so, when this one went for some bait on a rope it just powered its way straight in.
