good afternoon sara bloomquist is off. we begin with breaking news out of new jersey. a federal jury announced the verdict in the bridge gate trial. both defendants are guilty on all counts. two allies of chris christie, were both convicted in a politically motivated plot to cause traffic around the george washington bridge. trying to punish a democratic mayor for not endorsing governor christie. the defendants will learn their sentences in february. governor christie denied all wrong doing. we are following the investigation into a house fire that left two small children in critical condition in the olney section of philadelphia. gray hall is live at the scene with updates on the young victims.

>> reporter: rick, the last information from the fire commissioner where the kids were in critical condition but improving. so the extent of their injuries at this point is not clear, we tell that you people in this neighborhood are hoping for a speedy recovery. an overnight nightmare for the family living in this olney home, initial reports say two children a 7-month-old and 11-year-old were rushed to the hospital. >> it's always a tragedy when something happens to anybody but especially to children. >> i saw them bringing out the two kids and i started screaming, i was hysterical. right here in front of the house they were giving cpr to the baby in pampers. >> when firefighter as arrive there was heavy flames coming from the upper floors of the home. they eventually located the

small children inside. >> it's all difficult to loebt people inside of a burning building, despite what you see on television, there is a lot of smoke in there and the smoke is down to the floor and you literally can see nothing. it's a challenge to locate people in these buildings. >> the investigation is in early stages and there is unanswered questions about the fire. medics informed cpr on the young victims, they were rushed to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. >> it was a horrible scene. i don't know what happened with the kids, we have heard nothing about the kids. hopefully, praying to god they will be fine. >> reporter: back out live, everyone hoping for the best. the cause of this fire is still under investigation, not clear in this home had any working smoke detectors, what is also not clear who was inside of this house if anybody at the time of the fire with these young kids, we are working to get you more

a big change today in comparison to yesterday. philadelphia coming it at 59 and 45 in the poconos and cape may 59 and 60 in millville. here is satellite 6 along with action radar we had a cold front that moved through yesterday and you see the front well along the atlantic to the south and east and not a lot of precipitation with that front and it moves down to the south and east and the winds behind that come from a northwesterly direction and that cools us down on our friday. sustained winds 16 miles per hour in allentown, 20 in philadelphia, and 20 miles per hour in dover and we are finding some higher gusts across the region especially with the northwesterly wind going through the rest of our day. as we look at our evening commute. for the ride home, 4:00 p.m. 61 and 59 at 5:00 p.m. and upper 60s at 6:00 underneath a mostly sunny skies and mostly

two american military trainers died outside of a shooting at an air base in jordan. a third american and jordanian military officer was wounded in gun fire. a man arrested after a woman was found chained inside of a large storage container on his south carolina property goes before a judge this afternoon. kayla brown told police she was locked in the container for two months and fed regularly. her boyfriend is still missing. property owner and registered sex offender has his hearing this afternoon. he is facing charges and they are sweeping the property for other viction tims. >> as far as a know kayla is doing fine.

no issues with precipitation on our friday we are dry after that cold front that moved through yesterday. it wasn't a lot of precipitation but bringing in cooler winds on the backside. outside sky 6 hd looking at penn's landing on this friday afternoon, we have a bright blue sky and calm conditions outs side but make sure you layer up because it's on the cool side in comparison to yesterday, the city 59 and 56 in allentown and 59 in dover and 60 in millville and at the coast in atlantic city, numbers now are holding at 60 degrees, you look at the wind gusts across the region and they came up, gusting as high as 26 miles per hour in philadelphia and 20 miles per hour in wilmington and cape may, we are tapping into northwesterly wind on the backside of that cold front and we have sustained winds 7 to 14 miles per hour with the higher gusts that last throughout the rest of the afternoon. here is satellite 6 along with

action radar you see the cold front out along the atlantic that produced precipitation. on the backside we have high pressure that is still of the ohio valley and we are tapping into the northwesterly wind and that is cooling us down getting us close to where we should be for this time of year. here is the setup. seasonably cool. yesterday a high temperature of 72, today we max out at1 in the city and again tracking the gusts up to 30 miles per hour. as we get into the start of the weekend on saturday, still plenty of sunshine high temperature in the lower 60s but we have less wind to deal with as we get foo the day for our weekend. if you are traveling to the meadowlands where the eagles will be on sunday afternoon. kickoff 1:00 p.m., the temperature coming in at 55 degrees and mostly sunny as they take onhe giants, fourth quarter 54 and the north northwesterly wind with at 7 to 14 miles per hour. something to keep in mind as you go to bed saturday night into sunday, daylight saving time
