you, 7:00 a.m., saturday, november 5. here's some of the stories we're following on "action news." fiery crash, one person is dead after a two car collision sends a vehicle into a uutility pole in the northeast. septa subways and buses and trolleys are still at a standstill. thousands of gallons of water gush into the street after a major water main break. outside we go to chris sowers you said it's going to be a perfect weekend. both days in the 60s, however we're far from that right now as

hour. if there's going to be any complaints today it would be that, otherwise perfect conditions. mostly sunny skies and breezy. that's the call from accuweather today, of 3 degrees that's the forecasted high. tomorrow pretty much the same thing. will the comfortable nice weather last as we head into next week? i'll come a back in just a few minutes with the answer. 7:02. we have an update about this, the massive water main break that flooded east falls parking lot. this morning there has been signature fat improvement after the area was inundated by millions of gallons of water as you see there. we can tell you that 75 people had to be rescued from baker center on fox street. at least four stores were impacted costing half million dollars in damages. the philadelphia water department said this is the 4th time it happened in the area since january 2014. 6 million gallons of water all

spilled out there. shopping carts and mannequins surged on to the street. we ended up rescuing or moving across the water, 75 people and sheltered 150 people in the shopping center. >> i took that rag and was wringing it and stomping it. i just had my rugs cleaned. water main in the area is more than 100 years old. there's talks to reroute the transmission lines, it takes millions of dollars. one person is dead after a collision that happened in northeast philadelphia. we know one car burst into flames. this happened on the 1600 hundred block of grant avenue. the impact caused the car to slam into the utility pole. it brought down high tension lines igniting the fire.

fire department had to wait for me co-to turn over the power before they can put out the flames. >> the body is bundler beyond recognition, it's just a skeleton. you can't tell if it is a male or female. we don't know who it is. the vehicle is so badly burned we can't tell what type of vehicle it was. >> two other people are said to be in stable condition. the septa strike is getting ugly, today marks day five workers have been off the job. a scheduled face-to-face meeting yesterday was called off. septa has filed a lawsuit to force workers back on the job. >> the judge was very clear there's no competence evidence. >> reporter: attorney general for the union praised the judge who ruled that the septa workers strike is not causing a clear and present danger to

philadelphians that's the argument septa officials made in court for whose who rely on the transit system the most, school children, the poor, disabled and sick. the union maintains it's not that bad. >> people in philadelphia are finding alternate ways to get where they have to get they are walking, riding bikes, leasing cars and sharing rides. >> we're not going to lie down and can't resolve this strike and watch our passengers suffer. >> reporter: the strike has stopped 900,000 rides a day. >> i'm fed up with that. >> reporter: leading to gridlock and long commutes. >> this traffic is no good, spending more gas and more time. >> let's go septa get on the ball, get back to work. these people need to get around. >> reporter: there's concern that work stoppage could affect voter turn out on tuesday. both sides return to court on monday morning where septa will

coach mike mcqueery saw being sexually abused in a locker room shower in 2001. sandusky's lawyer argue he did not get a fair trial because the legal team mishandle the conviction. delaware county police are searching for the mann who cashed a check who they say belonged to a cancer patient. police say it shows michael allison cashing a 400-dollar check stolen from his girlfriend's grandmother in up darby. that woman is 68 years old and battling cancer. >> they lied to her to allegedly do the young girl's laundry. during the course of grandmom being gracious enough to let him in the house, they steal the check. >> the police say the grandmother tipped them off after confronting the girlfriend who confessed to needing the

we're going down this way and up this way. this is all warm east of the continental divide. that's cold out there. we need the jet stream to go like this seesaw this way. we need this to spill in from the lower 48. this can't happen because a storms, here's storm number one and two and three, they charge east and hammer the west coast. until this slows down and ultimately comes to an end we'll continue to see the mild conditions. as we move into next week there's another storm here, monday and tuesday there's another storm, wednesday and thursday, here's another one, it's almost like a train, storm after storm batters the west coast. until this pattern stops we'll see the mild temperatures. doesn't look like this will breakdown until the middle of the month.

a near flawless weekend is protected for accuweather for the delaware and the lehigh valleys. next week, some locations quo -- could get closer to 70 degrees, i'll have that in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. gray. >> 7:32, police are looking to track down two men after two children were shot while they were playing. chopper 6 hd above the scene central avenue in delaware county. the 11-year-old girl and 13-year-old boy was rushed to the children's hospital. two men were seen running away from the shooting. have you seen this right here, take a look at this, an unbelievable scene at an east falls shopping center, 6 million gallons of water was sent rushing into the street after a major water main break. 75 people were rescued.

this is not the first time residents and businesses had to endure this. dann cuellar has the details. >> reporter: from chopper 6 hd you get the idea of what's happening. a gusher of water pouring out of a water main break that turned the lot into a river. some customers were through this before. >> i looked out the window, hell no, i started hopping out the store. >> reporter: i panicked. >> it looked like a body floating in the water, but it was a mannequin washed out of the store. fire rescue crews moved people in rafts to safety. >> we rescue 75 people and sheltered 150 in various locations throughout the water department. >> reporter: philadelphia water department said this is the 4th time one of the transportation lines have ruptured since 2015.

because of the history. >> the valves were not fully opened. we wanted to get a quicker shut. it's 100-plus turns. >> reporter: to shut the ball valve? >> yes. >> reporter: 6 million gallons of water spewed out causing roughly $500,000 worth of damage to businesses and cars. >> the water was up here, i was stomping it and wringing it and stomping it. >> reporter: some customers thinks it may be time to find another place to shop. >> this place is cursed. >> reporter: this is the site of the old tastykake bakery. before this latest break, the water department had placebos to reroute the -- had plans to reroute the transmission lines but it takes time and money.

a major court ruling seems to be derailing talks between septa and the union. they called off face-to-face meeting yesterday. that's when a judge decided not to accept septa's request to force workers back to work. >> people in philadelphia are finding alternate ways to get where they have to get. they are walking, riding bikes, leasing cars and sharing rides. >> we're not going to lie down why we can't resolve the strike and watch our passengers suffer, not going to do it. >> there is concern that the strike could effect voter turnout tuesday if contract talks go anywhere. both sides return to court monday morning when septa asks a judge to file an injunction to halt the strike on election day. we'll continue to monitor the
