are some issues of tentative agreement. but there is still significant disagreements issues that have to be resolved. >> since before the walkout. negotiations are based here at the sheridan hotel. beginning last evening and continuing until early this morning. there is meaningful give and take through the deadlocked sides, the union closely examined a septa proposal. the union wants meaningful pension reform and septa says the union members have to pay more for their health plan and the rank and file want more operator schedule changes because it can lead to driver fatigue and longer bathroom breaks than previously scheduled. a number of politicians are monitoring the talks. among them is johnson. >> on the labor side we know we

have workers that they need addressed but ultimately we want to make sure that next tuesday on november 8th we have a transportation system that is up and running to move the city forward on election day. >> that election day concern on many political minds, the thinking is if they face a longer commute in the a.m. and p.m., they will have a shortened window of opportunities to get to the polls before or after they go to work. back to negotiation, the sense here is that there has been progress today and in the last 24 hours, the two sides continue to communicate. >> all right some movement is better than none. the strike is making an already tough commute even more unbearable. matt pellman in the traffic center to help us navigate the mess. >> it sure has been a mess. we are in day two without our

septa city buses that is 79 routes without the market and broad street subways and six of our trolleys are halted as the strike continues. people are taking to the regional rails and a less than pleasant day on them. the west hill west and fox chase lines, half hour delays on those two lines, they are toughly impacted the last couple of days. otherwise on other lines delays of around 120 minutes in spots this afternoon. and of course a lot of people that have cars are pulling them out of the garage and hitting the streets. the city streets are gridlocked one again this afternoon as we look live at senter city this is vine at broad. and yesterday we saw it spill back on to the vine street expressway and back on to the ben franklin bridge, this afternoon the westbound delay on the vine is starting towards broad street. we'll see what happens as the

afternoon progresses. in northeast philadelphia this is 95 sluggish northbound by cotman in the work zone. and on 495 in delaware a crash southbound past 12th street and the right lane is out of commission. and crossing in pilesgrove route 40 is blockd this afternoon because of a crash and downed poll. feather bed lane is a possible alternate there. let grab the ipad and do do the commuter report on this hump day afternoon. we are watching a crash on academy road giving us congestion in the area by the lukoil station as well. we'll check it again coming up in the 4:30 after hour. >> we don't know when the strike will end but we know when the work week will end. at least one business is benefiting uber says that saled soared yesterday. the ride sharing company expanded their rider pool option to help people get around the

and thebility of his accusers. >> two full days of hearings on pretrial maneuvers by bill cosby's lawyers are wrapping up at this hour. no rulings are expected at this point but the legal wrangling is fierce in the courtroom. bill cosby and his legal team is back in cord again with multiple attacks on the montgomery county da sex assault against him. the defense wants to suppress his decades old testimony from a civil suit. andrea constand prevailed on the civil suit claiming the comedian molested her in his home in '04. and former d.a. promised he would not use it to prosecute. and he testified he did make

that agreement and kevin steel vowed to bring charges and have that explosive deposition unsealed by the court and use it in cosby's criminal trial that is why the cosby team wants to block its use as evidence. >> this is vitally important to what happens in the days to come and we are confident that the judge will carefully andalize the issues, important issues in this case and throughout pennsylvania and throughout the united states. in mid-december two more days of hearings are set. judge steven o'neil will hear arguments why a dozen more cosby defendants should be banned from testifying. gloria allred represents many of them. >> i think the court is being extremely patient with the defense. and really wanted to know what

vice president joe biden hit the campaign trail for her earlier today as part of a big push in florida. he encouraged the crowd in tampa to get out and vote. both campaigns consider the sunshine state as a key to being victorious and the president is on the trail as well. the president wrapped up a rally stressing the importance of this election as he talked to the crowd at the university of north carolina. >> donald trump is barnstorming the trump in florida telling them to pretend why they are losing. and one of three scheduled stops in the sunshine state today. polls show a very tight race but mr. trump urged those that back him not to get complacent. florida is a must win state for trump. mr. trump's daughter tiffany campaigned in pennsylvania today.

y25pmy yi0y a man suspects of shooting and killing two police officers in des moines, iowa, is now in custody. officials say that scott michael green ambushed the officers while they were sitting in their patrol car early this morning. it was last week that green argued with officers after being kicked out of a high school football game for displaying a confederate flag. but no motive has been announced. 15 guns are taken off the streetses of southeast philadelphia along with 27 suspected criminals and 28,000 worth of drugs that they say the

weekend when out with friends in delaware county. sara bloomquist is there this afternoon. you just talked to the grieving mother. >> reporter: i did brian. just a moment ago. 17-year-old tamir germany's mother came here hoping to get answers about her son's death. he was here in chester over the weekend visiting with friends and then found shot to death in the woods saturday night. >> for this unfortunate event to happen to us in this young man's life. it's hard. >> she wants to know who killed her 17-year-old son, tamir germany, the wilmington resident is driving around chester and hounding detectives hoping for answers about the killing. late saturday someone passing through the woods near 11th and palmer came across tamir's lifeless body shot once in the torso and died alone on a path

in the dark. >> he was alone in a car with some guys and led to that area. taken through the woods and assassinated. >> tamir was a senior at dupont high school in greenville, delaware, the superintendant sent a letter home saying a young life was taken too soon. echoing the superintendant she said her son was athletic and well liked and not a trouble maker, she wishes chester police was more forthcoming about what they know about tamir's death. >> i could be angry, i cried. i cried enough. i want answers to no avail to the chester police department they are helping in no kind of way. >> we tried but could not get through to anybody at the chester police department to give us additional details and the progress on this investigation, this is the second incident of gun violence that impacted the ai dupont

community in just the past few weeks a recent graduate was shot in newcastle county, he remains in critical condition. i'm sara bloomquist, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. well, it is day two of the septa workers strike and while there are signs of progress for a new contract no deal has been made. buses, trolleys and subways that provide about 900,000 ride a day remain shut down. septa had to get a court order to get workers from blocking regional train crews from getting to work and that caused a significant delay on those lines last night. we'll follow the strike and bring you another live update in the next half hour and any breaking developments will be on our website 6abc.com. a man in his 20s was found shot in both of his legs in wilmington this afternoon. this was the 1700 block of chestnut street at 1:00. police say this is where the victim was found but may have

been shot on reed and south franklin street. the victim was taken to the hospital and his condition is not known. and newcastle county police arrested a man for a shooting in broad daylight. michael burnett is charged with shooting a 43-year-old man monday afternoon in newcastle. fortunately the victim here did survive. we have new surveillance video of a theft underway at a philadelphia business. investigators are hoping to identify this man who got away with thousands of dollars worth of tools and paint guns from fillmont auto body in olney. he broke through a locked gate early friday morning and if you have physician on who this guy is, philadelphia police want to hear from you. well, because of that strike we are detailing many of you will sit in your cars this afternoon but maybe a good afternoon to open up the windows. >> open up the sun roof and just

lets talk about what is running, the regional rails but not so well. delays across the rails, a lot of them 15 to 25 minutes, the chestnut hill west and fox chase lines all the trains on those lines experiencing up to half hour delays. once again this afternoon it's a slow ride home on the regional rails and again if you board in center city you have to have the tickets they'll check the tickets before you go down to the platform and the lines at the platforms are astronomical this afternoon. on the big picture a lot of extra traffic in center city because of the septa strike and a demonstration at 17th and market and no parking on broad street and south the meters are out of commission because of the septa strike. and a crash in delco at chester pike at ridley avenue and one in torresdale, with the waze app. and one at academy.
