are some issues of tentative agreement. but there is still significant disagreements issues that have to be resolved. >> since before the walkout. negotiations are based here at the sheridan hotel. beginning last evening and continuing until early this morning. there is meaningful give and take through the deadlocked sides, the union closely examined a septa proposal. the union wants meaningful pension reform and septa says the union members have to pay more for their health plan and the rank and file want more operator schedule changes because it can lead to driver fatigue and longer bathroom breaks than previously scheduled. a number of politicians are monitoring the talks. among them is johnson. >> on the labor side we know we

have workers that they need addressed but ultimately we want to make sure that next tuesday on november 8th we have a transportation system that is up and running to move the city forward on election day. >> that election day concern on many political minds, the thinking is if they face a longer commute in the a.m. and p.m., they will have a shortened window of opportunities to get to the polls before or after they go to work. back to negotiation, the sense here is that there has been progress today and in the last 24 hours, the two sides continue to communicate. >> all right some movement is better than none. the strike is making an already tough commute even more unbearable. matt pellman in the traffic center to help us navigate the mess. >> it sure has been a mess. we are in day two without our

septa city buses that is 79 routes without the market and broad street subways and six of our trolleys are halted as the strike continues. people are taking to the regional rails and a less than pleasant day on them. the west hill west and fox chase lines, half hour delays on those two lines, they are toughly impacted the last couple of days. otherwise on other lines delays of around 120 minutes in spots this afternoon. and of course a lot of people that have cars are pulling them out of the garage and hitting the streets. the city streets are gridlocked one again this afternoon as we look live at senter city this is vine at broad. and yesterday we saw it spill back on to the vine street expressway and back on to the ben franklin bridge, this afternoon the westbound delay on the vine is starting towards broad street. we'll see what happens as the

afternoon progresses. in northeast philadelphia this is 95 sluggish northbound by cotman in the work zone. and on 495 in delaware a crash southbound past 12th street and the right lane is out of commission. and crossing in pilesgrove route 40 is blockd this afternoon because of a crash and downed poll. feather bed lane is a possible alternate there. let grab the ipad and do do the commuter report on this hump day afternoon. we are watching a crash on academy road giving us congestion in the area by the lukoil station as well. we'll check it again coming up in the 4:30 after hour. >> we don't know when the strike will end but we know when the work week will end. at least one business is benefiting uber says that saled soared yesterday. the ride sharing company expanded their rider pool option to help people get around the

been shot on reed and south franklin street. the victim was taken to the hospital and his condition is not known. and newcastle county police arrested a man for a shooting in broad daylight. michael burnett is charged with shooting a 43-year-old man monday afternoon in newcastle. fortunately the victim here did survive. we have new surveillance video of a theft underway at a philadelphia business. investigators are hoping to identify this man who got away with thousands of dollars worth of tools and paint guns from fillmont auto body in olney. he broke through a locked gate early friday morning and if you have physician on who this guy is, philadelphia police want to hear from you. well, because of that strike we are detailing many of you will sit in your cars this afternoon but maybe a good afternoon to open up the windows. >> open up the sun roof and just

lets talk about what is running, the regional rails but not so well. delays across the rails, a lot of them 15 to 25 minutes, the chestnut hill west and fox chase lines all the trains on those lines experiencing up to half hour delays. once again this afternoon it's a slow ride home on the regional rails and again if you board in center city you have to have the tickets they'll check the tickets before you go down to the platform and the lines at the platforms are astronomical this afternoon. on the big picture a lot of extra traffic in center city because of the septa strike and a demonstration at 17th and market and no parking on broad street and south the meters are out of commission because of the septa strike. and a crash in delco at chester pike at ridley avenue and one in torresdale, with the waze app. and one at academy.
