there right now? >> reporter: jim, good evening. it has been a long day for crews out here. a big mistake by somebody was made today. a dump truck driver got his bed tangled in the wires you see lined me. accidents do happen but the good news is you can see they've all been lifted off the turnpike here. it is really just a matter of time of rewiring things before traffic can reopen. the driver of this dump truck probably isn't feeling too good right now. he left a bed up at a turnpike construction site in bristol township ripped the power lines down to the road splitting the power line pole in three sections. traffic both ways in bucks county haveeen shut down all day. we caught up with tom who couldn't have had this happen on a worse day. >> we are leaving west chester pennsylvania trying to go to west chester new york for my father's funeral. >> reporter: that's right he was trying to get to his father's funeral. because of the closure it didn't look good.

>> we'll never make itism this morning traffic was backed up as far as the eye could see. chopper6 gave us view. no question accidents happen but tom says bad information from the turnpike commission compounded the problem. >> they told us to get off come down street road come up route 15 and get back going east. we get to east and we can't get back on. >> reporter: he's not the only one who says that. >> we were coming south and it was all signs saying alternate routes but it didn't say where you were going get offism officials confirmed at first the delaware valley interchange was supposed to be opened for eastbound commuters to get back on the turnpike but it was closed for safety issues and that message never got back to turnpike headquarters. that's why all afternoon drivers like tom became lost. a lot of truck drivers did too in their big rigs. driving is money. >> the wheels don't turn we don't earn. >> reporter: we spotted big rigs scrambling to get back on schedule. this is a mess for you hm. >> it is, it is. >> reporter: certainly been an inconvenience for so many people.

>> reporter: two fifth graders from the warner elementary school are heading towards expulsion in the wake of a shooting incident yesterday morning inside this restroom at the school that saw 25th graders wounded by shots from a pellet gun one grazed in the neck the other in the thumb. >> students were taken to the nurse yesterday and the students are fine. they are doing well. >> reporter: one student apparently brought the gun to school but it was being handled by the boy who is accused now of firing the shots. the parents of both have denied any knowledge of where the gun came from. >> it's a very touchy subject. no one wants to own up to it. the one who played around and the one who was in possession both have consequences. >> reporter: the parents of all 450 students have been notified about yesterday's frightening incident. >> parents need to really take a look and check on their children. these parents know which kids are problem kids or troubled kids and a lot of parents to be honest are just strung out on street drugs and don't care. >> reporter: a brutal
