the morning. that would be terrible. >> walking probably. like 30 blocks. far. >> i'm very dependent on septa. take it every morning to center city. >> reporter: local workers union 234 and septa have to the end of the month before the current contract expires days before the election day. it's over wages, pension, and health care. the vote in favor of a strike was unanimous today. if employees make good, it would be the tenth strike in the septa 50 year history, the most of any transit in the country. it was weeks after the agency was forced to pull a third of the rail fleet out of service. in a statement today septa says in part we hope the union does not exercises it right to strike, we are focusing on reaching a new agreement that's in the best interest of our riders, employees and stakeholders. caught in the middle and hoping

city's oxford circle section. around 8:30 near the intersection of caster in the circle section. everyone is expected to be okay. the crash is under investigation. a cab ride turned violent in west philadelphia when a passenger slashed the driver multiple times before dashing away. it happened at 58th and vine in broad daylight. that's where we find action news reporter christie ileto with the full details. christie. >> reporter: sarah, the stabbing happened not far from here inside the cab. reportedly the suspect darted from the vehicle. the driver tried to chase him before crashing here in front of these homes. >> i heard a loud boom. >> reporter: this woman didn't want her face on camera. but told action news she had no idea the accidents was part of an attempted robbery. >> the victim is in a cab. >> reporter: the victim is a

35-year-old cab driver for all threes luxury sedan and car company. he was stabbed six times in the shoulder before crashing. >> i didn't know what was going on. i thought it was an accident. and then someone said that the guy was stabbed and he -- i guess he was chasing. >> reporter: the knife suspect reportedly fled on foot after the stabbing. the victim tried to chase him but crashed. it's unclear if the two knew one another. >> a lot of accidents happen at this corner. so it didn't bother me until, you know, i find out someone was stabbed. so that was kind of creepy. >> reporter: now, the driver was take ton an area hospital. he's listed in stable condition. we contacted his employer, but they chose not to comment at this time. the suspect was wearing dark colored clothing last seen on vine hiding to 68th. contact detectives if you have any information. christie ileto channel 6 action

news. >> thank you. police are searching for two suspects in connection with a home invasion and shooting in ridley park this afternoon. the shooting happened near the intersection of ward and harrison streets. investigators say two men entered the home and opened fire on the homeowner inside. the suspects escaped. the victim has only minor injuries. police are still searching for those two men. homecoming festivities at lincoln university marred by an overnight shooting on campus that injured a security guard. police say several people were involved in some kind of a misunderstanding and someone pulled out a gun and fired several shots right there in lower oxford township, chester county. one of the bullets hit a van that was carrying employees of a private security firm hired for homecoming weekend. a female office was taken to the hospital. no word on her condition and no arrests have been made. investigators in philadelphia are concerned that an arsonist is on the loose in
